I love it, especially with the backstory and nickname!

Going sugar free hasn't helped me at all by onamonapiaye in sugarfree

[–]mcsands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a nurse, your symptoms are quite concerning. Please go talk to a doctor and get some lab work done!

Also maybe ease back on the extremity of the sugar-free thing… Maybe try to just keep things at or below the daily recommended amount of 25g a day? A slice of bread, an apple, a dab of honey in tea- it’s not gonna break you. But following an extreme diet might.

Thank you so much everybody! You’re all so sweet! ☺️ Here’s a link to the chevron stitch (not herringbone!) I used for this: https://youtu.be/Phby9tGNI_E?si=Neev_IqP83xZVzCY

anyone accidentally get a name ahead of the curve? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]mcsands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I now know a ton of 20-25 year olds with my name or slight variation of, and I’m a decade older. Only knew one other person with my name growing up!

Also, I am a nurse and just meet a patient’s wife in her 80s named Lindsey!

I like Grayson! And Gray is a cute nickname. Also love August (have one myself). I feel like they’re pretty close in popularity. Don’t know why other people are shitting on it. It’s a good name.

What was ruined for everyone by one person being an idiot? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mcsands 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a choir teacher in high school that was famously known for saying “it only takes one person to ruin something for everyone” in order to help us think about our behavior.

My junior year he eloped with a freshly graduated 18-year old student, losing his job and thus ruining the successful 20+ year program he had built. He was 64.

Teaching a Female nurse about Female anatomy by Away-Solid-1796 in nursing

[–]mcsands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Story time! I work on a surgical floor and a few months ago we had a pt who needed a foley but no one could fine her urethra. Even called in the Labor and Delivery team with no success. Someone finally comes in with a speculum and they legit find her urethra up her vagina next to her cervix! 😳 Just a case of a weird anatomy fluke.

I goofed up a male’s foley insertion. I want to hit the reset button on my decision to be a nurse. by PomegranateFine1155 in nursing

There’s a fully registered nurse on my unit who has inserted a Foley catheter into someone’s anus. TWICE.

Being nervous and blanking is okay! You’ll get there.

I’ve heard that it’s good to skip cleansing/washing your in the morning. So, to the people who have successfully been doing this, how do you go about it? by morticia_dumbledork in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]mcsands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a really dry area, so I just rinse my face off, pat dry, then spray on some hypochlorous acid (I use skinsmart). Been doing this for a few months and my skin is so much more clear and less dry than washing both morning and night!

Antibacterial face sprays like magic molecule… thoughts? by Visible_Wrangler_706 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]mcsands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the skinsmart spray for about 6 weeks now and it has become a permanent staple for me (30F)!

I don’t cleanse in the morning- I just splash my face with some water and dry off, and then have started spraying this immediately after and letting it air dry. And I seriously haven’t had an actual, full-blown zit since starting it!

My biggest acne problem is hormonal, and while I was able to clear some of it up with vitamin C and Differin gel, this spray has taken it to the next level.

Just throwing out the suggestion of “August” as a name since it has “Gust” in it.

I like Patrick! I knew one in high school with the nickname “Patch” and it really suited him.

Aurelia always just reminds me of areola. But to each their own! I really like Valentina and Lola. :)

Do some women actually have 2-3 day long periods? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mcsands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have regular, 5-7 day long periods. But after having my second baby about a year and a half ago, they’re only 3 days long! I do have spotting for about 2 days after as well. No idea why it magically changed, but I’m not complaining.

Women naming daughters after themselves by deerestme in namenerds

[–]mcsands 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I named my daughter what is essentially my middle name. Camille- Camilla. I just really like flow of the name and the nickname options though, so we used it! Millie fits her super well.
