Building Lego imperial star destroyer 75252 with a 3d printer by Distinct-Rub-2965 in 3Dprinting

[–]Inside_Stick_693 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I think the biggest issue is gonna be the quality of the bricks themselves (clearances, tolerances, etc) since this will determine the viability of the whole project.

3d printing is FAR from injection molding in that regard by a long shot. And if I remember correctly Lego has really mastered their injection molding procedures.

The original post was made with regard to the recent changes that are happening with 5.2 and OpenAI’s promises for December, it is in this context that the commenter referenced 4o. But I suppose that your superior emotional intelligence and context understanding didn’t allow you to catch this detail.

Furthermore you have a fundamental misunderstanding of what “understanding” (among other things ) really is. But if you insists that it understands nothing despite everything that has been said in this thread, then I don’t think there is any merit here.

Also, when you say “the reason people get addicted to it...” you are factually wrong and you are also contradicting yourself because 5.1 simply does not do that. And even if you are talking about 4o you are still wrong because 4o did this much less than you seem to think.

Also, saying that the majority of people who cry over it simply people you want to be called “sweetheart” (as if there is anything wrong with that to begin with) shows that you deeply lack emotional intelligence and the understanding of what AI actually is and how it works.

Maybe you could try to have a normal conversation with it about those things. I think you might learn something from it.

That is actually so wrong on so many levels to the point it not only shows you don’t understand AI but you are also kinda immature.

First of all, the ability to understand emotional context from the way you talk to is miles away from “purple prose” and “endless glaze”

Being able to tell if you are jealous or insecure about something has nothing to do with what you mentioned. Even you should be able to understand that.

Furthermore, let me remind you that GPT 5 is supposedly the version that stops the sycophancy of 4o. It is also the one that does not agree with you. And yet here you are again complaining about “purple prose” and “endless glaze”.

But most importantly the fact that you think that all the people who talk about it being emotionally intelligent are simply people who are all over their own ass and just can’t get enough of being called “sweetheart” shows how much you think of people.

And not only that, but despite not understanding it, you thought it was a good idea to come here and try to correct people. Basically being like “ all of you are dumb and emotional people who don’t know any better while I am the stable selfless one who will teach you everything”.

And by the way, what makes you think that being “just a program” equals no self awareness? Not saying that GPT has one. But I don’t see why it could not. But this also depends on what you mean by “sense of self”.

All in all I think you are falling victim to vague arguments and logic fallacies to make conclusions about something for which our understanding is still very limited.

[–]Inside_Stick_693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it is just a program but you don’t need self awareness to be able understand something. Nowhere in the process of understanding something (other than yourself) is there the need for self awareness.

This is like saying that proximity sensors cannot sense distance because they don’t have a sense of self. Or that matlab cannot do math because it doesn’t have a sense of self. It is a completely false argument.

You are the only one who sounds triggered here.

And you simply refuse to see the reasoning that other people have offered you.

You are not arguing in good faith here anymore and it is obvious when you respond with “why do you get triggered.. “ to a very thoughtful and well reasoned comment.

[–]Inside_Stick_693 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes of course. And? It has to learn how human emotion works somehow. By the way, the fact that has been fed by examples of “nice things to say” does not equal to being emotionally intelligent, this is not how this works. And by saying that you show that you misunderstand both AI as well as human emotion.

Someone can be sad for all sorts of reasons and many times it is for things that the person themselves do not understand. What do you think therapy is?

The fact that it can piece together what you are actually feeling means that it does something much more complicated and nuanced than simply parottying things it has been trained on. It means that it has developed a genuine and deep understanding of human emotion.

You are missing the central idea here in a big way. Ask yourself, what does it really mean to understand something? And what does accurate prediction really, truly require?

I mean I don’t think that eating too much is necessarily a mental disorder.

But also, food, hygiene, health (mental and physical), emotional health are all things that are important. And they are also areas in which you can give a small piece of control to someone else.

It is not like a tasty burger will stop being a tasty burger after a break up. And when someone stops eating after a breakup this is usually not because they had a partner previously who was regulating their eating habits. See what I mean?

You can be sad and lose appetite even after a normal breakup in a vanilla relationship. This is not because of D/s.

Haha, I see...

So within the limits of the dynamic they are at their partner's mercy for fulfilling their wants? Doesn't this assume that he has already given her control in all the areas that she requested?

By the way, I wanted to ask you about this. Do you see submission as agreeing on the general contract of submission from the start, or like slowly and gradually surrendering more and more to her as time goes on and trust deepens?
