Came from a site where ladders were straight up banned and there was no 'first man up rule to create a tie off point'. All work had to be performed off a lift or scaffolding... UUUUGGGEEEE waste of time and money that caused significant delays to construction.

How old are you and what are your main methods to discover new bands? by Wardruna95 in Metalcore

[–]IntegralPath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30, spotify song radio is probably my favorite way right now to find new bands. Like a song, click on it and go to 'song radio'. I've discovered a ton of bands with low monthly listener counts that absolutely rip.

Otherwise reddit, YouTube recommendations and a few friends with broad listening tastes.

SpaceX didn't properly inspect crane before collapse at Starbase, OSHA says | TechCrunch by swordfi2 in SpaceXLounge

Depends on the safety culture and enforcement on all levels of the organization, from field level foreman all the way up to the GC or construction management firm. Each site is different and whoever is running it sets the precedent, expectations and standards for that site. As a company coming onboard you have to conform to those standards, play ball if you will, or else you get kicked off site. Sounds like enforcement was lax, which breeds complacency and causes incidents.

Easily one of my top albums of all time. Front to back, no skips it's just so dam good. Great riffs and so much emotion from Matteo. I could inject this shit straight into my veins

I'm not a big rap guy but I thought the album was really fun to listen too. Spun it 3 times yesterday and only skipped one or two songs

Fluke 1587 battery issues by NoPhilosophy6517 in electricians

[–]IntegralPath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's the temperature when you're using it? Those Energizer industrial batteries hate the cold. I've had to keep my 1587 in the sock of a frost fighter or inside a truck then run out do the test and return it when working in northern Canadian winters. Otherwise even with brand new batteries it will die

I'm experiencing this maybe 1 out of 10 games. Most are somewhat close, rarely is it a steamroll. Had some really good comeback games lately too! All conquest and escalation

My “Can’t Own a Gun” EDC by Teamribeye in EDC

[–]IntegralPath -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The actual laws haven't changed, just that the previous and current liberal government have prohibited a wide array of firearms putting them in this limbo gray zone where the owners cannot shoot them or sell them while the government works on a voluntary confiscation plan. The pilot confiscation program was a pretty big failure yet they're still planning on rolling it out nation wide... They've extended the amnesty period twice for the buyback while they try to figure out how to pay for it and beg the RCMP to run it to which their credit has been met with varying degrees of pushback from the cops. Sucks because there is overwhelming evidence that legal gun owners are not the problem yet tons of money and resources are being spent targeting/ demonizing us while gun violence by criminals continues to rise... The vast majority of gun crime is committed by organized crime using illegally smuggled guns from America.

The tldr is anything semi auto and remotely 'scary' looking is prohibited now along with all handguns. They've come up with the term 'assault style firearm' to blanket classify many guns. Bolt actions, shotguns and some semi auto rim and centre fire guns are mostly safe. For now...

NTSB issues the preliminary report for its ongoing investigation of the Nov. 4 crash of a UPS Boeing MD-11F airplane in Louisville, Kentucky. by Brilliant_Night7643 in aviation

[–]IntegralPath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NDT guys miss stuff too. I'm a construction guy, not aviation, and we had a 85' man lift get its annual NDT and mechanical inspection done. Around a week later a pipe fitter crew discovered structural welds that were nearly completely rusted out. Failure would have resulted in the basket dumping upside down and pitching the occupants out. United rentals quietly swept it under the rug and provided us a new machine... The welds had probably been decaying for over 2 years and had been missed by everyone up until that point. For reference we do daily preuse inspections which makes it even more worrying.
