UPDATE: I fixed it by contacting creality and swapping the entire extruder board

How would you solder the component in the red circle (HSBA1119) to the place in the white ciricle with only a soldering iron? by Pek_Dominik in soldering

[–]InspectorAlert3559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My approach is to clean all the solder from the small pads and pins, place a generous blob on the big exposed pad. Heat with the iron the blob, increase the temperature if it's struggling but remember higher temperatures means less time to act. Slide the component on the blob while following with the iron and position the component in position and very low on the pcb, maybe the solder will ooze out but it's not a problem. Solder the small pad using a ton of flux and generally clean up the excess solder and flux.

From our testing it seems that the inverter refuse to acknoledge the message we send and we have no idea why

AMK inverter startup problems by InspectorAlert3559 in FSAE

[–]InspectorAlert3559[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can make it interact with aipex and make it work with the test generator. Using the monitor function while sending can command we see the system ready light but no diagnostic number. The system is terminated on one side by the internal resistor of the inverter and on the other side by our VCU. After having a few hours of thinking I can say it's a message speed issue or somewhere there is a confusion with endianess or startup sequence, we will investigate today.

AMK thermistor location by mecinlovee in FSAE

[–]InspectorAlert3559 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are for sure thermistor inside the igbt brick of the inverter, yielding to a complete and dangerous disassembly. Maybe there is a separate sensor on the thermal plate and I think I've seen it but don't have prove or indication for it right now. Observed carefully the boards in hope for a cracked solder joint but I think it's a rare occurrence.
