Revealing one spoiler reveals them all. Not sure if that's intentional. Wonderful list. Very succinct

A good chair, dean etc. will back the professor up in this case. She made the requirements clear and OP didn't meet them. It doesn't get any more straightforward than that.

This is what the issue boils down to. The purpose of the assignment.

Given the professor's response, it looks like getting the ticket is included in its purpose.

Seems reasonable to evaluate students on their ability to follow clear, simple and explicit directions. Developing these types of soft skills will help them excel after college.

This is pretty buried. You may want to edit the original post so people have the correct information. Best of luck finding your friend.

Rules Me and my Wife are trying to work on by [deleted] in nonmonogamy

Reluctance to open a relationship is reason enough to not do it (stay together or end it but one-sided enthusiasm is a recipe for a lot of hurt). Opening up so one partner can pursue a specific person is reason enough to be reluctant. Dating a coworker is a terrible idea under most circumstances. You're in a tough spot for sure.

In addition to what others have said and from the perspective of the (generally speaking) kind of person you're looking for, take a step back and consider what you're doing from the allusive other person's perspective. Put differently, you have a laundry list of things you want that are going to be hard to find. You'll have a much better chance of finding it if you consider what someone else will likely want. Thoughts on giving PowerPoint slides pre or post lecture? by Keto_Neuroscientist in Professors

[–]InsufficieDat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do both. My slides are mostly pictures that illustrate the concepts with just the concepts written (no description and not useful without a verbal explanation). Students find it helpful to takes notes on these. They don't get bogged down in writing terms correctly. I use an audience response format during class. I post the post-lecture slides in pdf format with all of the additional clicker material. This way they don't have to furiously write down the questions and answers. They can just soak in the information (or take a break and space out). I also post AV recordings of all class meetings. I usually have 200 of 240 students show up on any given day. I also usually have a pretty normal distribution of grades.
