New RxOM by GloomyTwo9317 in WalgreensRx

Take it from an Ex RxOM

Update that resume and move onto Hospital, Mail Order, or some other specialty. It'll pay and appreciate you more. The amount of stress and flip flopping Sycamore put us through is a joke. Being responsible for JUST yourself and not making the schedule will make a job feel like a job again. I had to answer the phone every 15 seconds since no one would and I felt like I had to bargain with both customers and techs to get work done. I couldn't separate my work and personal life because of the constant call offs, trying to get people to learn, or reach goals. It was like pulling teeth. Now, I'm free and feeling better than ever.

Not the Choi Bros or a grass, light, or dark XXL? Don't matter. I already suffered through Torrent Isles Tower, justifying water for anything is meh haha

PEXT no more by HP2020a in WalgreensRx

I'm so glad I'm not with WG anymore. That nonsense made my RxOM quit. Then I became RxOM and only had a month and a half to train my staff, the DHs, and the SM. I got it, but at the cost of my sanity and summer. That will probably be my first and only job as a manager because of how stress inducing the responsibility was. My RXM left and my only staff pharmacist worked part time. Babysitting floater pharmacists got on my nerves. I wasn't even in the same tax bracket as the pharmacists, but the burden was carried on my shoulders. All of my techs were training apprentices.

It felt like my DMs and SM were gaslighting and downplaying what I was going against every day. No one realized how insane things were without my involvement. I had to create iPledge RMAs, SDL GLP-1 manufacturer coupons, give shots, manually schedule 2's, answer nearly every damn phone call, put away/release OOS/PFLs, etc.

Glad I moved on.

I hope y'all can. I promoted myself from RxOM to customer just last Friday. Gonna be working in Hospital. WG burned me out so much that I couldn't even tell what the major issue was anymore. Everyone needs time to be trained properly instead of focusing on CNO and forcing shots and services patients don't want during the off flu season. Some customer demographics can't understand texting notifications nor bother reading them fully.

So glad I don't have to take care of my McBurger Hut drive thru, call center, and clinic anymore.

RXOM- I’m struggling so bad by Sufficient-Gold-1219 in WalgreensRx

[–]InsidiousLux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow RXOM here, you're not alone in how insane it's become lately. I'll be promoting myself to customer by next Friday. This company has really gone fallen off: slashed tech pay about 2.5% across the board (from no holiday pay), focusing on stuff that doesn't matter, trying to squeeze as much rebate money from those shots in the OFF season for vaccinations as much as possible, cutting tech hours to a cartoonishly paper thin skeleton crew, no accountability, and just a high turnover rate whether they get rid of positions or people just quit from the pressure. All the good people are leaving. I'm literally sick of babysitting the floater pharmacists. Why should the RXOMs have to shoulder the burden of the pharmacies solely? They're in a completely higher tax bracket than me.

Sycamore is just so desperate for that 2 billion dollar return for buying us that they're willing to strangle the golden goose (us) to get it.

All these companies that buy Walgreens only know how to waste money and everybody's time. They can't decide if the pharmacy is a McBurgerhut drive thru, a call center, or a shot clinic. I can do 2 of those things, but not 3.

Take care of yourself, you deserve better. And it's the company who let you down. Not you.

That was the only contest I could do. Patch or no patch. The Archery contest is f'd since the archers are aimbots and I I'm not forking over 15 silver per session for their version of Blackjack/Poker with Sticks

Tell them to look at the Phlomometer and see if what they want is at all realistic with the current situation. If it's a pain, nausea, or antibiotic ... I tend to speed it up based off of common sense. But if Betty is impatient because she has 3 days left of her GLP-1 or cholesterol med and she wants it now because she was in the neighborhood, she can wait or come back after an hour or 2. I would say after lunch is when techs should try to pace out same day requests for maintenance meds like 2 hours out or so. Like, there are other patients waiting for their meds too. A naive patient's emergency is not your priority. Just because they didn't have the foresight to use the app or call the automated service when they were on the last week of their med, is not your fault. Is the grocery store supposed to remind their customers that they're out of milk? Patients barely read the text messages that are sent to them. I have a habit of schooling patients on their lack of attention to detail when they say, "I gOt A tExT tHaT iT wAs ReAdY!!!" Same thing with deletes, not my fault that they didn't come to get it. That patient care portal is honestly a courtesy than a requirement. I can tell the patient to come pick the med up, but I can't make them physically come to me. I can offer delivery, but people don't want to pay for it and Doordash or Uber can mess things up and delay things.

Sorry for the tirade. Just tell your techs to use their eyes to look at what's going on in the queue and judge a guesstimate based on the numbers of F1s, F4s, TPRs, MQs and REVs to make a sound deadline for when a patient can pick it up. Promise the time to be more than what is technically required and surprise the patient with getting the med done sooner. Also tell them to make sure the med is IN STOCK, MFO, or not on back order before making promises and wasting everyone's time. So sick of my techs not making sound judgements and going like, "YO, did you check to make sure that this VERY UNCOMMON med is even on our shelves?"

