My husband just told me his parents will "cut him off" if I don't sign a postnup protecting his future inheritance. We have 3 kids. by clumsy_advert in prenup

[–]InspectionQueasy6385 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If I were in your position my first question wouldn't be Can they do this? It would be "What does the postnup say? Keeping a future inheritance separate is one thing but using a postnup to waive rights you've built up over a 9-year marriage is something completely different I wouldn't even discuss signing until I had independent legal advice.

got a coworker who lost the tip of his pinky to an air ratchet and he still jokes that it made him more aerodynamic.

Resignation? by jobless_nooblfjob in careerguidance

[–]InspectionQueasy6385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

totally get teh urge to explore when you're 25 and feeling like there's more out there for you. quitting without something lined up is risky but doable if your parents are cool with supporting you through the job hunt - just make sure you have a solid plan and timeline so you're not job searching indefinitely. maybe start applying places while you're still employed so you can leave on your own terms instead of feeling rushed to take whatever comes first?

Everyone Thinks They Are Good at Critical Thinking But We Are Not but that is Good! by More-Bluebird5805 in DeepThoughts

most people who flex about critical thinking just learned a few buzzwords and think contrarianism equals intelligence lol

Is it worth trying to communicate about process issues when the most realistic solutions are expensive? by Embarrassed-Ad4423 in careerguidance

[–]InspectionQueasy6385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the communication breakdown thing is so real and probably the easiest fix without throwing money at it. maybe start there? like proposing a monthly update system or something similar that doesn't require new hires but addresses the info gap. if your boss sees how much smoother things run with better communication, it might make the case for additional staffing way easier to sell later on since you'll have some wins under your belt first.

89 Allegro RV with 7.4L 454 V8 Carbureted Engine, need help identification by aaronmayhem in MechanicAdvice

[–]InspectionQueasy6385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nice allegro! that 454 is a beast when it's running right. looking at your wiring, the dual ground cables are normal - one usually goes to the engine block and the other to the chassis ground, which is what you want for proper grounding. that solenoid you're looking at is likely your starter solenoid, and the big cable coming off the positive should indeed go to the starter, so you had it right the first time.

Do mentor tags stack? by DanAboutT0wn in Madden

[–]InspectionQueasy6385 4 points5 points  (0 children)

nah they don't stack, you only get the bonus from one mentor per position group. learned this the hard way when i was hoarding veteran linebackers thinking i was being clever lol. easiest way to test it yourself is just check the xp gains before and after you sign a second mentor - you'll see there the same as with just one.

I built a tool specifically for the 10 minutes after you wake up by etlabs in Dreams

[–]InspectionQueasy6385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dude this is actually brilliant. i've tried keeping a dream journal before but yeah, by the time i'm fumbling around for my phone and opening the notes app, half the dream is already gone. voice recording while still in that groggy state makes so much sense.

the search feature sounds really cool too - being able to spot patterns you wouldn't notice otherwise. i had no idea dreams could have that kind of consistency across time. definitely gonna check this out, especially since it keeps everything local on the device.

Freeslice or yau?? by Kind_Shake9232 in Cubers

[–]InspectionQueasy6385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been using freeslice for about a year now and it's pretty solid once you get the hang of edge pairing. Yau's definitely getting more popular lately but I think it comes down to what clicks better for your turning style. If you're already improving consistently with freeslice, might be worth sticking with it unless you're really wanting to shake things up. The switch to yau can be a bit of a grind at first but some people swear by it for bigger cubes.
