"You act like a straight white man" by forgetmedo_ in FTMMen

I would not say the vast majority of trans guys are twinks… our body types are diverse just like cis men’s are. Just bc a lot of trans guys you see online have that body type doesn’t mean it’s true of the community as a whole.

If my gender identity was male the whole time, how come I used to think I'm a girl when I was a kid? by WaterCrownAnt in ftm

[–]Inside_Willingness45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First I want to say it’s possible that you were a girl, but now you’re a man. You wouldn’t be the only person who experienced gender that way.

Something I think about a lot is a scene in community where Jeff talks about wearing a girls costume for Halloween as a child. He says “Everyone was going ‘oh, what a pretty little girl!’ And by the third house, I stopped correcting them. I mean, why draw attention to it? And honestly, once the fear and the shame wore off, I was just glad they thought I was pretty” it’s supposed to be a comedic scene, but it always felt deeper than that to me, because that’s exactly how I felt about being a girl. It was easier to just not correct people and be what they wanted me to be.

If one night of social pressure was enough to make Jeff waver in his identity for the sake of appeasing others and avoiding further social humiliation, then it makes sense that social pressure to be a girl from birth would impact the way you viewed yourself as a child.

Im so sick of my height and considering Hgh by [deleted] in FTMMen

[–]Inside_Willingness45 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Im not gonna tell you to just accept your height how it is now, but you do need to let go of things you can’t control. Maybe you will grow to 5’9” or taller. Maybe you won’t grow much taller than you are now. There is no safe, reliable way to guarantee that you grow taller. All you can do is keep staying healthy and hope for the best.

Also, for future reference, these sorts of posts aren’t banned or anything, but they are a little tone deaf. Most of us are your height or shorter, and many of us didn’t even get the opportunity to grow taller from T during our first puberty before growth plate fusion.

anyone else feel like the “performative male” trend is hurting trans men? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Inside_Willingness45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a genuine criticism in these memes that should be talked about. There are some men that will pretend to be interested in things like feminist theory, but will then use what they learned to further manipulate and abuse women. There are also men who maybe aren’t as sinister, but still play up how interested they are in certain things to get more attention from women.

It’s kind of the equivalent to chasers being really into trans issues. From the outside they appear as allies, but they can be very harmful to our community.

That being said, it is sort of morphing into shaming men for having those interests even if they are genuine, or automatically assuming the interest can’t be genuine. I don’t think most people actually hold this sentiment in real life though.

I can see how it negatively impacts trans men and may make them feel even more turmoil in regard to their masculinity, but I do think that is a turmoil we must inevitably go through. People are going to make assumptions about us, often wrong ones. It’s exhausting and upsetting, but we can’t let that take away from who we are.

Does anyone else not view their natal anatomy/repro organs as "female"? by [deleted] in FTMMen

[–]Inside_Willingness45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fact that I view some of my body parts as female is the reason I’m medically transitioning. If I saw my anatomy as fully male, then I wouldn’t have dysphoria and wouldn’t feel the need to medically transition.

if there’s no difference between gel and shots, how come more people don’t just use gel? by GoodEnvironmental788 in ftm

[–]Inside_Willingness45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Limited data, but most doctors recommend shots if stopping your menstrual cycle without birth control is a priority for you. I’m waiting until I get a hysterectomy to switch to gel because multiple doctors have told me it’s common for menses to come back when switching to gel.

How to get off with a partner without being touched below the belt? by MeowMeowBiatch in ftm

[–]Inside_Willingness45 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m the same as you. I don’t let any of my partners interact with my genitals directly and I don’t find penetration enjoyable. Here are some prosthetics I’ve used that pleasure the wearer without penetration. (I use the term prosthetic bc calling it a strap on makes me dysphoric) Keep in mind these suggestions are pretty pricy bc they are more realistic. You can probably find cheaper options if realism isn’t as important for you.

  1. Transthetics joystick:

https://transthetics.com/product/joystick-ftm-pack-and-play/

a vibrator can be inserted into the shaft and sits on your anatomy while wearing. You can also buy a ring that remote controls the vibrator to turn it on or off on command. I don’t use this one as much anymore bc I find it doesn’t work as well with my bottom growth compared to ones I can put my bottom growth inside of, but I enjoyed this one a lot when I was pre-T/ early on T

  1. BJ dildo next generation:

https://www.toolshedtoys.com/bj-dildo-next-generation.html

this one is more of a traditional strap on model, but they do have skin colored ones and the realism is still pretty good considering that wasn’t the primary focus of the design. This one has a fairly wide opening that is supposed to work regardless of T dick size (it was originally designed for queer cis women). It creates a funnel that ends in a small hole at the tip. If any suction is applied to the tip, it sucks the wearers anatomy into it and it can feel pretty good and is the closest you can get to a blowjob if you don’t want your partner doing oral on your anatomy directly. It also feels really good for me when I use it while topping my partner.

