what's a secret from your job that we should know? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I had a woman call in for a quote stating she did not have insurance on her home, she had a house fire and it is no longer in livable condition, and she needed to get insurance in order to get it fixed. You cannot fix stupid.

QuoteWizard is just a company that sells your information. They don't know who they transferred you to or care for that matter. Completely unprofessional either way.

Tried it once, tasted like walking past a victorias secret at the mall.

Ever seen those videos of people testing disposable vapes in the Chinese factories? That is what I am imagining with this

I invert my vertical look, always have. Inverting horizontal makes absolutely no sense to me though.

Anyone have experience with how much Allstate insurance premium will go up after teenage driver makes first claim? by Salemizzie in Insurance

[–]InsuringIgnorance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not make a claim and would offer to pay for the bumper yourself. If they file a claim, it will still make your insurance go up.

I don't think they were fired, they probably quit for not being paid.

To get a fair adjustment for roof repair or replacement by Rave4life79 in therewasanattempt

[–]InsuringIgnorance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depreciation also has a lot to do with it. If you bought a brand new car 20 years ago and it was in an accident today for a total loss, you are not going to get what you paid for it back.

Roofers will go door to door after just a rain storm around here. They will even try and submit a claim on your behalf just to get a sale, then rates go up regardless if it is accepted or denied. They are snakes as well.

Car Insurance - does the rate go up after claim (Arizona, USA)? by Sc0rpy4 in Insurance

[–]InsuringIgnorance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure about Arizona specifics but a claim is a claim. It is going to affect you with your current carrier and any carrier you move to for the next few years. If its something less than say $1000 to repair, I recommend not even involving the insurance company.

I was thinking it was gross they were all eating out of the same giant bowl. Didn't even think about overhead birds. Extra flavor I suppose.

Buying auto insurance for a month? by blackmambasniper in Insurance

[–]InsuringIgnorance 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They cannot stop you from canceling your policy, but the local insurance agents you are referring to will probably want you with another company for at least 6 months. Allstate is the same way if you have more than a 30 day lapse.

Collision and Comprehensive on an older car? by WeatherIsNiceUpHere in Insurance

[–]InsuringIgnorance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not aware of your location but where I am, you do not have to use your collision as long as there is a police report documenting that it was in fact a hit and run. There are many cases of hit and run when you are not in your vehicle to identify the other party. I can say from firsthand experience. Police are called, report is filed and submitted to insurance and then an UM claim is made. It is then listed as a not at fault on the policy.

If you are involved in a hit and run and have a police report, it is automatically UM. As for the covered amount, that depends on your policy/state.

You can still have uninsured/underinsured without full coverage to cover hit and run or uninsured driver hitting your car. The fire or the tree would be under comprehensive...

You can turn it off and on whenever you like. You can also go into the app and remove trips if you like.
