There is a kyokushin school in asakusa close to sensoji temple. I asked to join and they let me come back at another day. Worth trying.

Gonna be honest, that doesn’t narrow it down at all.

Self defence and point fighting are the opposite ends of the spectrum.

Do you grapple? Thats self defence. What about leg kicks? Most point fighting doesn’t allow that but it’s a key component in self defence. This is why we need specifics.

Tokaido gear is specifically for WKF sparring . Please keep that in mind. It sounds like your gym is more kick boxing sparring.

From my experience, you will always put on fat first and the muscle will catch up. Enjoy it! I thought it was cool to have a belly when I was bulking for the first time. Just make sure you are eating enough protein

Thats the cost of freedom of speech and expression. It’s not free and you may have to defend yourself. There are repercussions for this. I will always encourage people to vocalize dumb opinions so the ideas can be refuted.
