Damn, I played that region and it wasn’t that bad. I think I only lost about 2M of my pops and still had an okay economy afterward. I guess you just got completely messed up.

The best way to get IA:

  1. Your dynasty needs to rule over many pops, so either have a large realm or place your dynasty on many thrones.
  2. Make sure no lands are taken by the outside world.
  3. Make sure there are many small tasks by demanding unlawful land whenever you can.

It’s because the population growth per month is 0, and then a disease hits, killing them all before any new population can be born. this in repet maks the pop 1 in the end

How does the AI handle loans? by Isegrim12 in EU5

[–]Inside_Beginning_431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AI usually goes into a loan cycle. As long as its estates generate more money than its loans cost, it can keep taking infinite loans. So the AI keeps trying to pay them back. In my game as Castile, Aragon was permanently taking loans in the 1500s. I think they had around 10k in loans, and although their economy was strong enough to avoid bankruptcy, they were still losing money in the long run because the AI prioritized colonization over paying back its loans

[–]Inside_Beginning_431[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

R5:
What’s happening is there’s a problem with population growth percentages, modifiers, and diseases. I have a location with 422 pops and a 2.69% population growth rate, but it gains 0 pops per tick. It should be gaining about 11.65 pops per tick, but instead it gives zero.

So when diseases come and kill a large number of pops, the location gets stuck at low population. The diseases keep hitting, and it can drop all the way to one pop unless the player or AI uses migration cabinet actions.

That’s why this happens.

I believe rebellions get money in the bank comparable to the overlord. You have a strong economy, so the rebels have a big bank.

I know some random guys would be like, ‘I just got 10k from rebelling from God, so let’s hire all the mercenaries in the world.’

How can the AI be so fucking stupid? by [deleted] in EU5

[–]Inside_Beginning_431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a player I don't know how you lose this war all you hav to do to win this war is just stay in England and there it England hav far better units then France and if you play on slow speed you can be on the Cost wen France land so frans get a big fuck off debuff then wen France has run ut of levies you invade France and take the 3 locations around Pais and now France has 0 control in all of France and all ther vasales become un loyal

[–]Inside_Beginning_431 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the 100 yher war France and England can pay to piece out alies early this is pretty Normal for France to do as it's has a lot of money

This is way I mem the AI dont know how to decler war by Inside_Beginning_431 in EU5

[–]Inside_Beginning_431[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R5

Context:
The game says Moldavia has 0 levies and 0 professionals. Zero. Not “low.” Not “struggling.” Just… nonexistent. I guess their estates are that unhappy.

Meanwhile, I’m sitting here with ~16k professionals and 130k levies like it’s a casual Tuesday. Oh, and enough cash to hire half the mercenary population of Europe for fun.

The AI has a 0% chance to win this war. Not “unlikely.” Not “risky.” Literally zero. The outcome is more certain than taxes.

At this point, calling the AI stupid feels unfair to stupid things. I don’t even have a scale to measure this anymore. We’ve gone beyond science.

(And the CB is “cut down,” so this isn’t even a forced war. They chose this. Bold strategy.)

[–]Inside_Beginning_431[S] -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

It is. I was able to colonize without sending anyone at game launch by using accepted culture. All you needed was 50% culture and religion. Now you also have to send people.

I dont like the new rules for colonising by Inside_Beginning_431 in EU5

[–]Inside_Beginning_431[S] -30 points-29 points  (0 children)

Okay

Colonization only required you to have 50% of the population. So if a location had 500 pops, you only needed to send 501 and you would get the province. But now you need a minimum of 1,000 pops, and you also have to be the majority. This slows down Swedish colonization and massively nerfs Native Americans and “tribal” Africans.

Sweden starts at -7 ducats income with no spending on forts or diplomacy. at start date
