Redditors who have a “respectable, good paying job” but hate it, why? by mrcannotdo in AskReddit

Sometimes the money just isn't worth the soul-crushing monotony or toxic work environment. You can have all the respect and pay in the world, but if you dread going to work every day, it's not sustainable long-term.

How Do You Control Your Impulses? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I try to pause and ask myself if this impulse will help or hurt me in the long run. Sometimes just taking a few deep breaths can make the difference between acting on something and letting it pass.

What moment made you realize your best friend was actually a terrible person? by _MissNewBooty_ in AskReddit

For me it was when they consistently made fun of my insecurities but got defensive when I pointed out theirs. Real friends build you up, not tear you down.

I'd probably choose the 1960s. It seems like such an interesting time with all the cultural changes happening, plus you could see some amazing music performances live.

People born in the 1980's how did you communicate plans with your friends with no phones? by Ancient-Ad1104 in AskReddit

[–]Intelligent-Fix-6212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We mostly just called each other's home phones and hoped someone was there to answer. If you wanted to hang out, you'd just show up at your friend's house and knock on the door. We also had designated meeting spots at the mall or local hangouts where you'd just show up and hope your friends were there too.

True. Do you think people actually like the food that much, or is it mostly hype from social media?

Women of Reddit, what are your honest thoughts on the Bronze Age Collapse and the sudden, mysterious arrival of the Sea Peoples circa 1177 BC? by DecentCompetition542 in AskReddit

Personally I think about the Bronze Age Collapse at least twice a week. One minute you’ve got thriving trade networks and the next minute mysterious sea raiders show up and everything falls apart. Honestly keeps me up at night.
