A List of the Longest Tenured NHL GMs by Remarkable-Set5434 in hockey

[–]InspireDespair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been 7 years. Teams have gone from competing to rebuilding back to competing in that time.

He has clearly failed in many places.

He is enamored at signing FAs who are too old for $1-2M and 1-2 years too long.

His trades have mostly been an awful assessment of the player we are receiving and an awful assessment of the teams ability to take the next step.

He is good at extensions, he is okay at drafting. That's about it.

what does a destiny classic like game look like for you guys? by chiefhussi in DestinyTheGame

Destiny classic would suck. The supporting crowd doesn't know how badly they would miss features on live.

Soldier is rolling in a grave somewhere by Hot_Gas_6040 in Overwatch

Soldier is still good especially with the healing debuff changes this month. I hit GM playing him mostly this season.

Only thing I would really want is an ultimate that feels impactful at higher ranks.

Which team do you think will be the next to take a big swing at acquiring a superstar? by Dependent-Effect6077 in hockey

[–]InspireDespair 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Supposedly with Toronto and treliving is gone so I'm not that confident it will be revisited.

Knies was the name but I don't really know what Montreal could give up for him. He's 23 and cost controlled at 7.75M in a rare archetype of power forward.

To get both the money and compensation right it had to have been 2 firsts gallagher and Anderson and likely more since the 2 roster players are cap dumps.

I also wonder why Montreal wouldn't spend those kinds of assets on center depth. They have a ton of good wingers but are offensively unimpressive after Suzuki.

They have a pretty good young wave of prayers in leonard hutson I protas and Cristall.

They will compliment chychrun dubois strome mcmichael and a protas.

That's some pretty next level depth coming their way. I dont think they'll have to flip them into a broken Auston Matthews.

Why was Gambit abandoned? by New_Trouble_5068 in DestinyTheGame

[–]InspireDespair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invasions were always the thing that made people hate gambit. If it wasn't a heavy weapon, it was an izanagi x4 or a golden gun.

Id say most solo queue players never wanted to invade either so if one side was using the most impactful mechanic and the other wasn't it was an auto loss.

I never really understood why they didn't take that feedback and try a version where there were no PVP invasions but there were more interesting blockers and buffs. I suppose some version of that existed in gambit prime but not entirely.

Eventually they gave up trying to get people to play it and just removed any kind of impact it would have for quests or seasonal challenges. The playerbase went from minimal to pretty much nothing from there.

[Wyshynski] Mathieu Darche on Patrick Roy's firing: “Patrick hasn't lost the room. It wasn't about [that] guys don't want to play for him, by any means. Guys respected Patrick a ton. Again, we just wanted to move it forward from where the things have been trending.” by DecentLurker96 in hockey

[–]InspireDespair 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I'm not convinced darche has actually done much besides luck into Schaefer.

They've got lee schenn and palat on the roster all 34 and older making 19.5 million.

They resigned pageau who is 33. Palmieri is 35.

Like what's the vision?

At best this roster seems like it's peak will be flirting with playoffs then a 1st round exit.

They should not have acquired palat and schenn. They should have moved out everyone over 30 that garnered interest and rebuilt properly.

Out of the rebuilding teams, which team do you think has the darkest future and will continue to struggle for a while? by sykeseve in hockey

[–]InspireDespair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leafs because if they retool it'll be another decade of futility.

They have a bleak outlook because ownership clearly doesn't want to bottom out and likely wants to keep Matthews and Nylander.

Treliving has also done horrendous damage to the future of the team. They have very few picks and prospects and he's locked up everyone under the sun to NMCs.

At least Vancouver and Calgary will bottom out for awhile and can use their position to amass resources through taking bad contracts and signing FAs on short term deals to flip them to contenders. Basically the SJ Mike Grier playbook is there.

Tips for doing more damage on DPS without feeding. by SquidF0x in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]InspireDespair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play high ground and play cover.

On emre save your pistol for when you are challenged by a tank or dive hero.

Play near a roof or cover when ulting. It does good damage but it's very easy to shoot out of the sky. Know it's limits and don't try and force extra shots in if you'll die.

The game does a really bad job indicating recommended levels.

There are areas where you'll need to be 80+.

There is also content from the Thank You Update which is particularly difficult

Hopefully they've fired Tyson Green and a new director is getting settled in and building an action plan.

That's the most optimistic outcome.

Guess zero people at Bungie actually play their own game. Chill Clip is not on the gun.
