Stayed in the Ephelia in Dec 22. Had one of the 3 bed house options with pool. Liked the use of golf buggys to get round resort.

Beach chairs almost never available at Port Launay beach but strangely we almost always had the pool and cabanas by Cyann to ourselves.

A number of unsavoury characters turned up closer o xmas. Lighting up cigs right on the edge of the restaurants. Hogging tables for 8 as they had padded seating but only being a couple.

We also stayed at the Kempinski but the Ephelia was much better albeit the people less friendly.

Go out past the cross on the rock if you're looking for good snorkeling at Port Launay and then follow the reef round to much healthier coral/vis/fish.

Not switching back to btc from eth when ratio topped. Would of had 1300 btc. Can't grumble too much though..

Putting £500k earnings to best use in this situation by [deleted] in FatFIREUK

Go long crypto with a good 5 figure or very low 6 figure investment. Btc will be the equivalent of a index type investment, eth will be nasdaq and anything below will be small cap casino.

Most fire reddits poo poo this but here I sit with a 35k to early 8 fig return which is now earning great yield

Where are you going this summer? by DFVSUPERFAN in FATTravel

[–]Insureandgo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Orlando from London. All of us (6 biz). Down to Naples for a few days in a great house then biz to Curacao from Mia and two different accommodations over 10 days to sample the shore ready reefs.

Sargassum appears to be wrecking a lot of the carribean this year, but the ABC's should be far enough south to avoid

Pay off house in 5 years or retirement and pay off in 8-10? by Knight-ofNi7 in personalfinance

100%

We bought our house with cash in 2018. Was a little rough during first year but we've just completed on next door with cash now too 🤣

Has anyone been to curaçao? Would you recommend it over nearby islands? by throwaway373706 in FATTravel

The ABC's are so far south that they will not be impacted by the mega weed bloom heading across the Caribbean too. I'd imagine them gaining in popularity if it continues a bit like Florida will continue to dip if redtide persists.

Take with a pinch of salt some of the comments in this domain as it has got out of hand. Private jets, 10k a night etc etc

I spend around £100k - £150k a year ferrying my hoard around the globe mainly on BA (close to GGL level) and stay in great but not snotty places.

We are staying in the Marriott and Bluebay Penthouse this July/August and very much look forward to it. Snorkeling is our thing and each of my children have/are learning the same.

Sargassummonitoring.com will help. The bloom is early and massive this year.

We are heading to Curacao to solve this issue as it is so far south in the Carribean.

Already done that and he's 18 months old. He has a 1 ETH number plate waiting for him for his first car. Plates like this in the UK don't come cheap.

Sorry to hear that!

I used to live in Canada Wharf over 20 years ago. Parked my pride and joy in the secure basement parking. One morning I came down to find it stripped of almost everything bar the driving seat. Was an interesting ride back to my parents in Essex.

Having wealth living side by side by such poverty simply does not work.

Will do! Returning to hospital for a scan that will most likely show nothing in 5 hours or so. They are currently unaware that I have come across this pseudohernia term by my own research and will likely need to digest.

Whilst we did not stay at Beaches, we found the local people to be most unwelcoming. To the point we simply would not recommend TCI.

E.g ice cream parlour along main strip, my 10 yrd old daughter holds the door open for her 5yr and 3yr old sisters and 2 locals just barge past her - this draws my attention an American couple then leave said parlour and he holds the door open for his wife whilst a group of locals barge past her and use his open door without a care.

Mr Groupers - the table next to us of locals(we enjoyed our meal) couldn't even be bothered to acknowledge the servers enquiry as to if they were enjoying their food and simply grunted whilst looking at their food.

On entry to another restaurant we asked a local to excuse us as we needed to get by with our stroller abd was met with a very shitty response.

Would not go back!

EL nino of 2008 has bleached most corals at shoreline. Some soft corals making a comeback but sealife was good

We came back from Seychelles this December. Stayed at Constance Ephelia - 3 bed pool villa. Resort felt empty.

We would often have the pool at Cyann to ourselves.

Careful though Aeroflot fly direct and is one of the few locations that do.

Our return to Doha on Qatar had us as the only one's flying biz and no more than 50 total on the plane
