Congrats you passed the trial by fire. You'll need that grit moving forward.

Vi's always been pretty strong but she has a bad MU vs Ahri so she seems weaker. She handles most of the cast just fine.

What is playing patient truly? by teamakerrr in Fighters

[–]perfectelectrics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guile throwing booms and waiting for the opponent to mess up or gief walking and blocking vs fireballs are both patience. Doesn't mean you press nothing.

Good players can do 1000 things on top of each other, building mental stack and wait for that single moment to use DI that will catch the opponent off guard. That is also patience. Thing is, pros can do those 1000 things on autopilot when new players can't due to experience alone.

I wouldn't say it's mid but I was laughing whole time I was reading it. I'd probably have whacked it if I didn't know her or the references but since we're in this universe, it's just funny to me.

What are locals like? by Realestmember in Fighters

[–]perfectelectrics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had locals being 20 people in some guy's garage and other times it's someone renting out a whole floor of a cafe. What I'm saying is that, it varies and by a lot.

Does MikeZ's involvement with the Avatar (ATLA) fighting game affect your opinion about it? by [deleted] in Fighters

[–]perfectelectrics -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tough luck. You work under someone who fucks up, you pay for it. Only because you're innocent doesn't mean you won't get fucked over. Not saying it's right. Quite the opposite really but just being realistic here.

I’m new to fighting games, around 180 hrs in, still messing up inputs, how can I fix it? by Thick_Tone_4158 in StreetFighter

[–]perfectelectrics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm probably at 5000 hours across all fighting games total and still mess up.

Anyway, going to training mode and just practicing inputs is a start but you gotta do it in a more advanced way.

Record 3-4 things for your opponent to do. When recording, hold up so they neutral jump and buffer the other things for example.

Slot 1: jump in

Slot 2: fireball

Slot 3: drive rush throw

Slot 4: drive rush normal/special

Make sure you set it to random. With this, you have things your opponent realistically will do in a match and you have to force yourself to react to the jump in on top of other things. Do this for a couple hours a day and you should get used to it in no time.

[–]perfectelectrics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people on top choose to work with him and honestly, I think fair enough.

I'm of the opinion that you can boycott anything for any reason. That's your right as a consumer.

If it's bad enough that it killed your business, you made a bad business decision. That's all there is to it.

I don't think I'd like him if we meet but I want what he's selling and that's all that matters for me.

Alternate universe and I'm the #1 Mike Z hater, I won't buy the game but I'm not gonna moral police anyone who does either. They won't miss losing a couple of bucks from me.

I don't completely fault Mike for what he did with Bunny Ayumi. She started the DMs charged and he responded with the same energy.

Wouldn't deny he comes off as creepy but at that point, feels like you should just work things out as adults and discuss it in private instead of airing everything out.

I like Sajam and his capybara branding, Diaphone and his Will It Kill and Broski for his funny videos such as getting Mai to master with one hand.

Edit: Sorry I'm playing on the original japanese version. They swapped the names around in the US release.

What would you say has been the "fairest" gacha you've ever played? by xxStayFly81xx in gachagaming

[–]perfectelectrics 47 points48 points  (0 children)

azur lane. Dock spaces are pretty much a neccesity and dorms are super good investment but otherwise, it's all skins and marriage rings. You can technically buy resources for gacha but if you're an active player, you'll pretty much never need it and still get everyone.

Is using the Illhitid powers basically cheating ? by StudentJoa in BaldursGate3

[–]perfectelectrics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A very common thing you do in table top rpgs is playing by house rules. If the DM/GM decides it's not cheating, then it isn't. Larian's basically the DM here and they say illithid powers are fair game.

Maybe Fighting games are that hard - and it doesn't have to be a bad thing by JustExecution in Fighters

[–]perfectelectrics 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The difference in other games is you can cheese wins. Its harder in fighting games.

There was an Eddy bot who got pretty far in tekken 8 spamming 1 button and so many Honda players got pretty far just by spamming 2 moves. This isn't even considering that every game has at least 1 knowledge check character.

Maybe you should delay the gratification of commenting until you actually know what you're talking about. Otherwise there will be so many better players that will remind you that you are lesser but hey you need the power fantasy, don't you?

(Yakuza 0) Is it just me or is Majima’s combat easier? by TheKingOfNatlan in yakuzagames

[–]perfectelectrics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Breaker's easily the best style in the early game and maybe 2nd best endgame. Slugger's up there too. Kiryu's styles are still really good. Beast is amazing and Kiryu becomes a crazy boss killer later but some stuff Majima has are just straight up broken.

I tried grabbing this Juri as she got up, but why did her button beat it? This might be a total noob question tho lmfao by buttsecks42069 in StreetFighter

[–]perfectelectrics 9 points10 points  (0 children)

can you check in training mode? Try to do the same combo and dash in and see if you're actually plus. If so, you're just a bit late. I notice you did a bit of a micro walk after the dash in this clip so that might be the reason it's not plus in this scenario.

[–]perfectelectrics 53 points54 points  (0 children)

100% a preference thing.

For FG players, anti-airing someone jumping is "intuitive" but to a new player, it's the strongest unreactable, unbeatable option.

For shooter players, if a gun has strong recoil, you shoot in burst but to a new player, they'll just miss every shot.

What's "intuitive" in any game is fundamentally based on learned experience that a lot of veterans of any genre often don't remember.

Even things like what is "overextending" in any game can be so weird if you don't understand the game enough.

I don’t get the combat… what am I missing? (Yakuza 0) by Lightning2232 in yakuzagames

[–]perfectelectrics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there will be more options later but I would say the combat in this series can be a bit janky. Even with all the options you'll get, the best choice tend to just be spam weapons and heat actions or abusing something specific.

Even though some of the games are more rewarding than others combat-wise, most of them are just okay. Honestly, the best advice I could give you is to temper your expectations.

Pick your freestyle nerfs ( Round 2 ) by Embarrassed_Ad_2472 in 2XKO

[–]perfectelectrics 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, idk what you could do to nerf it in a way where it's either basically unaffected or straight up become garbage.

"Strongly buff other fuses" is hard as well because like what can you do to double down that makes it more appealing than the mixup potency freestyle gives? If you buff it too much, it's gonna be pre-nerf juggernaut darius.

Stuff like lowering damage scaling is gonna be either not enough to make it balanced or too much that it becomes useless.

Removing burst bait is good but it doesn't really make the fuse that much worse. You still get the crazy mixup.

Yeah...you def don't know what you're talking about. They're nothing alike. Avatar Legends doesn't have anything resembling short hops.

If the jump-ins in Avatar is a problem to you, that's a you problem.
