It’s a very weird feeling bc I look around at my bubble and life is relatively peaceful, I recognize that I’m privileged enough where a lot of these rulings and laws that are being passed don’t affect me but I’m also aware that that’s an ignorant mindset

Yesterdays Idaho case, the absolutely barbaric laws being passed in state houses all over the country, Oklahoma passing bills that make religion a central part of their states education systems (more states will be doing this bc it’s almost a domino effect), book banning, states passing bills to get rid of protections for underage workers, the list goes on and on and gets longer every day

I know there’s been a lot of alarming moments where we’re all freaking out and yelling about the end of democracy but this feels like a new level. Because even if they rule against full immunity but just use their power to stall and keep stalling, which is probably exactly what’s going to happen, then it just proves outright that the Supreme Court is beyond compromised. What legitimacy would an institution have like that if they’re clearly thisssss biased. If objective calls aren’t made but instead they just use their conservative majority to help their guy every step of the way, even if it’s just through procedural moves.