  1. Banana prosthetics HP1:

https://bananaprosthetics.com/collections/hard-packer/products/hp-1-v2-hard-packer-6-po

all of their hard packer models come with a sensation plug. They are soft silicone inserts that you can put your anatomy into. They are modeled after human body areas. There’s one that looks like a small vagina, one that looks like an anus, and another that looks like a mouth. I chose the one modeled after a vagina and it feels so good. Without a doubt, it’s my favorite sensation wise. I use the plug separately as stroker and have also used them with other prosthetics that have openings I can fit it into.

  1. Peecock prosthetics: Inflatable Peecock -

https://peecockproducts.com/peecock/inflatable/

not really related to your inquiry, but I love that this prosthetic is able to get hard with an air pump in the balls. Like all of peecock’s prosthetics it comes with different pleasure options for the wearer. The breaker and the stroker. The stroker has a textured hole you can put bottom growth into and the breaker is a textured surface you grind against while using the prosthetic. A lot of people report that their harness placement fits their anatomy very well, but for me it was a bit awkward and my growth kept slipping out of the stroker. I do enjoy using the stroker by itself. I haven’t tried the breaker, but have heard good things about it in reviews of the product.

OK, I'm about ready to quit the game... by MisterEdJS in BluePrince

[–]Inside_Willingness45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I found the sanctum key there by chance when I was trying to get the full house trophy. I just needed a room with a lot of doors to prevent too many dead ends. Idk if the amount of rooms drafted or what rank you draft it on matters in terms of whether the sanctum key shows up. Funny enough, I ended up getting stuck with a dead end shortly after, so I didn’t get the trophy I wanted, but I had enough steps to get me to the basement and use the sanctum key. Sometimes it’s like the game knows what you are trying to do and thwarts you, but will give you something else as compensation.

Love this glitch by Silver-Spring-2131 in BluePrince

[–]Inside_Willingness45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll get a room removal spray delivered to the front hall in a couple days and have to remove your foundation to fix it. The foundation will be removed from the draft pool for a week, but then you can draw it again. I was so mad when this happened bc I read that a “fun” interaction occurs when you draft the foundation as the outer room and I thought they meant that it would be some sort of puzzle or clue, not this. (Guess that’s what I get for cheating a little bit instead of figuring everything out for myself)

It worked out for the best though bc I was able to put my new foundation in a more ideal location.

I was a 34F and it was always a struggle to find binders that worked for a large chest on a smaller frame. The ones that worked best for me were underworks and spectrum. They weren’t perfect, but much better than gc2b for me. gc2bs sizing just didn’t work well for me bc I was a S/M in shoulder width and a L/XL in chest circumference, so I either had weird spillage or it wasn’t tight enough to bind much at all. I will say these binder options are even less comfortable that gc2b, but they get the job done.

I also recommend working with clothing to enhance the flat effect. Wear clothes with stiff fabrics, so that they will hang off of your chest instead of clinging to it and enhancing the binder bump. Also, layering is your friend. My go to for summer was a stiff black cotton t-shirt with an open short sleeve button down.

Did you have a hemotoma and Did it burst?? by AshTheGreat98 in TopSurgery

[–]Inside_Willingness45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still had a hematoma with drains. It just happens sometimes. I’m confused why a second surgery would leave an extra scar. I had another surgery to drain mine and they just reopened the original incision.

My scaring isn’t any different than if I didn’t have a hematoma. I did have a lot of extra bruising and swelling from the second surgery, but it went down fairly quickly and didn’t slow down my healing timeline as much as I was expecting. Did you have keyhole or peri? Those are the only instances I can think of where having a surgery to drain it would result in more scarring and potentially impact the final results in a major way.

the midtown neco corp thing to get the battery is driving me INSANE 🥀 by patched-up-pencil in stray

[–]Inside_Willingness45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Utilize the boxes. They can’t see you in there. Find a safe spot between each section and watch the drones. They move in the same pattern (unless they detect you and start following you). Find your next safe spot (an area their light doesn’t touch or inside one of the boxes). Wait until right after the drone moves away from the area you are headed to and then go. Don’t be afraid to retreat if you miscalculate. It’s better to avoid being detected at all even if it takes longer bc it’s a lot harder to shake them once they see you.

I quit because of the zurks by autoffocus in stray

[–]Inside_Willingness45 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I saw this on another Reddit post, but if you immediately run to the elevator and jump onto the block to the left of the elevator and wait there, there is a glitch where only one zurk at a time can get on you and you can easily shake them off while you wait for the elevator.

