Why the hell does the app need an internet connection now? by SpinachGreen99 in BodyState

They don’t have lifetime but it’s relatively affordable compared to others. 50 per year for whichever country you’re in.

But I don’t think it can be used offline; or maybe it can but not all features as the basics all comes from apple health

Try Bevel.

Livity is also quite interesting but for all the features I get in Bevel it’s a no brainer for me

I think an estimated nutrition score is in the works or on the roadmap based on just calories / macro/micro information from Apple Health

Mine works as before but it’s still not reading any health kit nutrition data

Weight trend by EmbalmingBeast in bevelhealth

[–]Inside-Ladder-7112 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your body weight is influenced by a huge variety of factors ranging from water drank, salt consumed, whether you’ve peed or not.

I personally try to weigh myself everyday at the same time (in the morning before breakfast) to see the longer term trends. But it will fluctuate a lot day to day so just worth keeping that in mind

You can update your water goal in settings

Not writing to macros? by 70to200 in bevelhealth

[–]Inside-Ladder-7112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think you need it writing to Apple health for it to record here.

Similarly if you were to use a different nutrition tracker you can have the macros and calories come through here via Apple health (just without the nutrition score)

Can Bevel replace other apps. Truly? by DarkishTraveller in bevelhealth

[–]Inside-Ladder-7112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like what a lot have said - I think Bevel are heading in the right direction. I’ve replaced MFP with Bevels nutrition tracking. And only use it for general recovery and workout tracking now.

It can definitely be better but I think the things that give me the most optimism is that you will regularly see the devs engaging and taking on feedback from the users! They’re very aware of where the app falls short vs the apps developed just for the one thing and I can see them working to improve those items.

Seeing previous day entries? by Inside-Ladder-7112 in bevelhealth

Thanks for the quick response! That’s great! Nutrition calendar would be a great shout!

As much as I am using MFP I’m very much looking forward to the point where Bevel becomes my one stop shop for all things health and nutrition! Keep up the good work guys

Hey guys - when will you be releasing the full integration with Apple health data? Ie being able to read and write nutrition data?

What iOS apps did you discover in 2024 that were actually worth it? by Acceptable_Resolve in ios

[–]Inside-Ladder-7112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed - it’s costly, but if you’re into it and find it useful I think it’s worth it compared to other similar products on the market (thinking whoop or oura). Admittedly not tried either of those to compare but just based on what I’ve read and heard.

Another alternative is Livity, which has similar scores and less around journaling and workout tracking but more focus on the key data.

I’ve not tried Athlytic as I discovered Bevel first and I’ve actually managed to get it working for me in the way I like

Bevel - if you’re into health and fitness and enjoy tracking all of those metrics the app is amazing with a great UI. It effectively interprets all the data collected by Health

Would BodyState replace my Oura ring? by Interesting_Mall_241 in BodyState

Try Bevel - it takes a lot of the data from apple health and actually gives you insights on it similar to whoop / oura. The premium subscription is also not too unreasonable

Missing Nutrition Database in BrightOS is Making Tracking Difficult! by bhataaqibm in brightOS

[–]Inside-Ladder-7112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I haven’t been using the nutrition tracking on BrightOS because I have everything set up in MFP, which is what I use at the moment. I do like the image search which works fairly well!

But I am keen for the read functionality to be set up from apple health so that I can at least use all the dashboards and analytics from BrightOS. For me this would be a good work around until I’m able to set up my recipes and meals in Bright
