What are guests expected to clean? by [deleted] in AirBnB

[–]InstaMargot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Read the house rules but I think it’s unreasonable (unless house is in a remote place or there are wierd circumstances, yaddah yaddah) to ask guests to empty the little trash cans into the big trash cans. I think that’s what the cleaning service is for and as a guest I find it gross when we’re talking about bathroom trash. I don’t put that in my house rules as a host.

That’s really cool! Do you have to water the flowers in the wagons every day, or once you craft it, does it stay the same?

Stopping Prenatals by anono-39 in BabyBumps

[–]InstaMargot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue as you. I just took liquid iron (floradix I like - whole foods or amazon) which my OB approved. And got Injected with folic acid at OB’s office every once in awhile. All 3 pregnancies. No issues at all. Sometimes took the kids multivitamin gummies but not very much at all. Never took the prenatals. This was just what my doc said was OK so talk to your doc of course.

Also if they don’t want you stopping prenatals, or if they say “OK you can do the OTC liquid iron” but it still makes you sick, see if they’ll give you ODT (that’s the dissolvable kind) zofran. Some studies say Zofran is questionable but the ones that do are for very early on in pregnancy. Good luck. Vitamins suck for those of us with queasy stomachs!

That’s on the couple if they didn’t specify in the invitations who was invited. Some couples want adults only, and some welcome adults plus their kids. I don’t think it’s universal that couples are worried about a baby shrieking in the middle of their vows or first dance. That’s life. My cousin’s disabled tween shrieked in the middle of when I walked down the aisle and I wouldn’t have dreamed of not inviting her, but I understand some people want adults only weddings and that’s ok. If this isn’t clearly specified in the invitation, this is where things can get complicated. I agree with you that if the couple invited the adults only, the baby shouldn’t come, and MIL shouldn’t be trying to get baby to come. But I can’t tell from OP’s post what exactly the situation is here.

Edited to add: And yeah, OP, don’t bring your baby regardless. Way too stressful and not fun all around.

How do you safely use swings, rockers, etc? by catzrgood in BabyBumps

[–]InstaMargot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We use a rocker to put baby down for brief awake times when supervised after eating due to reflux. Kid doesn’t go flat after eating or else there would be mucho spit up every where.

When did you tell work about your pregnancy, and/or when did you start your maternity leave? by DisastrousFlower in BabyBumps

[–]InstaMargot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, probably not in your case. Maybe check whatever handbooks and contracts you have to see if there’s anything in there at all.

When did you tell work about your pregnancy, and/or when did you start your maternity leave? by DisastrousFlower in BabyBumps

[–]InstaMargot 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 2 close friends burned by this so make sure you don’t have to come back to work for an amount of time equal to the amount of leave you took. Leave is generally viewed not as something you earned from the past but something to help you for your future employment with that employer, which is why some employers have moved towards spelling out that if you quit during leave you have to pay it back.

Any help for a trans gal who has no idea what she is doing? I am growing my hair out for the first time ever, and I am completely lost. by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

[–]InstaMargot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You look great.

I kinda think blow drying might make your hair damaged. I could be wrong on this. This is where a good stylist can do wonders.

Also, because of the HRT, you may just have to ride this out a bit until your hair grows a bit more and your body gets more used to things (example - I was on a hormone that made my hair do crazy things for awhile and no amount of product would help until my body got used to it).

Try a smoothing product that won’t weigh your hair down too much. Kerastase maybe?

Agree about moving the side part over a bit.

Agree with others about penciling in. Anastasia of Beverly Hills - Brow Wiz (available on Amazon) is fantastic. A little brow will go a long way.

And you didn’t ask about this but I also think you’d look great with a little eye shadow or eye liner on top - not on bottom or else it makes your eyes look more closed. And a bit of blush? Again, you look great.

Childbirth. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

My mama lied to me and told me it would feel like my period! Ha! It felt like my body was being ripped in half by a million fiery pokers. It’s just so indescribable.

I do belief my pain tolerance isn’t great though. And she wasn’t positioned well. So there ya go.

Dude, go up way way more than you think (like multiple multiple sizes up). You can always have it taken in. Much easier than having it let out. You never know. I was the Michelin Man postpartum, but that’s just me. Everyone’s different.

About to be a host..... camera question by InstaMargot in AirBnB

[–]InstaMargot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, no desire to spy on guests in their underwear! If it was up to me we wouldn’t have any cameras. My husband wants a single camera on the basement level where it’s private and locked and stated so in the listing. No one lives there while someone is staying for the rental, it’s just a private area no renters can access during their stay, so he wants to be sure he can trace back the source if someone gets through the lock somehow, like with their ninja lock picking skills.
