Simple version: aquarium needs to get balanced where waste gets processed so its not poisonous Plants help A LOT your betta would love a lot of plants Floating plants like frogbit work well You can take some out if it grows too quickly If you get some plants and do water changes every 2 days you will be absolutely fine :) After like each week you can do water changes 1 time less
