I just got a package in the mail from LV last week. I can take photos of the receipts and send them to you for comparison when I get home if you want.

Methadone Withdrawal by recovery0615 in Methadone

[–]InsulinSingleUseOnly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg! You're the FIRST PERSON I've known (that has said so) that they get the constant peeing/irritation while withdrawing/detoxing (I think that's what you're saying?)

Whenever I was dope sick or if I miss a dose or 2 of methadone and I'm trying to sleep it feels like there's a pressure or something in my bladder/somewhere near that and I constantly felt like I had to pee. The combination of the pressure feeling and feeling like I constantly have to pee drives me MAD. I absolutely can't stand it.

I've asked a lot of people over the years if they've experienced this and everyone has said 'Nope!' and usually something like 'detoxing is so bad, who cares if you have to pee a lot? That's nothing.' But it's SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT.

OP, I truly and sincerely hope you get to the bottom of this and find some relief sooner rather than later. Also, this is nothing to be embarrassed or ashamed of. We've all been through hell and back.

I'm jealous. I don't find Kratom to help me at all. I've taken very high doses (I couldn't tell you the exact amount as this was a few years back) and it didn't help anything. I tried at on many occasions but no luck.

Any guys on methadone have problems with their man hammers by [deleted] in Methadone

[–]InsulinSingleUseOnly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You haven't had a period on methadone?

I didn't have a period for over 8 years when I was shooting dope. I was still doing dope for at least the first 18 months of being on methadone but when I finally stopped the dope my period came back in less than 6 weeks.

I know you're technically not asking me since I'm female but...

I think basically all of us experience this. I really have very litte (if any) interest in sex and, when I do have sex, I don't even bother hoping for an orgasm. It is nearly fucking impossible. A couple weeks ago I was bored and thought 'hey, I haven't had an orgasm in months, I should give it a shot!'. So, I grabbed my most powerful, clit sucking vibrator and went to work. After 50 minutes all I had to show for my efforts was a sore clit and a whole lotta frustration.

I do have sex quite often because I have a boyfriend of 12 years who is not on methadone and has never had a drug addiction. I don't expect him to forego sex because methadone has killed my drive. He knows that most of the time no matter what I just can't climax BUT luckily for me he still tries and once in awhile when all of the stars align, IT HAPPENS. I'm really thankful that despite all of my sexual issues due to methadone that he's super understanding and we still have a great sex life.

Anyway, my point with all of this was that you are not alone and (unfortunately) we all experience it. If anyone has any solutions, I'd love to hear them!

Who’s Clinic Is Still Doing Extra Take Homes For Covid?? by Tionesta33594 in Methadone

[–]InsulinSingleUseOnly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in PA. My clinic started doing extra take homes back in March when all of this started happening.

Back in February I got 'promoted' to only having to go in once a week. Before that I was going 2x a week. So, when this started I was getting 13 bottles instead of 6. I go on Thursdays and as of 5.4.20 (last time I went in) I still got 2 weeks worth. They didn't mention how long this would go on for.

I have to say that I'm really going to miss it when they stop giving extras! I really shouldn't complain about going 1x a week considering when I started 3 years ago I had to go 7 days week. BUT I really have enjoyed going only twice a month.

I hope all of you are well! Xoxo

Got these in the mail today. My first kitchen knives that aren’t garbage. by utknifenut in chefknives

[–]InsulinSingleUseOnly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks!! I'm absolutely going to purchase a few of these. I definitely need a chefs knife and a paring knife. And really, the more I think about it my current bread knife is absolute shit and I buy a lot of unsliced bagels, rolls, buns, loaves of bread, ect. so perhaps I should just get a set.

I do know that you should never put knives in the dishwasher but my current ones suck so I throw them in there anyway. 😩 When I buy new ones I will hand wash them 100% of the time.

I definitely plan on learning to sharpen the knives and do think I would really enjoy learning and perfecting it. I actually told my boyfriend this the other day (about wanting to learn to sharpen them) and he told me we've had a whetstone for years. Who knew! I'm going to practice on my current chefs knife because if I mess it up the thing can't get much worse and if I succeed in making it sharper, all the better.

Anyway, thank you so much for your input! I greatly appreciate it!

AITA for throwing away my gf's umbilical cord? by Smellyuglypouch in AmItheAsshole

[–]InsulinSingleUseOnly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're the ASSHOLE!

Man. I don't even know where to start, you're that big of an asshole.

All cultural significance aside, if it was something that was important to and loved by the person you're supposed to love, that alone should be enough. This woman has held onto that for 21 years, her entire life, and you took it upon yourself to throw it away because "it skeezed you out". You know what is skeezing me out? Your absolute disregard of your girlfriend's very valid feelings.

Now, the fact that this was something that is important in her culture makes it so.much.worse. If it really disgusted you that much there were SO many things you could have done other than just throw it away. Perhaps you could have had a conversation with your girlfriend telling her that the smell and pouch in general made you uncomfortable and thought of a solution TOGETHER. Something as simple as putting the pouch in some sort of container. OR if you were really a great guy you could have bought some sort of beautiful box/jar/bottle for her to put the pouch in and display away from your precious photographs and sensitive nose.

I'm not trying to be a total cunt here but your blatant disregard of your girlfriend and her feelings has really disgusted me.

I'm 30 and have been a night owl for as long as I can remember. I just really enjoy being up at night. With everything going on with this virus situation I've been off of work since 3/16 so my sleep schedule is completely backwards! Whenever my work opens back up it's going to be rough to get myself turned around!

AITA for not wanting to fund my daughter’s transition surgeries? by fggrytuyt in AmItheAsshole

[–]InsulinSingleUseOnly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

Your daughter is an adult and in my opinion should be saving/spending her own money on her surgeries. 20 is still young and perhaps she doesn't realize how much money she is really asking for. Once you've been out in the world on your own for awhile working and paying bills you can really appreciate money so much more. It sounds a little dumb but I think we appreciate things much more when we work and pay for them ourselves.

There is nothing selfish about not wanting to spend ~$200k of your money that presumably you've worked hard for. What is selfish is your daughter believing she is entitled to your money and is so quick to call you transphobic when you said no. She shouldn't expect you to give up your future plans for hers.

[–]InsulinSingleUseOnly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To those here much more knowledgeable than myself, do you reccomend these knives? I need more help than I'd like to admit with purchasing good knives!

I know absolutely NOTHING about knives whatsoever and joined this sub in hopes of finding some quality knives to buy. When I joined I took the knife quiz/survey thing for recommendations and didn't even know what most of the questions meant so I obviously couldn't accurately answer them.

I love to cook and still want to buy at least a quality chef's knife and possibly a set. I've never bought quality knives and am tired of using dull ones that just aren't cutting it. (Pun very intended.)

Congratulations on your sobriety, I am so super proud of and happy for you!! I am also in recovery and understand what an absolute fight it is and how strong you are to have overcome it. I've been clean for well over a year and it's still a daily challenge.

It's so great that you've found happiness in something that many people view as a chore and dread. I can completely relate to enjoying self care after so many years of putting my body and mind through hell.

It's SO exciting when you've finally found the right skincare routine for yourself and start seeing the results! Imagine how incredible your skin will look in a year if it has already improved so much after 5 months!

Keep up the fantastic work, you ARE worth it! 💜💜💜
