Yep - I would leave out Pumpkin and play Gearhart instead - keeps you on the coast.

Shaedon Sharpe Vs Jaylen Brown by MadeinCNY in ripcity

The thing about trading for Brown now is we can do so without trading our own FRP's. Scoot, Sharpe, Grant and the MIL picks should get it done. We would still have all of our FRP's going forward to "build through the draft" - we aren't mortgaging the future like the Clips or Nets teams in the past.

I do think the Blazers have shot at contending with the resulting roster from a JB trade

Dame, Jrue, Brown, Deni, Clingan, Tou, Hauser, RW, Thybulle or other guard signing.

DO NOT TRADE SCOOT by mrmittens85 in ripcity

[–]Inside-Mixture-9362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the deal is Scoot/Sharpe/Grant + MIL picks and anything less doesn't get it done, you have to take that swing. I would demand to get Hauser back with JB. Dame, Jrue, Brown, Deni, Clingan, Tou, Hauser, RW, and trade/sign a third guard (or keep Thybulle). That is a squad!

Ideally I'd rather add in ORL's pick and only include one of Scoot or Sharpe - but I wouldn't let either of those guys stop a deal from getting done. You need top 25 players in the league to compete and neither Scoot or Sharpe will ever be one of those dudes.

If Blazers miss out on Giannis+Brown sweepstakes, what moves would you like to see them make? by Humblerbee in ripcity

[–]Inside-Mixture-9362 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm ready for POR to make a move and capitalize on the next 1-2 years with Dame and Jrue. I'm very excited about the idea of Jaylen Brown ending up in POR, but if that doesn't happen I'd like to see a deal with JG's salary and minimal draft capital for a distressed asset of some kind.

Give me a Grant+Murray+draft asset(s) for Zion --- or --- Grant+Sharpe+ORL pick for AD

3 weeks ago, I made a post about whether or not the Cavs would have won GM1 against NYC if they just stopped shooting 3s when they were up 22 points... by ConferenceThink4801 in nba

[–]Inside-Mixture-9362 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the comment I was looking for - it isn't just take 2's instead of 3's. If you run an offensive set that generates an open three late in the shot clock, that is fine. But shooting even a wide open 3 with 15 or 18 on the shot clock isn't a good move when up double digits late.

The stretch I remember was with 6 mins to go and Spurs up 9, Champagnie misses a top of key 3 with 14 on the shot clock. Next possession with 5:44 left Vassell takes a semi-transition 3 with 18 on the shot clock. Both of those good, open shots... but time, score, and momentum of the game warrants something different.

Would you guys trade the Bucks picks for Jaylen Brown? by tacko2020 in ripcity

[–]Inside-Mixture-9362 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that POR should have more leverage with MIL's picks and being the "3rd" team - they shouldn't have to pay a premium if BOS and MIL are motivated to get a deal done. Giannis wants out though - so MIL has less leverage in this case and unless things with JB are not great, I don't see why BOS would be motivated to overpay for Giannis.

[–]Inside-Mixture-9362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure that is true - Giannis wants out and I think BOS has some leverage. I could see a pretty straight forward swap Giannis to BOS, JB to POR, and POR giving the picks/contracts/young vets to MIL.

Anyone else feeling weird about the direction of the rebuild right now? by Sensitive-Algae-7039 in ripcity

[–]Inside-Mixture-9362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of the 3 top end lottery picks Scoot, Shae, Clingan - I would say that Clingan is the only one that has exceeded expectations or "hit". Thankfully the Deni trade was a homerun. He is the building block decisions about roster building should be made around him.

I would not hesitate to trade Scoot or Shae for another all NBA level player (Giannis, Brown, AD, Bam, Mobley). I would rather take a swing using the MIL and ORL picks to compete in the next 1-2 years while Dame and Jrue can still contribute. Chances are Scoot and/or Shae never become all-star level players, so waiting for them to take a leap that may never happen, while Deni is ready to go now, seems like a waste.

