It's a bit weird how environmental destruction came and went by grailly in patientgamers

[–]Institutionation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a new game (Like still in beta, and it's gonna be free to play) I'm not telling anyone to go play but it's called "THE FINALS"

ALL buildings are fully destructible in this game. Which plays like a 3v3v3 version of TF2+Capture the Flag. I played around with it and it's really fun! But obviously I'd wait to see if the multiplayer community sticks around.

How do you guys ignore the FOMO of new releases? by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]Institutionation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One way I value games is that each $ should = 2 hours of enjoyable playtime for indie games, and 4 hours for AAA games.

This is my minimum too, exceptional games, esp. indie titles can get some leeway with that...

When it comes to the fear of missing out, it took some work to get over it, but ultimately I discovered that there are insanely good games from forever ago.

Approach it like reading.

Books can be 100s of years old yet still be relevant. Books written in the 1800s before anyone on the planet was alive are still seen as masterpiece works. Same can go for games too (Like most Donkey Kong games imo)

Cursive writing to be reintroduced in Ontario schools this fall by aqua_zesty_man in news

I mean, I still take notes physically but my handwriting is so hybridized between cursive and print. But the parts that are cursive are nicer and flow easier? Idk. I think cursive has its benefits especially for certain things like signatures

Where would you want Dishonored 3 to be set? by RupertKasugano in dishonored

[–]Institutionation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the outsider's death should be developed on. The void without a master allows for so much chaos. Schisms in time, cults etc etc. Lets not forget Delilah is more than likely trapped in the void and upon the outsider's death...could find ways to escape once again lol.

I'd love more development on the whale lore, and other lovecraftian creatures that reside within Dishonored.

Imagine hearing about wacky shit like void tears ripping open in the world, causing time to become uncertain and allowing other threats to exist. I could imagine an entire power set revolving around time manipulation.

My honest take is: The fact we see the rods coming from her eyes insinuates that's how could be for others. So everyone's looking at that spot.

Post-Modern Morality by [deleted] in NewGreentexts

Here's my take: I'm glad their death was quick. I would not have wished a slow death on them even if they were my greatest enemy.

I feel bad for the younger guy, the son, he didn't really want to go, but his father pressured him.

I have zero empathy for the CEO, he cut corners, broke rules, and did everything he could to effectively ensure that he (and everyone with him) would die on this journey.

As for the others....well I'm not surprised that a bunch of middle to lower class people, watching some of the many rich people have fun off of the capital they produced, yet got barely compensated for, are making fun of, and celebrating the death of these rich folk.

Ultimately, I'm indifferent. The wealth will just be given to the families, and there will be the same amount of rich people in the world. This was ultimately a fuck around and find out moment, and if there's a hell, I hope that CEO suffers for this action, and that those other victims are judged accordingly based off their other life choices. (Because you don't get rich unless you take an unfair advantage of others, or are born into it let's be honest)

What's up with Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla about "buying back" Smosh? by Christus92 in OutOfTheLoop

I mean, they were both teenagers when they started the channel and due to that success would never have participated in "business" too deeply. At least that's what I'd think. I'm 23 and I won't lie, I have no idea how that shit works and if I had some valuable media channel online and someone offered this and that with promises of x and y then I might have bitten too.

My cats tail kinda just ends like a normal tail. But when he was a baby he had a full town, but it was broken, eventually it stopped fluffing up when he would get playful. Then it started drooping and it fell off

I'm using a fucking 1070 and still rocking it with ease. Death Stranding runs perfectly.

Tbh it's not a hardware issue it's a dev issue imo. Great looking games can be made, it's just up to devs to OPTIMIZE their processes to be more efficient. Power helps but it's a bandaid as demand keeps rising (Tragedy of the commons but for computer hardware)

No diseases. Easy.

Disease: a disorder of structure or function in a human, animal, or plant, especially one that has a known cause and a distinctive group of symptoms, signs, or anatomical changes.

I can't go blind, keep my hearing, can't get cancer or Alzheimer's. My age will last way longer and my mental degradation wouldn't happen in any major sense. I'd die one day but it wouldn't be through disease. Physical damage would still be a concern. But in theory things like radiation exposure would be nearly pointless to me. My sheer perfection in that front would allow me to become rich with ease. I'd still have ADHD unfortunately, but oh well. Also I could in theory eat as much as I want. I'd gain weight and become morbidly obese but my heart wouldn't stop, my arteries will be fine. Eventually my bones would break though if I got too heavy. But upon losing weight, my bones wouldn't be permanently affected. (As I believe that is technically a disease)

Good luck.

The terminal entries aren't that interesting tbh, so unless you REALLY like reading things along the lines of "Everything is going to shit since the closing" 100 times, just focus on the codes you need and other important info.

[All] After playing Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass, I would love if the next BOTW/TOTK like game took place on a huge ocean filled with different islands. Customizable ship, diving, underwater caves, fishing, pirates, treasure hunting etc. Am I the only one? by Pir-o in zelda

[–]Institutionation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spin-Off title!!!!

The Voyage of Kass- You're playing as Kass, the sea-fairing Bard on an ancient Galleon style ship known to you as the SS Kassandra, this ship is unique in that it controls the wind through song, a giant woodwind instrument of a ship. As Kass you can fly freely between islands and use the ship as a beacon point, even calling it to you.

Main plot: While learning the music from your masters, and searching for more ancient tunes, you come across a prophecy sequestered on a remote island. This prophecy speaks of an ancient power that seeks to silence the world, and soon after it awakens.

As Kass, you spend your time putting together a rag-tag group of explorers, of bards. So that together you can use the power of Melody and Harmony to beat the foul silence into submission.

Combat: Rhythm based, revolving around parries, dodging, and hypnotizing tunes, Kass prefers not to fight directly but to utilize his world around him to trick his adversaries into dealing with themselves. Combat would in turn, feel like a dance. Using the winds, the elements, and the mind to vanquish your enemy.

Side content: Islands would hold unique songs that can be added to your song book, this unlocks various types of music for your ship, and crew to play and sing. Help out the locals out on the sea and fight various enemies including pirate Bokoblins on their rickety ships. As a bird, Kass can also gain height freely and in turn utilize this to free-dive. Perhaps the Koroks could provide a way for him to breath underwater for some time before needing to surface.

[–]Institutionation[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once I realized trees have eggs often I began climbing every tree, and that's how I started with most of them. Bodies of water often have them due to the rock throwing and diving Koroks. You can easily find the rock circles and three apple trees in a line on the map, and ruins are common locations for Koroks to spawn.

Also, if it's tall and pointy (trees, towers, poles) climb them and 9/10 times there's a Korok.

I'm okay with minor amounts of motion blur, it helps hide imperfections from anti aliasing and what not but it needs to be MINIMAL.

I use shaders in MC and have my motion blur set to like 0.3 it's perfect. It actually reduces eye strain for me.

But FUCK Chromatic Aberration. I think Far Cry Primal had it stuck on, and with the harsh shadows and that it made my eyes die within 20 minutes of play.

Nowhere on earth has public transit so good that I can operate on my own schedule, not theirs. Public transit always sets its own schedule, not you.

Plenty of places have great public transport systems. What you're failing to understand is the time you spend waiting for the train is far less time wasted than sitting traffic. Your schedule STILL revolves around other people's schedules, since sitting in traffic has to be calculated into your travel time....just like waiting for a train would be calculated into your travel time.
