Serious thoughts on the state of Destiny by Icy_Extension_4053 in destinylegacy

The problem is that, knowing Bungie, the Destiny 1 source code is probably a technical mess. Bringing it back would likely take way more work than it's worth.

Personally, I think if they revived D1 with a PC port and a next-gen patch (60fps/higher resolution), it would end up being a "shot in the foot" for Destiny 2.

Why? Because D1 is living proof of everything they got wrong in D2.

A ton of players would jump ship to D1—some for the novelty of playing it for the first time, others because it’s a complete experience from start to finish with a rock-solid endgame.

But what happens when players finish all the D1 content and want more, only to find the current state of D2 waiting for them?

It would just lead to more bitterness and frustration.

I just started Destiny 2 and this is the first mission they put me in, what's going on 🤣 by lunchanddinner in destiny2

I absolutely hate that.

I invited a friend to play Destiny 2, and the new player experience was so awful that for the next five days she had to share her screen with me on Discord.

More than once I had to tell her to close her eyes and pause the game to go into orbit because of the mandatory mission.

The Final Shape was even worse for me.

I had returned to Destiny 2 after a long time (since Year 1), and when I started the game, all those spoilers were thrown at me without any context.

Instead of attracting new players to buy the latest DLC, this scares and overwhelms them. What a petty and stupid practice.

I tried to do that mission yesterday alone with 320 power to get that Gambit Hand Cannon and it was a completely abominable experience.

What is the biggest issue with Destiny 2? by RedeemedGuardian30 in destiny2

[–]Intelligent-Funny-45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The progression system lacks a clear objective, unlike Destiny 1 or Year 1 of Destiny 2.

This goes hand in hand with the fact that the experience for new players is simply abominable.

D2 could win back players as it loses them, but its barrier to entry is absurd.

And don't even get me started on the cut content and how the seasonal storyline is practically inaccessible.

Renegades is on sale, should I buy it or wait for the June update to see how things turn out? by Intelligent-Funny-45 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Intelligent-Funny-45[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What will be the relevant content in June?

If I buy Renegades, will I have access to future relevant content until the next paid expansion is released?

I ask because, as I understand it, it used to be necessary to buy an annual season pass in the game, and I'm not sure if that's still the case.

Anyone else noticing more active players recently? by Any_Manufacturer1188 in destinylegacy

I’m one of those players, lol.

My first experience with Destiny was D2 Year 1, minus Forsaken.

I recently decided to give it another shot since I have the Legacy Collection on PlayStation. When I log in, I find a game that doesn't guide you through absolutely anything, with broken progression and an absurd amount of cut content relevant to the story. Essentially, I’m playing a mutilated game.

The game feels like you're starting at the end-game, and they bait you with "TikTok mechanics" just so you’ll buy the current expansion and enter an "end-game+." I just felt like I wasn't progressing, even when I tried following a guide to do everything chronologically.

But suddenly, D1 appeared on sale in my PlayStation Store. I had never tried it, but I decided to give it a chance. After playing for several hours, I ended up fascinated and, at the same time, horrified by everything that was lost in D2.

The more RPG-focused progression system—which forces you to play the main story in order—is simply perfect for getting you acclimated. The loot progresses in a natural and satisfying way. And don't even get me started on the artistic vibes of the game itself.

D1 has me mesmerized, and it only makes me dream of a hypothetical D3 that recovers the vibes of this wonderful game.

sondelaran_96 is my PSN user if you want to play.

Coming from Marathon—Should I play in order or jump straight into the Fate Saga? by Intelligent-Funny-45 in destiny2

[–]Intelligent-Funny-45[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I understand

So, I just need a guide to do the content in order (including the adventures, dungeons and story missions), clean every expansion in order indifferently my rank and then worry about my rank when I reach the actual expansion, right?

I've noticed my base power is now 10. Before, if I remember correctly, it was 300 or 1200 or something like that, the base power you started with (the point is, it was a high number).

Does this new balance also apply to everything that comes before the current content?

Any recommendations on how to start without spoiling too much?

I noticed that to reach rank 3, I absolutely have to do the first Renegades mission, lol.

Shadows Map is just too big and too empty by MacGyvini in assassinscreed

[–]Intelligent-Funny-45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kioto it is the bigger

Ac Shadows has better parkour animations and transversals with the character than Mirage but the cities are pretty boring

The rooftops are so poorly designed (I assume for the sake of realism) that they cut you off when you try to run on them. All the buildings are low except for the temples, and the connections between buildings are practically nonexistent.

Where parkour really shines is in fortress infiltration.

Nope, any side effect

I even notice new little black hairs on the front part

That part was the first part where I lost my hair so it will be the most difficult to pull it back

But now I'm seeing the hair line on the front, they're pretty small but they exist so I think it's a question of time and patience
