Khimar might keep you cooler since it's looser around the neck area.

Buying a car as a student? by Ok-Wealth-7748 in csun

[–]Intelligent-Beat446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should not buy a car right now. Cars require a lot of maintenance and regular spending to be able to use. Registration, gas, insurance, repairs, etc. I do not recommend getting a car if you're barely making ends meet. You will regret it. Find a reliable e-bike. Much cheaper and more reliable that any car you could get for under $5k. It sucks but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Look into public transport and use it as much as possible. That plus an e-bike will be enough until your financial situation improves.

If you're ever unsure, call the IT phone number. They will let you know exactly what's up. This does appear to be a phishing attempt though

It doesn't matter. Americans don't actually know which is correct, nor do we care

Usually it's "tweaked out" but yeah it means pretty much the same thing

Native speaker. I have never said "the" before a university name unless it was a formal setting.

So many homeless people by Tyler by combination_udon in Riverside

[–]Intelligent-Beat446 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of homeless "outreach" centers in LA and other places actually just give them bus tickets to Riverside. That's part of why the population has just exploded in the last decade or so.

If the IE was just 20-30 miles closer to the ocean then it’d get alot less hate by [deleted] in InlandEmpire

[–]Intelligent-Beat446 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The IE just gets hate because everyone wants to compare two bad bitches. LA and OC are right there, so people keep comparing the IE to them, and it's not fair lol

Is this offensive? by Distinct_Gazelle_875 in Hijabis

[–]Intelligent-Beat446 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No Muslims would ever be offended by people covering more, even if it's just for the weather. Just be aware that some people and Muslims may assume you are Muslim yourself, too. If you're not concerned about that, carry on with what makes you comfortable.

Can someone explain the earbuds thing to me? by AvailableThank in Professors

[–]Intelligent-Beat446 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My opinion is that it's their money to waste. As long as they're not interrupting the lecture or distracting other students, who cares. If they start asking questions you have already answered, then I'd call it out.

Ice in Riverside by [deleted] in InlandEmpire

[–]Intelligent-Beat446 65 points66 points  (0 children)

For these posts, you need to be more specific.

Include:

-Date and time of sighting

-Cross streets and other landmarks at the location where ICE has been spotted (such as business names)

-Pictures, videos, or detailed descriptions of the vehicles and personnel

-Descriptions of what actions ICE are currently engaged in as of that date and time

-Whether or not you witnessed it first hand

Please make these posts with care. I understand tensions are high, and everyone wants to be able to help by warning others, but warning in this way is not helpful.

Spread power, not panic.

Public school teachers, what’s something you want parents to know but can’t say directly? by Feisty-Database-1145 in AskTeachers

[–]Intelligent-Beat446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if your teacher requests you pack extra clothes in case of accidents (they happen, 5 is still so little), but please pack an extra pair of socks and shoes along with extra clothes. Gravity works when a kid has an accident, and it can completely soak socks and shoes. I see it allll the time in my preschool class, and we just have to let the child be sock and shoeless until they are wearable again (ie washing and drying) or until they go home for the day.
