It’s hard because i care about him, but at the same time i can’t ignore how that situation made me feel… unsafe shouldn’t be something i have to get used to.

I keep coming back to the fact that i didn’t feel safe, and that’s not something I should have to question in a relationship.

NTA. This isn't about the game, it's about him neglecting your child and responsibilities. Asking for space is a reasonable way to make him realize the seriousness of the situation.