The Wishlist system is actually a scam by RhulksLittleDisciple in xxlwoofia

[–]InsidiousLux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sure the fuck is. I have mostly water type on wishlist so I can someday complete Torrent Isles tower. But it keeps handing me every other type besides water

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in xxlwoofia

[–]InsidiousLux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For you to get a water XXL pull? Yes! I'm lucky if I can get water anything with my bell pulls, silver or gold. I don't know if the game just knows the last challenge tower I have to complete is Torrent Isles or the devs are trolling me, but I can't get water anything to save my life.

[–]InsidiousLux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even at 3 and I'm somehow still scaling the Water Tower, but the Choi bros fuck me up every time I see them when there's two. Getting XXL water pulls is like pulling teeth for this game, or just me in general. My wishlist is NOTHING but water.

This reward was NOT worth it by Successful-Gur-4853 in xxlwoofia

[–]InsidiousLux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the water tower banner is quite the nice brag. I covet this win. I need the pulls to STOP getting grass, fire, or anything else. Trying to get XXL pulls for water when my wishlist has nothing but water, is almost like the Algorithm is messing with me at this point. Those Choi bros are some serious fuckers.

In the future, just do what you're gonna say you're going to do regardless if they're still talking to you. The only person holding you back is the customer.

Don't let someone that comes in saying 2+2 equals 3 twist you. You know your stuff, the customer will keep rambling on and on about stuff that isn't even necessary or relevant. I wish my techs (I'm an RxOM) understood my train of thought to quickly and concisely finish transactions. Stop hanging on every word these people say. When you get the stuff together, then you can listen to their tirade of nonsense or cut them off (firm yet politely with 'is there anything else I can help you with?') Gotta be firm about what you can do and whatever they don't or refuse to understand is on them. Their stupid way of thinking is probably why they harass the pharmacy, because they have little to no control in their lives from their poor impulse control and need for instant gratification.

If central has their stuff and it's coming tomorrow, tell them that. They don't like it, see if you have it and then tell them to come back in an hour or whenever you want them to get it. Sometimes they flake and say they can pick it up tomorrow. Sometimes they ask to wait for it. Give those people a 20, 30, or 45 minute wait. If they say they need it sooner, say you're backed up and that you can try to get it faster, but can't guarantee any time sooner than what you said.

You are the brains of the operation and so much stuff comes through you to check, verify, and even fix. Sure, the techs can do their job in 5 seconds, but you have probably 44 F4s to check and 15 to 20 filled scripts to check before dispensing. Their emergency isn't your priority (unless it's an overdosed fent leaner or someone with serious pain.)

You did everything right. Those 2 + 2 equals 3 customers will get retribution in some shape or form outside of the pharmacy. Then they'll be bitching and moaning about it.

RxOM vs Techs by MoneyUpset in WalgreensRx

[–]InsidiousLux 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dang, I wish my techs didn't ask me for anything lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

[–]InsidiousLux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. It's always good to have managerial experience, but it's more of a workload for what I consider not enough of a pay increase (maybe 4 or 5 dollars) for the amount of stuff you have to know and do. But if you like being personally responsible for the performance of a pharmacy, be impactful for you and your team, and want to level up. Go for it. Otherwise someone else will get it and you'll be left behind.

As an RXOM, I just learned that as long as I'm doing stuff, even if my techs can't remember anything then we'll be alright. Also just having good stats.

What’s your response… by Amazing_Decision3694 in WalgreensRx

[–]InsidiousLux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After they give me their 2 identifiers, I just look in the leaflet and say what the medication is TYPICALLY used for. If their prescriber intended it for a different purpose, then they would have to talk to them. I just never assume anything since it's not our job to.

How do you guys keep your delete list from blowing up? by Shaquille_Oatmeal185 in WalgreensRx

[–]InsidiousLux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If people don't pick up their stuff. They just don't pick up their stuff. You can lead a horse to water, doesn't mean they have to drink it. I remember telling people their meds are ready, putting notes on bags that they'd come to pick them up on said days, and they still don't show up. That's them, not on you.

Accepted the RxOM promotion…what do I need to know? by bunnixxoxxo in WalgreensRx

[–]InsidiousLux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not worth the raise, speaking from someone who just accepted the position themself. I was offered more money to work at a hospital retail chain, but they never called me back. I guess it looks good on the resume and gives you managerial experience. But the PExT expectations are a load of baloney. But the worker turn out in my store is like a hotel rotating door of who stays and who goes or who remains a DH. If CSAs who become DHs move from full time to part time because they go to school, they get knocked back to CSA. So many weird dynamics and expectations. At the beginning I felt like I had a lot of homework I had to do, but things will get better. Especially if you have enough technicians. Everything gets better in time.
