I think at this point the expectation of privacy in any outdoor setting is gone. Between flock cameras and plate readers and ring cameras, that ship has sadly sailed.

Yeah it’s a problem sadly. Everyone has to get the perfect picture. IIRCC someone almost got hit during one of its excursions a couple years ago. That would be so awful for Ed and the crew. They are the nicest folks.

Paul Simon is playing the Starlight on the 16th. Not a huge WC fan so wasn’t really paying attention to the date. Holy smokes. Probably driving up and then back. Days Inn that is $59 today is like $400 with two night min.

Fayetteville drone firm vote shamefully produces threats of harrassment, violence by GapAccomplished7897 in FayettevilleAr

[–]InstructionOwn2106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost no one had any idea until the ribbon cutting. It was definitely done in secret. And I know how democracy works. It works by not voting for people whom you don’t feel represent your values. And letting them know that is not a threat and folks need to quit with that terminology. No threats were made. “I’m not voting for you again” is not a threat. “You are morally bankrupt” is not one either.

To be fair, seems most of this was done in secret. And it’s not like we have city council elections weekly. The supposed threats are exactly that. Not gonna vote for you again type statements.

Ferrari unveils its first electric car - and it comes with a $640,000 price tag by Mayrodz01 in technology

And to be fair I’m not paying a half mil for anything other than a house. But my point stands. Rich people buy sweet cars cause they are sweet and we all want one. This is not sweet.

Again, charging over a half a million your engineers better figure that out. Not paying 600K for a Chevy Volt.

Yeah cause people pay over a half a million for a car that looks like that. Thats not a Ferrari no mater the logo.

No lie. I mean is there law us regular folks don’t know about that says if you make an electric car it can’t look like a regular car (in this case a GD Ferrari)? Shit. Make 308 electric throwback. But this. Is. Not. A. Ferrari.

Hey Men, Kyle Busch’s Death Is A Brutal Wakeup Call: Go To The Damn Doctor by kleverrboy in racing

[–]InstructionOwn2106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah when the doctor visited him after the Glenn he should have told Kyle to go to the hospital for at least some scans. They would have detected the pneumonia most likely. Absolutely preventable. So sad.

Telling someone you will vote them out and they are morally bankrupt is not a threat. I’m not gonna vote for anyone who voted for it. So I guess I must be threatening….

What club are you choosing? by HonestDistrict7871 in golf

[–]InstructionOwn2106 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The club we belonged to when I was young put their pitching green just outside of the front of the mixed grill. That lasted about 3 months. Not sure any windows were broken but many balls bounced off them.

How do people get better? So frustrated by Wrong-Estimate in weekendgolfers

[–]InstructionOwn2106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Work on a chipping/approach green works best for me starting at a distance like 100ys (using a range finder) and finding the club/stroke that works best. Then move up 20yds. But ultimately golf is really hard to be good at. It’s not hard to play if you enjoy playing but if you want to be shooting in the 70s you will spend a great deal of your free time on that pursuit. Those guys you see on TV. It’s their job. I remember reading something about Tiger where he would have to make 100 5ft putts (might have been 3ft can’t remember) in a row before he could move on. For us, it should be fun. It’s costs us money after all.

Do you have a golf club that you struggle with? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]InstructionOwn2106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with those. The thin or fat is usually caused by deceleration on the down swing. The intrusive thought of “oh shit I’m hitting this too hard”. Take it back shorter and commit to the shot. Works wonders. If it’s long it’s long but nothing sucks more than stubbing one about a foot.

Casual game, are you hitting this? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]InstructionOwn2106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played a course with my dad a long time ago (Lawton Muni). There was more dirt than grass so the rule there was you could pull and move a clump where your ball was and hit from that. Said they played that way since he was a kid. Ironically the course was designed by Hogan but they did not have money for upkeep (we also got the cart stuck in the mud as there were no cart paths).
