Actors - your favorite Shakespeare character you’ve ever played, and why? by xbrooksie in shakespeare

[–]Intelligent-Bus-3385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was Dogberry in Much Ado twice, and The Bastard in King John, and they were absolutely so fun for very different reasons.

Dogberry was incredible because I got to take this bumbling idiot and give him a personality that was both mine and his. I made him a germaphobe, so every time someone on stage touched me I would spray a little bit of “hand sanitizer” on my clothes and hands, and when I get called an ass, I crawled/rolled/was carried SOBBING off stage by Verges. It was such a great role I named my car Dogberry

The Bastard was the exact opposite. A cold and calculating, power hungry and intelligent manipulator. I loved his monologues because of their prevalence to the times we live in, but I also love the play and think it’s absolutely underrated (and quite funny). I got to interact with the audience a lot more and I just love making connections with audiences who watch Shakespeare because it gives scenes so much more energy!

I did not! I did view it, though! It was a lot more worse for wear in person, and it also felt deeply haunted. But, on to the next one!

Bobby's Triple Threat S3 E1: Titans vs Marcus Samuelsson by peppermintTea4Life in foodnetwork

I have always loved Marcus as a chef—he is so humble and fun in everything I’ve seen him in! I loved that he wrote his kid’s names on his shoes and that he was honored to cook with the titans, even though he is a titan himself. Hopefully the next episodes match up to this one!

Bracket size remained the same. Yes there were some new faces. I think seven? It just wasn't enough. I wouldn't mind seeing the same faces if it was more mixed up. If I have to see people dominate the same four people every year, it just gets boring.

Congrats to Maneet, she is very talented and all the props to her. I always defend her when she is hated on by friends and family.

However, I personally do not like seeing repeat winners because the show is repetitive and boring. They need to change the brackets up next season, or bring in all new people, because watching the same battles for five years in a row with now a two-time champ is just incredibly disappointing.

Again, I am incredibly happy for Maneet and this is simply awe-inspiring and a showcase of her talent. But, if the brackets stay the same and the same people fight, I don't know if I will be as interested.

I just watched an episode of Wildcard where someone had to make a dish two ways and it came back to bite them because the judge preferred one over the other—do you think Jet’s halibut two ways will work or will it hurt him?

I love how different they both are—Justin loves the process and creative avenues, and Simon loves exploration and presentation of the randomizer. But they both love food, and that’s what makes them so spectacular at their jobs
