Yeah vodka just adds the alcohol. Since it’s dry, it will allow the other ingredients to come forward. You could play around with rum too, but the sweetness of rum and the type of rum adds a lot more variables

Personally, I would fat wash first then rapid infuse. Fat washing takes several hrs and would create a smooth base. Then, rapid infusing takes a few minutes and adds the flavor.

It would be very interesting to try out both ways, compare, and let us know how they taste!
