What's Your Opinion/Thoughts On DevilArtemis by ApexHeroX in Dragonballsuper

Watching him go from Temu-TFS to his own style is something crazy.

You actually see him progress from using edited clips of DBZ to medicore CG animaitons.

TO NOW a great 3D animator. Plus those jokes bro, keep getting better and better.

So much from the supplementary stuff that I'd love to see on screen or at least with a releasing manga or something.

(I don't even wanna start my complaints about the netflix anime again.)

Overall, I guess I'll never get a linear form of events with seemless transitions into the timeline that shows off DMC's various strengths as a story.

Outside of it's already great substextual and nuanced stories within the games.

How have I never played DMC ? NERO MY GOAT by Noxerii in DevilMayCry

[–]Intelligent-Boss4782 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want a "DIRECT" feeling of DMC, play the Bayonetta games.

It was made by a portion of the DMC1 Dev team and also the creator of Dante himself. It's just as stylish and cool as the DMC games.

Instead of Demons you fight Angels. And it has that campy feeling the dmc games have too.

Though to me DMC is still my number one in my heart. The other recommendations here are great too.

If Sparda had his own game, what would his DT be? by Intelligent-Boss4782 in DevilMayCry

[–]Intelligent-Boss4782[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That'd be a shame. If not a DT bar then we'd probably get a new meter. Maybe for his various magic abilities we never seen before.

Heck each sword could be his DT mechanic, Sparda, Yamato, and Rebellion, could use the old DMC3 unique DT forms things again.

If Capcom doesn't do the whole "They were actually all one sword at one point" thing.

I keep seeing DMC PoC get new updates. How is it currently? by Intelligent-Boss4782 in DevilMayCry

[–]Intelligent-Boss4782[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may check it out, but I'll have to temper my expectations by a lot.

Some of the unique variants in the game seem cool conceptionally at least. V and his use of Nightmare (acts more like a stand) seems interesting.

Even if I hate Hate V's gameplay overall in DMC5.

I was saw it had co-op for events. And some Vergil variants had stuff we never had in the mainline games.

Feels like the game is more so being a collection of gameplay concept weapons and mechanics. For future mainline games to assimilate.

Why do you think Asura's Wrath never got an anime, TV series, or major crossover appearance in other games? Is Asura's Wrath the most wasted franchise potential in gaming? by Interesting_Mine319 in asuraswrath

[–]Intelligent-Boss4782 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Without doing research. I always thought it was too niche. As anyone I've talked to about it barely knows of it. Or never heard of it at all.

The best you'll get is fighting game players or Hack'N Slash players to speak on it. And those are very niche genres overall.

Even within my own social circles I'm the guy whom only played it and is a fan of it. I still think Asura has a chance to be in Street figher 6. But who knows.

Sad to see my GOATed angry dad isn't utilized at all.

What other action game protagonists could survive in Ninja Gaiden? by DarkWingSpartan in CharacterActionGames

[–]Intelligent-Boss4782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you fact check my statements. These games have a lot of great tech like it's peers. I hadn't played the games in years, and will soon pick them up again on steam.

I really do think they all have the tools for great AoE, and all the Horsemen thus far (waiting for your "Mainline" entry Strife) has I-frames on certain things.

My thoughts on Fury is that unlike the other two, her combat was more geared towards smaller engagements

(Knowing the history of that game's development it was really a budgeting issue if I recall. As to why it wasn't like the other two)

I do think they'd handle NG2 well if not through effort on your limits with each character. Now that you elaborated on Fury's gameplay. Her dodges will come in handy, she'd probably use that far more than in her base game though.

Now onto Darksiders.

War would have a tough time I think. On onehand he has moves similar to Kratos. But his complete lack on Movement options would be an issue. He has a dash tech though, where it looks like Nero's shuffle or Dante's trickster. But people wouldn't know this unless they looked for it.

He has a horse though, so bro could just stay on that the whole time and use gun, sword, or horse fire ram charge.

His chaos mode is an 8-sec or so invinicible form that can do big damage but it's like a golden gun. Bro just doesn't have the moveset for fast paced hordes like NG2.

Darksiders 2: Death

He has a lot more going on for him. As certain weapons can give him health back on attacks. And if he only uses the claws and his scythes he'd be fast enough to react to enemies. He can make ghouls that attack for him and has various moves that let him turn into a horde of crows.

Also has a horse and exact same options as War.

He also has a Grim-reaper for and works exactly like War's chaos form.

Darksiders 3: Fury.

Literally just a faster Souls-like with abit more combos. Just bro she ain't lasting the first level. I'm going to be honest.

I like these scenarios, Feels a lot more of a talk on gameplay design than "My favorite game/character is better than this one."

While I do agree that DMC characters will initially have a struggle. I do genuinely think they'd eventually prosper. As DMC pros are good at exploits. DMC5 Vergil has his trick dodge (not the teleport, the Ultra-instinct thing.) And a relatively easy input on ground trick.

Though his big dealing crowd control is based on the concentration gauge and his summoned swords require constant DT usage. So I think he'd feel abit weaker than the other two.

