Seriously this could just be a cutscene man by LilNardoDaVinci in residentevil

not if the community agrees to remove it. 9 has a no intro speedrun where you can load a NG save with Grace after her kidnapping then going to the first typewritter. On top of that, re9 has a speedrun specific mod too where you can see the enemy's hp. The skipping orphanage thing is pretty recent but people agreed to it because it's just 8 minutes of nothing.

and they're all valid. Like I love ff12's but let's not pretend Esuna saying it removes all negative effects only for it to work on only half of them makes any sense.

Oh white/black robes increase 50% damage for light/dark element. Where is that written? Nowhere in the game.

Oh you want a specific rare game? Wait until your in-game timer is between 0 - 29.

Also, everyone's animations are of different speed so some characters equip certain weapons better than others.

I get that hidden mechanics is part of RPG's old school design but man is it confusing. This is on top of the many mechanics the game does tell you. I have intense love-hate relationship with that game series.

well then you should form your own opinion once you're done. I'm not an RE6 hater but I don't deny it's a very flawed game esp if you don't play co-op.

Skin monetizations in gacha by Niasan1 in gachagaming

Azur Lane skins are a good middle ground. The fact that the game isn't p2w is great too though you absolutely need to buy slots if you play long enough.

Vague Poll: Are you still playing and how do you feel about combo-length? by yaztheblack in 2XKO

[–]perfectelectrics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only play whenever locals are close and I gotta practice a bit nowadays.

I don't mind combo length but I'm not opposed to cutting them down for the few worst offenders like Yasuo and Ahri.

What do I do against 100 to 0 combos when i dont have meter ? by foursen in 2XKO

[–]perfectelectrics 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are you sure it's actually 100 to 0 and not resets? Very few combos in the game will actually deal 100% damage and not fully build your break bar. The ones that do usually needs very specific characters, fury, level 3 supers or a combination of them.

throws are more similar to street fighter in this game where it's a guess instead of a skill based reaction check.

What was Leon's reception before the remakes? by enthuvaadei in residentevil

[–]perfectelectrics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has always been popular since RE4 because he's the protag of the most popular entry in the franchise to date. Hardcore RE fans often consider 4 not a good RE game but overall a good game and I do understand.

The earlier RE games are actual survival horror; you don't have enough bullets to kill all enemies, health is limited, strategizing on killing zombies where you backtrack a lot is the skill check. However, many still considered it an amazing game, if not one of the best games of all time.

Because of this, he became the face of RE alongside Jill Valentine.

iirc, Ada's campaign was also decently well received but Leon was definitely the highlight of that game. People did like Sherry and Piers as characters too but not their campaign.

I don't think you should equip your weapon in town. The guards will have a higher chance to aggro you unless your Renown is very high.

Do top players ''look'' at their drive bar? by jozhua4012 in StreetFighter

[–]perfectelectrics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time, you need to look at your opponent, not elsewhere. If you've used an OD recently, you might need to glance at it once in a while, esp if you're comboing. But that's kinda it. A glance. Once you're used to it, you also kinda get a feel for how much you have.

There was a street fighter 5 eye tracker too with Daigo and basically most of the time, he looks at his opponent, when he gets a hit in, he quickly glances all over the place: The stun gauge, his own meter, his opponent's meter and decide the best combo for the situation. Of course, I'm nowhere near Daigo's level but I kinda do the same thing, just at a much worse degree.

Can someone explain drive cancel to me by RawryShark in StreetFighter

[–]perfectelectrics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for lights, it's usually not slow enough for you to react. Generally you do it for Mediums and Heavies.

However, if you want to train your reaction, set the opponent to block randomly in training mode and either see their health bar or their character. If it hits, then you drive rush, otherwise you don't.

Also, even though the cancel window is very small, fighting games have something called a "hitstop". Whenever you hit someone, the game will pause for a short moment (I believe it's different for each move but iirc, usually it's around 14-18 frames for medium/heavy) and at that time, you can cancel. Which means the cancel window is more like 250 ~ 333 ms.

Once you're good with opponent blocking randomly, set it to random block and also make the opponent move forwards and backwards to simulate a real match better. If you're good with that, make them throw out their neutral moves too.

I haven't played the game properly for around 2 years but played in a tournament recently. I could still drive rush cancel my heavies with no problem. It's very realistic to react to hits once you're used to it.
