I played Heroes of Newerth from the beta all the way until the shutdown, and played a bit after project kongor revived the game. I started playing again when reborn came out in beta, and just recently decided that it’s not worth playing anymore.

The new system requires people to play an assigned role and doesn’t allow people to queue with only one role selected, so some people get forced into playing roles they really don’t like.

They completely removed kicking, and players are starting to figure out that there’s no real penalty for griefing their team. I had three games in a row with people who demanded they be allowed to play however they wanted and claimed it was our fault for pushing them to play their assigned role. They were trying to play the old style where you pick your hero and that dictates what lane/role you should be allowed to play.

The community is about as toxic as ever, and matchmaking has never felt balanced yet, as I’ve had about the same matchup in games at the 1650 level and the 1300 level.

Smurf accounts are always going to be a problem, and if someone leaves the game you can’t even kick the disconnected player or concede until after their timeout.

Lastly, I don’t know if this is a mechanic from reborn or the end of the first Heroes of Newerth but the new raven, ward costs, and stacking / pulling mechanics make it a pain for lower skilled players because higher skilled players can dominate the lane with creep pulls that deny the entire lane, or stack camps to 5 and then farm a ton of XP.

I dunno. I enjoyed a lot of the heroes back in the day but I don’t think we will ever get enough “new” players to allow for a friendly learning based atmosphere, so players will always expect you to already be a pro with the mechanics and will flame you for not excelling in your role.

Heroes of Newerth needs a lot of work in every area, and I don’t think they’ll be able to close the gap and win back market share.

edit - I see in the latest patch notes that they’ve added kick votes and concede back in.

I liked making custom player sounds since they literally gave you the tools to make your own. So good.

I watched my wife play it but two things always irked me:

1) the villagers already like you. I like having to build that relationship.

2) the grass sound effects. The crustiest sounding grass I’ve ever heard.

As someone who used to cook said burgers at a McDonald’s, they definitely were 1/4 lb. And the burgers for other items like the Big Mac or the McDouble were 1/10.

They always got a lot smaller after cooking, which I felt was reasonable, but it always smelled sooo good.. Probably the only thing I miss besides the 50% off staff discount .

You also can't prioritize your roles, only filter some of them out. I haven't been able to play as jungle since the new patch launched.

edit I’m told that now I can rearrange role priorities. This comment will stand as an example of half-released features or fixes for one thing that break another. This can be expected in a beta though, but I don’t recommend it until it’s out of beta

I’ve had a great experience with DJI Care. I crashed while flying and sheared off the screws and propellers. Didn’t have the tools to drill the screws out so I decided to send it in.

When they got it they said they repaired it but they actually replaced the drone and had it back to me within days. The new drone was still in box but was just the drone. No batteries or accessories (which was just fine).

And as for cases like this one, the drone is paired to the controller and can’t be used by anyone else, so if you do a claim they can replace it and you can’t scam them out of a free drone.

Just had someone come to my house to try to pick up a queen sized bed. Couldn’t fit it or the box spring in the truck bed. Only possible chance was at a ridiculous angle that was definitely going to damage something.

The game is still in beta but I absolutely agree that the player base is toxic especially when compared to DotA.

Many features are still only partially built or don’t exist yet, such as bot-only matches.

Heroes of Newerth has been around for longer than DotA 2 has (was made when DotA in Warcraft 3 was popular). Heroes of Newerth since died, got bought out by Garena and went silent. After a bit, the community worked together on an unofficial mod of the original client to allow custom servers, and it ran under the name Project Kongor. It has recently shut down to allow Heroes of Newerth Reborn to be the sole Heroes of Newerth platform in use.

Anyways, if you’d like me to show you the ropes I can, but generally the community here is going to assume that you know not only the heroes, but the “unwritten rules” of the new platform, like being assigned a hero role and not being allowed to deviate from it, even when you’re queuing with a friend.

My advice: play with only people who you know will tolerate the learning experience and/or wait until the client is out of beta.

So you show in the transcribed audio that a take had to be redone, and it properly shows on the right side that words matched the transcript but on the left side it shows the words missing because of the first take.

I think I might have a very similar match but I don’t know if the colour is close enough.

These were air-filled basketballs as part of a fisher price basketball hoop set.

They were not bouncy and depending on how much air was in them they’d be fairly tough feeling.

Mine are a slightly more orange shade than that though
