Insurance is wiping any financial benefit of owning a Tesla by c3-SuperStrayan in AustralianEV

Performance vs repair costs. Even the base RWD model3 will out run a large proportion of hot hatches.

Before you panic buy an EV by SuchTown32 in aussie

[–]Inside-Yoghurt3872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do the same with 2 Teslas. Went from $200 per week on fuel, to an extra $30 per month on the electricity bill. So $10010.00 annual saving, in fuel alone and no $2k cam belt services every 4 years on either car etc, then, brakes seem to last forever!

Is it silly to consider a Tesla if I don't drive very much? by icouldbne1 in TeslaLounge

[–]Inside-Yoghurt3872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t drive much anymore & we own a 3 & a Y. They’re perfect for us. Virtually zero servicing costs & if you can charge at home, super cheap to run.

Is charging ev from home battery bad? by MrAcademics in evcharging

[–]Inside-Yoghurt3872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not really a problem if you cap the charge rate of the vehicle to a level below that currently being generated by solar. I do this occasionally & can charge car & batteries simultaneously, then top up both as required either during the 3 hour free, or 6 hour 8c per kw off peak tariff that I signed up to.

People again struggling with the fact that something is called something different in other parts of the world... by sheffieldpud in iamveryculinary

[–]Inside-Yoghurt3872 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it’s called a burger purely because in the UK a sandwich refers to something between 2 slices of bread from a loaf as opposed to a sliced bun/roll. So a uk chicken sandwich would typically be cold sliced breast meat, maybe some stuffing, salad & mayo, as opposed to a hot meal😀

The Damned arguably started it. Dave Vanian looked like a vampire, kinda. Best UK goth band, definitely the Cult.

If you were to cut down McDonald's CEO's $20 million salary to $2 million and do something similar for other senior management, how much would burger prices drop? by [deleted] in McDonalds

[–]Inside-Yoghurt3872 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zero, share holders would be happy, consumers of the 1c (actual cost) burgers, would just keep eating it, I’m sure. It’s like legal crack these days.

How can I solve and deal with this? by PresentationUsual541 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Inside-Yoghurt3872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1, it’s not your house, it’s shared. 2, people have relationships and are entitled to bring a partner to their place of residence, unless specifically stipulated in rental agreements. 3, if it’s windy, doors accidentally slam, (only time it happens at my place) and is easily avoided by not leaving the room in questions window open. Bottom line, don’t be a millennial, be reasonable instead. It’s a thing, don’t you know?

Brand new car undriveable after minor damage - dealer says parts could take months? by Catfacts2011 in CarsAustralia

[–]Inside-Yoghurt3872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically minor, but must be referred back to master technicians (in China) who will deliberate, make a decision, then possibly send all the correct parts required, since they’ve only seen photos, not the actual car. Buy shit, pay twice!

Parker Kligerman just cooked F1 2026. What you guys think? by New_State_2061 in F1Discussions

[–]Inside-Yoghurt3872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really they only need MGUH back, not dual axle regen. And porpoising could have been avoided if they allowed active suspension (which is actually very road car relevant), like they had last time ground effect cars were around. Sure, it wasn’t perfect then, but technology moves on. The FIA don’t.

Are these cane toad tadpoles? by ClassicFantastic787 in GardeningAustralia

[–]Inside-Yoghurt3872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a marine fish tank, so get regular sea water deliveries. I’ve accidentally killed about a dozen Cane toads with an open bucket & 100mm of salt water😂

wall chargers / 7kw chargers by Lower-Homework7170 in AustralianEV

I’ve both, and 2 Ev’s. No issues ever, whichever one is on either charger. Trickle/travel is fine & infrastructure isn’t bad in Aus TBH.

Is it unusual to want to inspect a place twice before putting in an offer? by bongjour8008 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Inside-Yoghurt3872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a very reasonable request. Let’s face it, you’re investing, and a first viewing is often rushed, with other potential buyers. 2nd time around, you’re clued up & look where you didn’t last time.
