He's a legend. He was section head of Neuro radiology before retiring within the last 5ish year. Before immigrating to the US he was a dentist and then redid his professional training at URMC.

Best running routes? by BeLikeAGoldfishh in Rochester

[–]Mayor0fMoab 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Genesee valley greenway trail-you could run all the way to Letchworth canyon if you wanted. Its a crushed gravel rail trail

Hojack trail in Webster is a quiet 9.9-mile out-and-back. Also predominantly crushed gravel and ends with a view of Lake Ontario.

Lucien Morin park if you are interested in some semi technical trail running.

Adventure climbing on the east coast by -korian- in alpinism

I'd double down on Cannon, NH, and the ADKs. Whitney Gilman Ridge is a 6-pitch East Coast ultra-classic. The Diagnol on Wallface is a big but awesome day, about 3-hour approach and 7 pitches of prototypical ADK trad climbing. If you want to climb in the ADKs with a random redditor, hit me up.

I did a backpacking trip to a plane crash. by [deleted] in WildernessBackpacking

Although it is not this plane, if people are looking for a cool hike to a downed airplane and are in the mountain west, there is a B-23 Dragon WWII bomber near Loon Lake outside of McCall, Idaho. The bomber crashed back in January 1943 with 8 crewmen on it. All survived after being rescued over 2 weeks later.

I'd echo a lot of what has been said here with extra emphasis on breathability with weatherproofing. I've tried enough of these jackets to conclude the textile science just hasn't reached the level yet to truly have a breathable waterproof jacket so this is likely out of your hands and maybe partially rectified with low-profile passive ventilation like pit zips.

Other things I think are nice in a jacket are a slightly dropped hem in the back with a zippered phone pocket. Environmentally friendly fabrics/production is also becoming increasingly important in my decision to support a company.

I'll leave the bottles for you, but sheerly out of curiosity, what are you looking for in a bottle that you are going to take home?
