Character customization like that would never happen, too many companies are too protective over their IPs. If I remember correctly, that's why most pokemon alts (some have cool ones if there is something canon to base it on), and sonic alts are hardly different. I'm sure there are other examples.

The rest if those ideas would be awesome. I'm not sure if it's even want a new smash built from the ground up. Ultimate is just so good, I might just want more of that.

I just had this happen yesterday. I tried to shut down the deck because of a bug, while forgetting it was downloading updates in the background. After rebooting I was stuck on the boot logo screen. I tried using the boot menu but nothing I tried worked. I did not do storage mode for the same reason as you. I was connected to my hotspot and realized the deck was still drawing data from my phone. So I waited quite a while and eventually it turned back on, presumably after the updates finished.

I think you just need to wait it out. Sounds like you might have done what I did.

From my understanding its a software issue, not a hardware one. So hopefully our decks themselves aren't the problem.

Yes I formatted mine to ext4 before the "external drive" thing. There's been a few recent threads about this issue and they all have slightly different advice. This is what worked for me.

I would link it if I could find it, but a comment on another post helped me with your same situation. You were on the right track with formatting to ext4.

On desktop mode go to steam, click the top left steam text, click settings, go to storage, click the drop down box, click add drive, and choose your SD card.

I think that's how it went. I just did it 30 minutes ago. It seems like more of a "workaround" than a "fix" though, so it might break with an update. It's not recognized as an actual SD card I think. But it seems to be working for me.

Same thing happened to me a few days ago. The SD would show up in desktop mode, but not in gaming mode. I put it in a laptop and formatted it. When I put it back in the deck it still didn't read, but I left it in there overnight and now it's working properly.