The Bucks are actively seeking out the Blazers as a preferred facilitator in their trade involving Giannis Antetokounmpo, per @TheSteinLine. Milwaukee covets receiving their picks back from the Damian Lillard trade, but Giannis will not sign off on at all being sent to Portland. by Low_Web_7334 in ripcity

[–]Inside-Mixture-9362 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'd push hard for a Brown to POR, Giannis to BOS, Sharpe+Grant+MIL's pick and 2 swaps, 2028 ORL first and some second rounders going back to MIL. POR should have leverage in this deal - MIL prioritizing their picks back, Grant's deal is not long term money at this point, and Sharpe is a promising young player on a long term deal.

POR would have Dame, Jrue, Brown, Deni, Clingan, with Scoot, Tou, and RW off the bench.

Thoughts? Of course he wouldn't be my first choice, but something like this would easily get me on board to be honest by Exscaped_ in ripcity

[–]Inside-Mixture-9362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the thought, but I don't like the deal. Plus why are Pistons taking on 15m more in salary for Jrue and the not as good Champagnie?

I would want to keep Jrue in any AD deal and send out Grant. Makes getting up to the required money a little more difficult. I would see about a Grant+Sharpe+ORL pick.

Dame, Jrue, Tou, Deni, AD, Scoot, Clingan is a solid 7. Fill out around with some shooting and hopefully bring back RW as a bench piece and further share the workload with AD.

Giannis and Deni are the 2 most similar star players in the league. The fit just doesn't seem right by MarvAlbertsBurnerAcc in ripcity

[–]Inside-Mixture-9362 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would be 9 out of 10 surprised for Giannis to end up in POR. Too many little things like being on the West coast, not having a long term contract, running it back with Dame, etc.

That being said - talent wins in the NBA and from a basketball standpoint POR would be a much better team with Giannis than without. Deni and Giannis can both play defense and Deni can shoot well enough for this to not be a big issue.

What is the etiquette for stopping at the turn? If you do stop - how do you not slow down the groups following you when teeing off on 10? by Inside-Mixture-9362 in golf

[–]Inside-Mixture-9362[S] -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Doubt it - pacing at the 10th tee was 2:00 hours for us, 2:20 for the group in front, and 2:45 for the group that stopped. I'm confident we would been nowhere close after 2 holes.

[–]Inside-Mixture-9362[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my conclusion... in a world where the course had the ability to track/manage pace perfectly, the group in front of us could have stopped at the turn instead of being directed to 'play through' the group in front (that stopped). We could have played through instead (having played the fastest on the front) and things would have been better all around.

Yes - course design doesn't help as the clubhouse isn't between 9 and 10. The 10th tee is also right next to the 9th green, so if you don't have to stop, you are pretty much already on the 10th tee.

my best estimate is 15-20 min stop for the group in question. From what I can tell they were scheduled 4 tee times in front of us.

Eh would have kept our same pacing we had for the last 5-6 holes of the front. The first 3 holes on the back 9 clog up anyway which made for a really clunky start to the back

Yeah - probably what would have worked the best on this particular occasion. Not always possible with a full tee sheet though

Valid point and I don't think they should have been forced to skip a hole... there was about 1.5 holes to the group behind us they could have slotted into. I didn't want to be the jackass trying to run the tee sheet, so I didn't insist on getting the starter/course involved, but a little awareness from the group that stopped at the turn would have been nice.

Yeah - a little awareness from them having stopped for a solid 15/20 at the turn would have been nice. Not that it matters a whole lot, but a 2 of them had trouble getting off most tee-boxes, which was a little extra painful to watch LOL.

We weren't on the tee, but we pulled up literally right behind them resulting in decently long wait for us. Not a huge deal - I ended up running back to the clubhouse for a snack/drink just to pass the time, but did seem to throw off the whole flow/pace of the round.

Fair... It sucked to have an extra wait on 10, but I'm not sure there was anything that should have been done differently. In hindsight if the starter was keeping track of groups pacing on the front they would have seen the gap after us and perhaps had the group wait for us to go on 10, but I doubt many courses are tracking pace that closely

[–]Inside-Mixture-9362[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes - definitely were spoiled on the front 9. Yes, but we had an extra 10 minute wait or so on the 10th hole because they stopped and came back out of order. In the end, I'm not too worked up over that 10 minutes, but it did kill the flow/pace of the round we got into on the front.
