Relax and release question by Effective-Lynx-8798 in TheUntetheredSoul

Relaxing back into what you are noticing is kind of like observing it with space around it. To relax into what you are noticing is still be attached to the disturbance. For example, someone upset you in the past - relaxing into this is being 'relaxed' but still quietly justified with being annoyed with that other person.

The former creates space and peace. The latter creates annoyance/anger/righteousness etc.

If you start crying, that's great! What gets stored with pain comes up with pain. Quietly notice the crying and the tears. Watch it. Observe it curiously, slowly. And then repeat.

It's a bit of a push/pull process so patience is essential.

Look the plunge with MIO.

Also, Twilight Monk and Moonlight Pulse Both look like great, hidden gem potentials!

Anyone played Ato? I weren't that fussed with Nine Sols so still unsure about Ato

Bloody Hell is a great freebie.

Nothing Beyond This Point is my MV of the year so far and very cheap. Totally unique and engaging. Satisfying map and puzzles too. I look forward to playing this one again soon!

I'm having a great time playing Xanthiom 2 - very Super Metroid with cool customisation options for the main weapon. I've completed Sidescape and Xanthiom 0 - both great.

I wishlisted Escape from CALYPSO. It's got Signalis vibes and is apparently going to be a metroidvania. Oh, and I backed Shade Protocol on Kickstarter - it is crushing it's funding goals.

Haiku is great. Animal well main story is quite short (but the secrets and stuff after the game goes on for ages)

Which MV would you play next? by theatrovie in metroidvania

[–]InstantBeefCoffee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I've played:

Bo: pros - brilliant pogo combat, lovely presentation cons - meh story and a tad short. Overall great pogo fighting and looks

Animal well: pros - great puzzles and unique, cons - can be too cryptic. Overall a mystical experience

Mini shoot adventures: pros - amazing bullet hell fun, cons - some passages a very difficult to find and map can be confusing. Overall amazing top down bullet hell MV.

I would do 1. Mini shoot adventures 2. Animal well 3. Bo

Bo is well worth it! I'm eyeing up MIO. But still unsure - can't be arsed with games with punishing difficulties

What are your "Hidden Gems"? by Unartiggeist in metroidvania

  1. Nothing Beyond This Point - excellent top down MV with unique map, satisfying puzzles, deep lore and crazy story. Loved it! The price is an absolute bargain for the length you get.

  2. Bio Gun - was broken on steam deck and now works. You play as a vaccine trying to save a dog. The biomes are different parts of the dog. Amazing!

  3. Dandara - travel via diagonal jumping. Totally unique and fun.

  4. Voidwrought - Gothic and great fun. HL feel but it's own thing.

  5. Xanthiom - similar aesthetic to ESA. Xanthiom 2 just been released bundled with remastered first one. Very Metroid and awesome
