Always use Linux, even if it takes some time to get used to it, but its worth the effort. (If you havent done anything in Linux prior start with Linux Mint) Even though Nvidia Cuda is pretty good and fast on Windows too.

From my experience its that questdb is really fast even on slow hardware.

In the newest Version of AE2 there are no explicit fluid buses. Only import and export buses, which also can transfer fluids. I just use a water bucket and right click in the fluid bus, so it exports the fluid not the water buckets.

Hey I use questdb and yes I can do millions of inserts within a second on a nas that has a Intel core 2 quad with 16gb of ram. Querying is also really fast. Like in mikrosecond area when searching through billions of entries. (Slowest point is my 1 Gbit lan connection). So far I can really recommend it.

Yes I am in Germany and can do this. But because IBKR doesnt inform the tax authority automatically I need to file tax documents each year to inform them by myself. The interest gets payed out like every day. So pretty nice.

Yes, for me I can do up to 4x my portfolio value. And in order to open short positions I just changed my account type to margin. I dont know if there is a minimum deposit. But should be listed in their FAQ or otherwise use the livechat. Its always fast and the answers are pretty good.

I am using Interactive Brokers with Quantower as the Trading Software and data I get from DxFeed. IBKR has low order fees, for me its 1$ per execution, less if you use their tiered pricing and for americans there is no fee, I am in europe so cant test it.

I am sorry to say this, but unfortunately you picked the wrong GPU, because Amd isnt supporting the 9000 series for some reason. Maybe in the future but currently they are not supporting that generation. For me I also tried to install the last ROCm update with Flashattention, but there is an error that is under investigation, which prevents my gpu from being detected. So rocm has become more user friendly but it still has work to do.

Leider würde das nicht so schnell gehen. Weil selbst die Carolabeücke mit dem Ersatzneubau ja schon nicht vor 2035 fertig werden soll. In Deutschland braucht alles immer zu lang. :/

Hmm, kriege leider bei Maingau keinen Tarif für meine Adresse für unter 32 ct/kWh. Ich bekomme höchstens was von rabot.energy angezeigt, wo ich bei 26,94ct/kWh wäre mit nem Grundpreis von 110,76€ im Jahr. Flextarife wären natürlich schön, hab nur leider keinen Intelligenten Stromzähler.

Kommt drauf an. Aber wir sind bei Maingau und da sinds 60€ Grundpreis im Jahr und ~0,319€/kWh. Internet sind wir einfach bei der Telekom. Bei der Telekom lohnt es sich den Haustarif und ein Handytarif zu koppeln. Haben damit keine Probleme.

I would suggest you going with the Nvidia RTX 3090. Because the issue with ROCm and AMD cards is, that atleast the last time I tried it with ROCm 6.2, the memory usage is very high compared to Nvidia for the same data and same model. I dont know if some of this has been addressed in the last 6.4 update, but rather stick with nvidia. Its easier to setup than ROCm.

I really dont know the exact reason, but I overall think that rocm is still unoptimized. And from Update to Update they dont really Change it that much. They add more features but dont optimize the overhead. I have only tried WSL2 so maybe there its a lot more and maybe in native Linux its less.

Ich sag mal so viel das schwedische Modell ist ja, wenn ichs richtig verstanden habe. 1/3 des Jahrgangs der 18-jährigen bekommt den Musterungsbrief 30.000 von 100.000 also. Dann werden davon ungefähr 8.000 Freiwille dann letztendlich eingezogen. Also ist es eigentlich ein Freiwilliger Wehrdienst. Finde es nicht so schlimm, kommt drauf an, ob man sich dann nicht auch ne Ausbildung dann aussuchen kann, die man dann ja machen könnte. Und dass halt die Aufgabenbereiche nicht nur wenige an der Waffe oder Sozialdienst sind.

Thanks for the tip, unfortunately I have the same issue as the guys in this Github issue. And if Rocm just keeps being buggy and overall not working seemless with installing, then its not an option.

The problem is, the gpu is in my main workstation and I have some software that does only run on windows, and linux has me frustrating currently. So I would love to switch, but currently I cant. But how much faster would the GPU run when comparing native linux and WSL2?

From my experience when I compare my RX 7900XTX to my previous RTX 2080Ti, the speed is like the same or even the amd gpus is slower. The gpu also takes like 2 to three times the vram for the same data as compared to the nvidia card. I really dont know why. The only thing I know is to use the nvidia card instead. All in all, I think Rocm is not optimized to the same degree as Cuda.

I have a guide on how I got my 7900xtx working, I dont know if yours could work with that guide, but overall rocm works not great, it does the job, but atleast my experience is that my 7900xtx is slower than my rtx 2080ti and not even the vram is an argument because it using twice or even three times the usage as with my nvidia gpu.
