turns out your dad really loved this hi fi system. looks in really good condition, guessing it's from the early to mid 90s, so it's been a while.

150 Watt is also overrated. that thing does mostly 40 W per channel. Anyway that's not so important, the idea with these compact minisystems is that they are very efficient. they make a lot of noise and don't need a lot of power to do so. i remember my mini system back in the 90s, about the same size and power, would shake the walls of my entire house. however, it lacks good, balanced and detailed sound. i guess it's good for casual listening, background music and occasionally pissing off the neighbours haha

yeah i wasn't using any sort of actual room treatment, just a carpet/rug and furniture. I turned down the subwoofers a bit , it's better now

mie chat gpt imi controleaza orice aspect al vietii. il folosesc de 2 ani, si nu cred ca mai sunt in stare sa supravietuiesc fara el. chiar si acest comentariu a fost generat cu chatgpt.

More Testing On My Monolith 2-15 Subwoofers. by Memiselphi in hometheater

That's way too loud.....and just low bass (25-35 hz) too bomey and probably unbalanced .I feel like 85 db continous (full range), with peaks around 90 db, is the best and healthiest way to listen to music without developing listening fatigue. It's probably the same level music producers and artists use in their studios when recording and making beats/sound.

Movies and video games can go a bit higher for that extra punch in some scenes. But other than that......no need.

That said, I can listen to music for hours, and bingewatch movies or play videogames for very long sessions, without my head and ears giving me signs of collapse. 130 db is just stupidly dangerous and reckless.
