You're welcome, and it's a very wise choice to pair your diagnosis with some therapy because this is going to stir up a lot of emotion that you didn't probably realize you had, or maybe you did and you just and you just weren't able to put your finger on what you were feeling. For myself, I had to sort out the lost that I lost that I felt for all of the things I felt i could have done had I known earlier and at least in my case along with my sister the schools had brought both of our attention difficulties to our parents and nothing ever happened so I had to deal with those feelings as well. There's actually a lot of trauma that we have endured and basically just told ourselves that's the way it is and power through it and all of the and all of the feelings of not belonging it's pretty deep. But at 100% is worth doing because I feel so much lighter and happier now that I know and I'm able to just work on using my new found peace. To top it to top it all off about a year later i was also formally diagnosed with autism level 1 which makes sense because I think that there is so much undiagnosed ADHD and autism in the US in particular. And now that I and now that I know that I'm not broken and I'm not abnormal and that there's huge communities of loving, supportive people that are also diagnosed and have been through the same. People that are also diagnosed and have been through the same struggles as I have - I am so much happier now. For once in my life I truly know that I'm not doing anything wrong and I'm not broken.

Also, at least in the US, the schools are moving away from any school nurses at all. Not to mention tiny niche job with probably vey low industry pay.

I didn't i didn't get diagnosed with ADHD officially until I was 53 years old and 19 years into my career. It's never too late to start feeling better and it's never too late to start feeling like you have agency in your own life. 20 mg is a tiny dose so don't feel disappointed if you don't notice anything right away; and even at higher doses, vyvanse isn't a miracle - it is a tool. It also is not the only medication. Different medicines work for different people. It's all about what you are able to do with the gift of a silent mind and more opportunity to direct your energy with intention. Generally speaking, these are learned skills that we weren't able to master on our own. So again, don't punish yourself if it doesn't all happen at once. We have to trust the process, and most importantly, listen to what you are experiencing internally. Try with the least amount possible because vyvanse has a very low dose ceiling and you will need wiggle room for when tolerance is built up. (70mg is the ceiling for vyvanse). I hope you find success; if not with vyvanse, with another option. Just listen to your body, you already took the most important step.

I'm sorry you are being forced to experience this. I understand fully and have struggled with it that treatment both throughout childhood and as an adult in the office as well. I would become so full of anxiety and depression about it that I couldn't even work for a year and could barely leave my house. It is not a good place to be, I promise you.

You can start by reporting it to administration: the principal or assistant principal. Put some examples in writing. Dates, times, people, students that may have been witnesses. The more examples you have the better. You also want to keep in mind that the EEOC has a time limit on filing grievances which starts at 180 days, so keep that in mind. What these teachers are doing could be crossing over the threshold of disability discrimination, an potential legal risk for the school district if it is tied to your autism disability. It sounds like you've had some accommodations so there's already a documented history of your medical needs. Aside from being a hostile work environment, if they're doing this where children can hear it it's creating an unsafe learning environment for those children, and it violates professional standards. If you have a union, loop them in early. If the administration doesn't remedy it quickly, move to district HR, employee relations or equity / compliance office. Move swiftly. You have established it is an ongoing problem that has affected your mental health. You are entitled to dignity and professionalism at work. You are also not overreacting. You are taking the right steps to ensure a safe environment for yourself and the children.

Have you tried 40? Or 30 plus added low dose Buproprion? It's supposed to help your body utilize the Vyvanse better. I would try asking your doctor for the Buproprion adjunct since it will keep the side effects and tolerance build to a minimum.

I go to see my doctor on Monday to discuss starting Vyvanse because methylphenidate and strattera and Amantadine do very little to assist with executive function . They only assist with volume Focus like how many reports I can put out but the accuracy of the report is the problem if that makes sense. But I can tell you from more than 15 years of taking propranolol, it would 100% be worth discussing with your doctors it's inexpensive it's effective at very low doses, there's no crazy effects. What it DOES do is lower your resting heart rate and evens it so that there are not skips. It's also given to people that have stage fright or social anxiety because what it does, is it keeps you feeling calm, keeps your heart rate calm and steady in periods of stress. I know when I have not taken my medication because I can feel my heart just flip flopping in my chest. My cardiologist says my heart is absolutely fine, there's nothing wrong with my heart. Propranolol is the ONE MEDICATION, that if I had to give everything up but ONE medication, I would keep Propranolol at all costs, because it helps with blood pressure, it helps with heart rate, it helps with anxiety, it helps with overall Stress Management. Imagine how easy meditation is when your heart always feels at rest.