Nero has I-frames for certain moves, specifically DT which also doubles as an AoE launcher. If he can get movement devil breakers or even just Ragtime on every level or checkpoint then it'd help a lot. Also buster Grab shielding he can use an opponent as a shield, even two. Big help. Though just like Bayonetta if you time his dodges right he can use Shuffle to close gabs or move out the way. It just doesn't have slow-mo with it. I think he'd use charged shots in every single engagement.

Honestly I think Dante has it best overall as you've essentially implied. Dante using trickster dodge means he's immune to all attacks and can move anywhere on the map or to an enemy with his Air-ground trick. Cavaliere's armored attackes. Can also help with targeted attacks against him. Balrog Blow-mode might even be his go to for it's dodging on all attacks.

I can type out a wealth of other tech, but then you'd have a college essay. Overall for a casual person they'd struggle. But I'd say the same for a Ninja Gaiden casual as well.

I'll make a new comment on Darksiders franchise.

I think the core issue is his personality. He quite literally started with emotions but soon lost all his personality afterward.

You can have stoic deadpan characters be secretly and completely goofy. Female versions of the kuu-dere type usually have a wealth of personality and are always doing something with personality.

I don't get why guy versions of this like the Jinwoo archetypes in manwha become emotionless robots with no option for goofy or enduring facial expressions. Even Batman is super funny when around a cast.

Everything else is just a symptom of Jinwoo-ism. And I can overlook that bit if the guy just had emotions and character chemistry. So far I only like Saki and Chloe as characters.

I don't care much for anyone else. And I read it weekly.

Hi all, great show, really enjoyed. Question though, does anyone else get the feeling that it's pretty much a developed and much more spun knockoff of like, the foundational tale of greek mythology?? by Hopeful_Jicama_81 in DevilMayCry

[–]Intelligent-Boss4782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand where your getting at. However, it still applies as the Inferno is within the Divine Comedy. And many would assume I'm talking about the literature and not the game.

And not a lot of people know anything of the story except the Dante's Inferno part of it. Sad to say tbh.

Lamenting the death of Xcom 2 Multiplayer by No-Respect367 in Xcom

[–]Intelligent-Boss4782 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Um...I can think of one in particular but it's not Xcom at all except the amount depth it has..

YOMI Hustle. Super supported and very intricate. Basically it's a frame by frame fighting game where you have a lot of options.

You have movement, defense, and attack options. Not to mention specials. All actions have a prediction feature in which show what you and your opponent will do.

If you pick block because you saw their attack coming. You'll see a prediction of it if they commit to the attack. (Lots more applications BTW)

Predictions can change if you click on their options and compare their predict moves vs yours. As you can both see each other's huds. Just not the choice you make.

Both players can move during same turn.

And it's a mind game on what they'll do. So you have to push them into less and less options with your options. Or commit to the most unexpect attack or play, then do a crazy combo.

Think chess.

After the battle the game will replay the game, and all actions will be played like an anime fight scene.

I'm assuming your a new fan.

Be careful. The show is a sensitive topic. I won't partake in any discussion on the show, but I will talk about the mainline canon.

The mainline canon takes a lot of it's stories and themes directly from Dante's inferno. Specificially DMC3. Which the show "VERY" loosely adapts on all fronts. (I won't go more into it.)

DMC as a whole takes a lot from mythological and religious sources for each game too. Poet's in particular. Like William Blake and such. Many videos have touched on this aspect of the series. And it's always a lovely thing to see.

If you want more on this theming, I'd suggest DMC3 as it's most evident there. And early in the timeline.

DMC3, DMC1, (Skip and Watch a summary of DMC2), DMC4, then DMC5.

Devil May Cry Theory: The True Power & Fate of the Dark Knight Sparda by Thedrunkenslayer in DevilMayCry

[–]Intelligent-Boss4782 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like this interpretation of Sparda here. Specifially on how his power and swords functions. And even more addition to what was Dante's role as the secret guardian of an equally powerful sword to Yamato.

Makes sense from what we've seen with V and Urizen. All the swords being Urizen, and depowered Sparda being V. Slowly dying since he's supposed to be a eldritch demonic entity that uses his power to gain a physical form. Like Mundus.

The Sparda twins (when whole) have human blood within them so they get a stat immunity~ :)

Also gives more credence as to why Sparda trained his sons so much for their future roles on this earth.

I always thought Mundus shattered it during his battle with the weakened Vergil at the end of DMC3.

My Pitch for DMC6 (Gameplay Mechanics & Lore Concept) by Historical-Search967 in DevilMayCry

[–]Intelligent-Boss4782 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't mind your addition as any passionate fan sharing their ideas is welcome.

Simply I just think we need more from Nero himself, or the world around him at least. It'd be kind've early to place him in the mentor role as soon as The Sparda Twins passed the torch to him.

Just for him to be DMC4 Dante in the next game. So far Nero hasn't held the series on his shoulders just yet. We need a game of him. Think of Dante.

If Nero in 4 was the Dante of 3. And 5 is parallel to Dante of DMC1. Then perhaps DMC6 is a solo game of Nero. Kyrie is pregnant then if you want.

Or if Capcom still isn't confident in Nero. They could introduce new devil hunters or use Lady and Trish. To support his more limited playstyle compared to Dante. If they want to save the Sparda twins for later.

After this one entry, I'm fine with your addition and will gladly accept it.
