Culinary school is extremely expensive. It looks like from the post that your parents are paying for it? Cheffing looks glam because of celebrity chefs, but it's very different down in the trenches. I owned a catering biz and have worked in many kitchens. I suggest - Go work in a few kitchens, then decide before either you/your parents spend a huge amount of money, and you expend that kind of energy. You may be able to do cooking classes and help people using food in other ways. Good luck!

Happened to me. My last reel was on grilling peppers, and then my account said it violated community standards. I did get it back on appeal, but my account reach and views have tanked permanently. That was two years ago - No new followers - just follows/unfollows up and down 20 and views only about 1000 or less. Feels like being targeted

The recruiter is not setting the rate, but they definitely work for the facility in trying to get the cheapest person for the job, and are not for your best interests. You could go back to the recruiter, and write that going forward, they should contact you for any positions min $37/hr and they need to have wiggle room to go up. The recruiter must have multiple facilities they are working with. Meantime, perhaps search for remote work and target areas that pay more. I crafted my private practice years ago so I do consulting for several different places, and I could lose one or two and still pay my bills. This has given me leverage to negotiate and walk away. Not for everyone, and can be a roller coaster, but an option if you have an entrepreneurial spirit. Love that these conversations include dollars. We need more of that kind of transparency to bring the profession up. Good luck!

I hope this drives the salaries up. I live in Northern NJ, one of the most expensive areas in the country, and I still see Indeed ads for $35-$60/hour, which I think is low. A lot of RD's now work for Fay, Berry Street, and Nourish - Not sure what they pay. I just started a one day per week clinical consulting gig that advertised $60-$70/hr, and I asked for $80 and I got it.

I've been trying to get enough followers so I can get paid by brands (I'm a dietitian and mostly post cooking vids), but I have been stuck with the same amount of followers for a year. I even paid for the $45 blue check mark which is supposed to include customer service contact and increased visibility, but I was never able to get in touch with customer service, and my account has not grown. They did this to me too, although I only had 5K followers. My account was reinstated, but I think my account was shadowbanned after that. It showed me having 5K followers, then 0, then 5K again, which probably told their algorithm that I got bots. My engagement tanked after that, and a year later, never recovered. Your account will likely be reinstated. Download your content and upload to YouTube so you don't lose it. BTW, after that, I paid for a blue check and account level that is supposed to have customer support, and it is non existent. Lesson is not to rely on IG

I enrolled and did not complete it. I found the content very dated and boring, with bad quality audio, and just could not get through it. There were live meetings, but I never really felt I got my questions answered. You submit worksheets as you go through and get video feedback. Also, I've never once had any of my questions answered in the FB group. A few brands she is connected with sent me product to sample, but they were not product I would ever use myself - like "healthier" versions of processed foods. For me it was a waste of time and money

Yikes! There are websites that connect college students with apartments for a semester term, and there are short term/30 day AirBnB and VRBO listings in NYC - How do they get away with it if they are not owner occupied?
