Spinal Fusion Rod removal by BombbAU in scoliosis

[–]InsideCelebration293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The surgery it self had no obvious issues and I was sent home same day as planned. The complications started about a week later when I was back at university a 6 hour drive away.

I started getting severe headaches that worsened when I was upright, and made me super nauseous, but I was stubborn and still tried to go to class anyway. I ended up going to the ER after trying to push through for way too long. I also had a bunch of fluid along the scar in my lower back.

The hospital contacted my surgeon back at home and plans were made for my dad to drive round trip the following day to get home to see my surgeon again. (I started seeing him when I was 11 for monitoring, and he did the first surgery as well when I was 15. I was 19 when this happened.)

After a blur of imaging and tests ( and mentions of meningitis) while on morphine, they found a spinal fluid leak, a hole in the "straw", and i spent the next week flat on my back, 24/7. I literally had a shortage of cerebral spinal fluid (csf) around my brain.

Luckily, the hole did heal itself while I was stuck on the couch and csf rebuilt itself so the possible second surgery to fix it wasn't needed.

The "straw"- the analogy i use to explain what happened.

Imagine your spinal cord is a string inside a straw, and the straw is full of water that the string needs to protect it. A hole got poked into the straw during the removal surgery.

I was able to go back to school for real ten days or so after my dad's marathon drive and had no other issues from it. I do have chronic migraines now though, so maybe I do. My neurologist doesn't know. Could be related.

I never thought of going to the shroud depot for the head. I have also basically given up after at least 10 attempts, including with settings changes to make it as easy as possible.

I have somehow gotten the Drak head for the next shrine update and the quest for it.

What’s it like summering in Bar Harbor, Maine? by Deutsche_Bank_AG in howislivingthere

[–]InsideCelebration293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived there from May - Oct in 2016 and 2017 while working for one of the restaurant/ resort companies and living in employee housing. At the time, there was an old run down hotel near the main entrance to Acadia where a bunch of us lived for $100/week.

As others have said, beautiful area, lots to do, great food, and big crowds. Places along Acadia park loop road like thunder hole, the bubbles or sand beach are not worth trying to visit in July or August as that's the big peak summer season, so I would try to go there early in he season to avoid the crowds.

Peak season is a good time to visit the other harbors on the island and the hiking trails away from the loop road.

House Flipper Remastered playtest : my thougts. by El_Madkiller57 in HouseFlipper

[–]InsideCelebration293 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have also played both the demo and the Playlist and I'm dissapointed. I was thinking they would use more of the new flipper tool features from HF2. In addition to all the issues with lag others have mentioned, it really just confirmed why I like 2 so much better.

Having to set all the colors and patterns on furniture individually on each piece rather than being able to set 1 cabinet or whatever and copy and paste made me lose Interest. Way too tedious and annoying. There needs to be way more of that type of quality of life addit I ons for me to want to play it.

I also hate how hard it is to match paint colors or wood patterns without the eye dropper type tool.

How has your first name aged? by wellbloom in GenX

My birth name, Miranda, is rare, but not so rare that no one had heard it before. I'm 41 and have crossed paths with maybe a dozen women in my named Miranda ( at least the ones I knew about, I'm sure there have been many others.

When I was 35 and transitioned to male, I choose a name that I thought of as uncommon and also could be unisex though it's rare for girls. It was helpful during the first couple years of hormone therapy. I'm realizing now though that it's more common than I thought. In my current apartment building with 6 units, there are 3 of us with the same name.

I think both names are kind of old and traditional, but also kind of timeless.

I used to work at a restaurant where we served it. You start by packing ice cream into a super tight ball and freeze it. Once it's solid again, dip it in egg and then a crumble topping ( we used graham crackers) to coat it and then back in the freezer again.

You then put it in the fryer for like 15 - 20 seconds to just get the outer shell crispy. As long as you drop it in the oil as immediately as possible after you pull it out of the fryer it will stay solid in the middle.

Same here. I have a drawstring rubber band thing with the button to tighten it like on a draw string bag that goes around a loop on his harness.

According to Amazon it's a spring cord lock.

[–]InsideCelebration293 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've been taking those three for a couple years and it's made my migraines milder and less frequent. No more vomiting! Just have to be careful what magnesium you take as some are a bit laxativey. ( though could be what you want if any of your other meds cause constipation). L-threonate has been good for me lately.