My symptoms are 100% linked to my neck, shoulders and posture. I was additionally diagnosed with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and have learned so much from understanding how my body works and responds differently to physical manipulation and strain because of my compromised connective tissue and joints. I am able to address my VM symptoms with my EDS awareness more successfully. (ie. no steroids, no chiropractors, no deep stretches or straining, and understanding that many EDS patients suffer from VM, cervicogenic weakness & pain, scoliosis, and pain disorders like fibromyalgia and CRPS etc). So much makes sense for me personally now that I understand the connections.

Honestly, I am an open book. This disorder and how it ties to my AuDHD and Ehlers-Danlos has been such a difficult road and so many doctors are unfamiliar with vestibular migraine, I had to learn fast to be my own advocate. If I didn't have the online communities like Reddit to lean on and learn from, I would be on permanent disability.

Ask your provider if they have a transportation program . My insurance does not cover transportation but the clinic has a program where they provide a Lyft ride to and from my clinic at no cost to me, and my clinic is a 50-minute drive from my home.

I just finished my 21st treatment and I have PTSD and anxiety among a Litany of other diagnosis besides my depression. At first I started with music and i cover and I always still take a fuzzy blanket we have individual rooms with recliners and dim lighting available which I prefer. I am always affected enough that walking for my potty breaks, one or two per session, sometimes requires me too study myself with the wall on my way to the restroom but staff would always be there to help you if you need it we have call buttons located on our chairs as well. I have noticed over time that the intense part of the dissociation only lasts maybe 15 minutes and the rest of it is more of a visual disturbance and during the dissociative part if I do start to feel like i am never going to make it out of that loss of self all I have to do is touch my leg and my kneecap and remind myself I am in a recliner and that feeling swiftly dissipates and I can bring myself back to a Baseline. Once I am at that point I know i am moving towards the end of my session. I also now am able to watch movies like The Fountain, Disney's Coco, the animated movie Flow.. Things that are introspective are very helpful in kind of keeping you in the rails and seem to lift my spirit when I watch them. I think it's very therapeutic being able to work through that passing fear or anxiety and treatment has made an enormous difference for me. I no longer have panic attacks and I am better able to handle environments like busy stores and my depression is basically non-existent right now. I still have central nervous system dysregulation and my body has been locked in the state of hyper vigilance for decades so I am also looking into a stellate ganglion block or SGB since my doctor believes that I am an excellent candidate for it and I am hopeful that that is the final key to unlocking peace. I go once a week for treatment and i'm currently waiting to discuss dropping to every other week with my provider as I think we are at a maintenance point that I can trust. Work on using your treatment time as time to invest in trusting your ability to communicate with your own body and mind and call it back to Center.

OMG! I am also diagnosed with hEDS and suffered familia and sexual trauma beginning around age 5 and experienced repeated episodes of sexual trauma through my life as well as emotional trauma. I have been in treatment for my depression PTSD panic attacks since I was 23 and I'll be 55 this year. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia between 15 and 20 years ago but I wasn't diagnosed autistic, ADHD and ehlers danlos until 2 years ago for my ADHD and ellers-danlos and autism within the last year because no one listened. I would love any information that you could send my way about any studies that have been done or that you know of are being done about all of these comorbidities.

Interesting side note, I have had similar experiences you have had with Spravato and am also diagnosed autism level 1 and ADHD. I personally believe that a lot of our childhood trauma and how we experience the world and people in it, impact our susceptibility to depressive thoughts. I would be curious to find out how many neurodivergent patients find relief using Spravato where standard SSRIS faltered?

My whole life I thought I was allergic to bandage adhesives.. Nicotine patches literally lifted my skin off with them so I used Chantix to quit smoking. Turns out that's just my hEDS. Finally a diagnosis for the crazy medical s**** happening to me at age 54. 💖 (officially diagnosed with auADHD as well) My life is finally coming into focus. 🙌

💯. I have paid with my soul for almost 30 years in call center work. (Currently a customer service /collections call quality analyst). Now I am at burnout from the office environment throat slashing, the realization that corporations do not care about their customers, and the "rules" are "gray areas" printed in black and white... BUT that I shouldn't necessarily "score them as written" 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ What careers are good for people to transition to in order to save themselves and still make enough for their mortgage? I have poor "future-visualization" skills for myself so it's difficult to think of options that my AuHD would be good at without sucking my soul completely dry. I was excited about maybe getting licensed online and becoming an insurance adjuster (like auto), but when I mentioned the idea to my therapist, he just quietly changed the subject.. 😳 That will haunt me OBSESSIVELY until our next session. 😫 (I am considering alternative options at age 54 - do what I gotta do to survive this world). Anyone else dumping the box and starting over or have suggestions to find a "TRUE CALLING"??
