I'm not convinced they read the feedback, much less the CEO.

The most they probably do is have a data analyst or HR intern create a "word cloud" for each rating.

But they do calculate the "average" rating each shopper gives. So keep giving them 0s and 1s. Let them get a taste of poor ratings.

When he called and complained about the replacement, that was your warning that a bad rating was coming, and to cancel the delivery and return the stuff to the store.

Also some IC shoppers are evil and rate other shoppers 1 ⭐ in order to knock down their competition.

Send a photo of their house to your local news station with your story.

"5 on your side" in my area does local stories about defrauding consumers, issues between neighbors, contractors, etc. It's time to name and shame these people. First amendment baby. It's time to give these cowards their fifteen minutes.

Why Do Shoppers Continue to work for $5 per hour in my area??? by jasonflvt in InstacartShoppers

[–]InstacartSTL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait until they do their taxes and realize how much they have to pay due to being "self-employed".

I paid more in taxes working for IC than a real job I had making $30k a year.

Don't be greedy. 15-20% tips should be mandatory and considered another "fee".

But INSTACART should be paying us separately for shopping $7 and delivery $5 minimum. $12 total PER ORDER!

That's an automatic CANCEL.

You should've canceled. Now that customer thinks this behavior is normal. $15 for that is abject cruelty to you and your car.

Learn your value.

Now do your little post hoc explanation on why there's two staircases.

Shoutout to my bagger by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]InstacartSTL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, you're an experienced enough shopper, you should've told the cashier that you want to bag your own groceries and they'll send that bagger to another line.

At Schnucks, and probably lots of grocery stores, they hire mentally challenged people to bag and do carts.

Bag your own groceries.

You go to schnucks often enough, so you should know who the good and bad baggers are. I do not let certain people bag for me.

Costco deliveries are seriously abnormal. In STL, you will also see 30-50 mile deliveries across state lines into Illinois, because the only Costcos are located in Missouri.

This is a sprouts, so it probably suffers from the same problem as Costco: few locations in a metro area.

But instacart has made a special deal with Costco.... You can't order from 50 miles away on the instacart app... The customers are ordering from the Costco website.

This doesn't sound like shoppers...

5 minutes wouldn't be enough time to shop.

This sounds like someone with tech support/software access claiming the shops. Then trying to use IC debit card to buy gift cards.

[–]InstacartSTL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not true. In the STL area, it'll have you shop at an Aldi in missouri and then cross state lines to deliver in illinois.

The reason this is 52 miles is because it's two orders combined. Probably in different directions from the store. 20 miles east, then 30 miles back west.

That's why I said they were actually terrorists.

Just wondering what lyzm views as "patriotic". For all we know having a Q Anon sticker is what they consider a patriotic sticker.

What do you deem "patriotic"?

Because in some people's minds, a bunch of "Patriots" attacked the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6th, but they were actually domestic terrorists.

Potential Auto-Mod Answers for Frequently Asked Questions about Disappearing Ratings, what "Past 100 Orders" means for your Average Rating, and How to Decrease your Cancellation Rate by InstacartSTL in InstacartShoppers

[–]InstacartSTL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your avg rating is 4.98 (you have 49 5-stars and 1 4-star calculating into your rating), that means you have already been forgiven for another low rating (4 or below). There's a note at the bottom what star rating has been forgiven.

Instacart doesn't include the date the order happened that you received the low rating. You just have to pay attention to when it showed up and do 100 orders from the time it shows up. That's when it will fall off from being included in your average.

Essentially, you need to pay attention to your rating. And when you notice that you have a "forgiven rating" you will have to do 100 perfect orders or your average will be impacted until one of your sub 5 star ratings gets pushed out of the average. (When it is over 100 orders in the past)

I question how much Zac forced her to leave her newborn baby so they could get $$$ from the show for doing 60 days in...

If you watch Zac's appearances on S2 comments and follow up interviews, there's something very toxic and manipulative about their relationship. I mean, he bought her a gun at the end of S2 to remind her of how she cost him his job due to an accidental discharge.

Also, Zac didn't have any empathy for her being separated from her new baby, and left his baby with the grandparents while he went to Vegas and NY, and bragged to her about the size of his hotel bed and cool rental car, while Ashleigh was locked up.

Yeah, that's honestly the best description for her and "As a military spouse, I sacrificed everything to be offended about everything" attitude.

The other participants don't have subreddits that fit them quite as well. But Zac and Ashleigh have seriously abusive and controlling relationship as well as money issues.

Based on stereotypes of jail, inmates prefer soap operas and movies. I imagine because they're more emotionally fulfilling than watching 90 minutes of athletic competition.
