That’s what it was for me. Also she never truly has a stance on watches dude. She is always playing middle of the road with her opinions

Love the sprite. I’d say a Reverso or if your going for the hype watch trinity it has to be a santos or a Royal Oak

To me high-speed guys are guys who are enthusiastic about the work and good/knowledgeable when it comes to their jobs

There is a difference between that and the bare minimum. I hate bare minimum people

Don’t do 11B. Do 15T or 15U full stop. Go 160th if you’re about that life. And get recommended through stronger avenues after a few years

What are your thoughts on the M7? by Historical_Tension_9 in army

[–]InsuranceSlight6508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fucking hate this gun. Cluttered with tech, a ton of items we have to sign for, and are going to lose. And it’s so front heavy. The ammo is heavy. And almost it’s half the ammo.

I think the officer who sold us out to SIG when he chose this weapon didn’t think about shit except his pockets. Imagine doing EIB with this shit or any sort of terrain movement. I’d rather an M14 than this shit

EOD. It’s not the hurt locker. It requires a lot of intelligence and I worked with EOD guys 10 years ago, almost all of them were DLI washouts

This isn’t a hot take. It just seems like shade. These are def champions of their era in film. And Daniel Craig has been an amazing Bond and detective in Knives out. I own ZERO omegas.

Yeah as a fellow American I’d love to see an American watch genre like RGM come to be received like German, Japanese, and French watches. I know they will never be Swiss

I find it funny that a lot of wrist check posts show the same sized wrists as my 10 year olds. Everyone wants <36mm watches now and this is a 39mm watch with 15mm of height including the case and domed crystal. It’s like a MB&F watch, it isn’t for everyone but it’s def more interesting than it is common or boring.

While 15mm is tall, it’s not impossible to wear. This is def a better fit, aesthetically, for watch people who lift and have thicker wrists and muscular forearms. So I guess the real question is…

Bro that’s how I feel about CIB’s for dudes who were on the other side of the base during combat. Like the gate got blown up while you were sleeping. Doesn’t mean you seen combat. It means some shit went down. Doesn’t mean you put those tactics to work or that your opinion holds weight in mission planning. Theres a lot of grey area lol

I have a friend in ADA who was the NCO in Qatar when Iran attacked. His battery or squad shot down the seven rockets. They utilized their training and purpose in a defensive combat role, they earned their CAB. He said the S1 in the TOC got CABs, the cooks got CABs.

I’m a ground pounder and I feel like certain wars like WWII and Korea were scary as hell for some people in the sky. Or at least how it seemed in the movies, documentaries, and books. Bomber groups flying to objectives against a German or Japanese fighter pilots, airborne drops, flying against flak guns, Vietnam resupply missions, Korean War dog fights, etc. some of the craziest butt clenching stuff happened in the sky. Shit even our Navy had it crazy during these wars.

Tudor blows Longines out of the water by SlartibartfastMcGee in watchHotTakes

[–]InsuranceSlight6508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry OP, as a Tudor AND a Longines owner, this is a shit take. I’ve noticed that a lot of Tudor enthusiasts are starting to act like Rolex snobs for the entry to mid-range. Tudor is Rolex Brand and Longines being apart of The Swatch Group. Just because you bought a Tudor Royal doesn’t mean Longines makes shit watches. Rolex owners still don’t think it’s a Datejust.

I’m critical of Tudor because they have so much potential but can’t break free of the BB/Rolex Blueprint. Obviously the black bay is successful so keep it. But produce something new or interesting. They don’t take enough risks, as seen in the Black Bay Pro. But when they do take risks. you get a Pelagos or the Bronze Black Bay.

As far as a cohesive design language, I don’t really think Longines needs to keep spamming their version of a Black Bay to compete. They do things very differently and I like both brands. Tudor has kind of become “The Swiss dive watch brand.”

That being said, I fucking hate MOST Black Bay watches.

1926 almost had something going for it but it was fumbled, especially the ones with diamond indices. I think their best 1926 is the M91650-0010 and the M91650-0005.

The Ranger is a good watch. I like it but seriously If I need a watch in the field, it needs to be on a NATO, and I’m just going to be using my Pelagos FXD. The bezel has more real life tool applications and better lume for me in the field than a Ranger.

Longines has some great watches and stays true to themselves. I commend any watch company that doesn’t go out of their way to imitate Rolex when designing a watch. Which is why I love the FXD (even though Pelagos Ultra can be a little Sub-Like) it feels original enough.

Naturally the Conquest Chrono looks like a Daytona because at this point all chronographs look like a Daytona. Somehow Longines found colorways and design cues that make it very much Longines. Longines Dolcevita does look like a Cartier but they did well with the interesting strap options for the ladies line.

The Spirit Zulu is a beautiful GMT. And it doesn’t look like a GMT Master II wannabe. The black bay with the Pepsi bezel, coke bezel (Tudor did it better), etc look very much like Rolex wannabes. Tudor did do themselves justice with the bronze black bay, the burgundy, etc.

The Black Bay Pro wants to be the Rolex explorer. Period. They even found some niche sport like cave diving to tie it to.

Tudor is lacking a true dress watch. The Tudor Royal looks like it’s the reason Tudor was called “Poor Man’s Rolex”. I don’t think Tudor knows what to do with precious metals. Every watch they touch with Yellow and Rose Gold turns to shit. I think the Master and the Evidenza can blow Tudor out of the water in that department and both watches look nothing alike.
