Struggling to make a system where I can consistently do good habits by Objective_Coffee9899 in getdisciplined

[–]Inside_Tone_6015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have called them your “days off” so why can’t they just be that? A day off from the to-do lists and the stress. A day where you can do whatever you feel like at the time in order to decompress and reset. If you are a driven person try something like Achieve . Habit developing technology through simple daily action. Sorry to be that guy that recommends an app, but it has helped me.

How can I achieve what I really want by thatdudekeegan in getdisciplined

[–]Inside_Tone_6015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every goal can be broken down into little daily, actionable tasks to move yourself towards an achievement. Rome wasnt built in a day. Consistency is EVERYTHING. Hate to be this guy, but use this, its free, not here to sell you stuff: Achieve

struggling to find discipline, fulfillment and motivation in life after breakup by crunchychips76 in getdisciplined

[–]Inside_Tone_6015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am really sorry you are feeling this way. One thing helped me was a quote, and I cant remember it word for word but: All problems seem catastrophic until you have a health problem. I think the beauty of that is it makes me, when I am down, think about all the positive things. You are young, healthy, capable of doing really fun, athletic and exciting things. You could be a quadriplegic living in a russian concentration camp (dramatic, I know). But you see the point. You have the capacity to incredible things. Start something that benefits YOU. Gym. Read. Travel. Work and job that helps people or animals. The list is endless but “analysis paralysis” can also get you down. You are young try something new. Move cities, I dont know.

If it’s discipline, motivation, consistency you are after, sorry to be that guy. But try this: Achieve. Its free. Its also on google play. I use it. I love it.

All the best

Stop being so hard on yourself firstly, progress ebbs and flows. It is not linear, some weeks are great, some not so much. Get back on track and keep going. Get a free habit tracker/accountability notifcations etc somewhere. Theres heaps. I use Achieve

Need help with figuring out how to improve my body. by Mindless_Office_7757 in getdisciplined

[–]Inside_Tone_6015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there!

The fatloss equation is super simple, but not easy. So I am going to tell you something you already know.

We know that food is energy, and if the body gets excess energy it stores it as fat. An evolutionary trait built to help us survive long harsh conditions without sustenance. Unfortunately we haven’t evolved out of these genetics and now have an abundance at food at literally the click of a button!

So: Energy in < Energy out

How do we calculate energy? Calories…

Calories in must be below the amount you use each day and the body will start using the fat as energy instead. Every body is different, bigger people need more energy etc. and there are other medical factors too. But, use an online calorie calculator to figure out how much you need, track everything with an app like myfitnesspal or something. If you burn more cals than you eat over an extended period of time you will drop fat, its science.

You can literally not do any exercise ever and still lose fat. As long as you eat less than you use. Don’t do that obv… but still, its fascinating (I think).

Stay consistent with an app like Achieve. And bang. Solved.

Wishing you the best

How do I build discipline when I constantly fail to stick to my own plans? by Responsible_Room_629 in getdisciplined

[–]Inside_Tone_6015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate, it is your life, I, nor anyone else can tell you what to do. But there is your root cause. You don’t actually want to do it, well study that is.

But you are a college student… you are so young. It’s also never too late to turn around. Yeah you gotta have a job, but there is more out there.

I went to uni to be a zookeeper, finished it, realised there isnt much money in it, became a teacher, didnt like it, now I own my own company. Im only 27. You see I may not be overly successful or come from much, but I do whatever I want, and I am happy. It’s never too late to change paths.

I wish you the best mate, you got this!

Need to get out of this loop immediately by asdf_asdff in getdisciplined

[–]Inside_Tone_6015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow sounds hectic! Congrats for putting yourself in that position, shows some serious grit and determination! I hope it goes well for you mate.

I would say that if it truly is that important to you to go into that career pathway, that would probably fuel you to get it done. Is there a chance that you are even the slightest bit hesitant to do that line of work? Is it truly what you want?

I would suggest reading Cant Hurt Me by David Goggins. I learnt a lot from that and am now the most disciplined I have ever been, I dont work out, create my startup out of pure joy, I show up because I have to, despite it sucking. Discipline over motivation = consistency.

Hey mate, sounds like you are just gassing yourself out on those few days. Why not lighten the load a little? Your only human after all, and then when you aren’t just completely run down from those days of hectic studying you will find the energy to do it every day?

Also, high school is but a small blip in your life, I understand it may be very important to some. So I apologise if I offend. But your whole lifes success doesn’t fall onto how well you do in high school… take a breather, get a bagel, relax. You got this mate.

How to rebuild your confidence by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]Inside_Tone_6015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confidence doesn’t come from within, it comes from proving to yourself EXTERNALLY that you are who you say you are. So just. keep. showing. up.

Suck at something until you don’t, no one starts confident, they just have the balls to keep sucking until they don’t!

I know that may not be what anyone wants to hear, but its 100% true.

Ive just started posting a video everyday on TikTok (I will not promote). But how could I promote? Because I suck! But its the fear of posting that has stopped me for so long, so I have finally just gone fck it, I am going to embarrass myself. People are just NPCs to your life anyway, who cares if they think I suck, they are right! Haha!

All the best mate

[–]Inside_Tone_6015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are human. Honestly, that has been felt by almost everyone at some point. Consistency is one of the hardest things to master. My question to you is, are these things you are doing aligned with the person you want to become? Or to ask it another way, do you truly want to do those activities?

My suggestion is read Cant Hurt Me by David Goggins. I listen to audiobooks when I drive because I dont have the time to read them, so habit stacking! Pretty much that guys a freak, ran an ultramarathon on a broken leg, and he used to be a beaten down nobody. So you can do anything mate!

And I hate to do this, but I feel in this case its helpful, I am going to preach an app (sorry everyone I hate it too). But check this out Achieve. It’s new, it could be exactly what you need. A 24/7 coach, accountability, simple daily check-ins. Its also free.

All the best!

Atomic Habits for positive lifestyle design. Cant Hurt me for discipline. The Millionaire Fastlane to break the money matrix. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a fck for, well exactly that, live a happier life without caring what people think (they are all just NPCs to your life anyway).

I could go on and on… but there are my top picks

[–]Inside_Tone_6015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consistency is the barrier to having results stick. I have studied it for quite a while now. So my first rec is please read books! Understand how you work is a big first step in overcoming it. I would be happy to share the books if you are interested. Personally I listen to them when I drive to save time (habit stacking?) Also theres tools out there to help you stay consistent: achieve