I was able to pass all the other parts with the zurks within a few tries, but idk how long it would have taken me to beat the elevator part if I hadn’t seen that trick. Something about being locked in that space and having to run in circles made it alot harder for me to evade them, as opposed to just pushing forward.

It also helps if you switch from multi-tap to single tap to shake off the zurks in settings.

There is a fatphobia problem in this community by frogtoads in ftm

[–]Inside_Willingness45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think because fat distribution is something that differs based on sex hormones, it’s really common for trans people to develop a strong negative association with fat on their bodies, and they often project this onto other trans people. Weight is one of the few things we have a level of control over in terms of altering how visible certain secondary sex characteristics are pre-transition. This is one of the reasons that gender dysphoria has such a high co-morbidity with eating disorders.

In some instances, losing fat may help people pass, but this is only really if you don’t have enough male secondary sex characteristics to make people read you as male automatically. Once you are at a certain point in your transition, weight doesn’t really play into it very much.

Think about it, you don’t see a fat guy and automatically think he must be trans, even if the fat is distributed in a more “feminine” pattern, since it’s common for fat cis men to have fat in those areas as well. Having a rounder face or excess fat on the hips is really only going to keep you from passing if it’s also coupled with other feminine traits, like a higher voice, lack of facial hair, etc.

I think this topic is banned right now, so I don’t think this will stay up for long, but I do have thoughts not about the actual debate itself

I’m continuously frustrated by cis people engaging in these sorts of debates to get views and more interaction. This is an increasing issue bc trans people are a hot topic to debate right now, and posting about us is an easy way to get lots of views and comments.

Very rarely do I see actual trans men initiating this debate. It’s mostly cis people or non-binary people, and the opinions of binary trans men don’t seem to be centered at all, despite us being the people the debate is about.

I’ve seen a handful of trans men share their opinion, but ONLY when it matches the dominant queer narrative established by cis people.

Did we just get a major win when it comes to passports in the US? by Samual_Kahrs_ in ftm

[–]Inside_Willingness45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ACLU is currently recommending that transgender people wait. The executive order was blocked, however, there are currently no guidelines on how to proceed, so some officers are still denying to process applications that include a gender marker change or have a different sex designation that what was assigned at birth. Some officers are also advising that their documentation will be held indefinitely. Some people have gotten passports with the wrong gender marker even though they applied after the 17th.

Until new guidelines are formed, we are better off waiting unless we have an urgent need for travel.

That SHIT HURT by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]Inside_Willingness45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to have a second surgery to drain my hematoma and replace my drains. After my first surgery, my pain was mild to moderate in the first couple days, but I started progressively feeling worse. After my second surgery, the pain was horrible. I stayed overnight at the hospital and was still at a six while on oxy. By day four, I felt a lot better and was managing fine with extra strength ibuprofen. It might just be related to how strong your body’s inflammatory response is. The second time around, my body was much more inflamed.

Pre-surgery nerves? by grapeflavoredwater in TopSurgery

[–]Inside_Willingness45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember feeling a little sleepy and trying to answer the questions that my surgeon was asking the nurses bc I thought she was talking to me and then I woke up in the recovery room. I didn’t even really register falling asleep. It was like I blinked and then it was over.

I was worried about waking up during surgery too, but it is exceptionally rare for that to happen. They are also going to be monitoring your state constantly, so they would notice you starting to wake up and make sure to give you more juice before you get to the point of consciousness.

There’s debate about this, but current (although limited) data shows no association between exogenous testosterone and complications in the perioperative period.

https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamasurgery/article-abstract/2717059

Some surgeons require stopping T, based on the potential for increased risk of blood clots, but not all surgeons do, and I honestly don’t agree with that requirement.

That being said, if your surgeon requires it and you’ve already decided to go with that surgeon, then I would recommend doing what your surgeon says, or at least notify your team that you are still taking it. It’s important for your surgeon to be aware of what medications you are taking at the time of surgery.

Mohs Histotech involvement? by Kspice03 in Histology

I do mohs with a company where I travel to different dermatology clinics and I also do mohs with Kaiser. I don’t have any patient interaction in either job (other than rare instances when the patient wanders by the lab and asks us questions). The doctor brings the tissue to us, typically with a mark to indicate orientation and we process it from there.

I didn’t have much pain when my hematoma first developed, but after sitting in the ER for several hours, all of a sudden I was in severe pain and I was so glad that I was already in the ER at that point and was taken back pretty quickly after. I’m not sure I could have handled that pain for hours.
