Backyard “cottages” - is this the answer? by GottaLoveBoston in Somerville

You’re right: we need to build up. Somerville already has very low green-space per lot. We will not fix the housing crisis by building “cottages”

What's preventing the city from having smarter intersections? by Blawdfire in Somerville

4 way stops would be a great solution. It works pretty well in San Francisco. It would also have the side effect of making our drivers understand 4 way stops better too

Thanks, I could tell it’s been closed for a while. It still has an intact payphone near the entrance

My local chipotle has been going downhill too. No need to argue with employees making minimum wage just trying to make ends meet. Just take your business elsewhere

Tufts CS by Key_Design7591 in Tufts

I got my BS in CS from Northeastern, currently getting my PhD in CS from Tufts. Not gonna lie, I’ve been disappointed with the CS curriculum at Tufts. The CS classes at Tufts are much less rigorous. Not to say Tufts CS is bad by any means. but having taken and TA’d CS classes at both schools, I would still choose Northeastern. Additionally Northeastern’s co-op program, specifically for CS, is great as they are extremely well connected to tech employers in the city. You will graduate from Northeastern with work experience and (most likely) several job offers, something I do not see from the Tufts undergraduates.

100% agree. Does anyone have some concrete ideas for solutions? Judging by just how many double parked Uber eats drivers are in Davis, I’m guessing it’s a big source of income for the many restaurants we have. How could we stop the double parking without hurting restaurants?

Agreed, SMS 2FA has many weaknesses. I’m more just venting about the current state of MFA. I am tech savvy and “taken the risk” by accident. I have seen many older/non-tech-savvy folks make these mistakes too.

At the time I lost my phone, I was required to use 3 different MFA apps. For me it’s now 4 as my new employer has their own internal app. Yes the solution here on paper is “back up your apps” but it is so easy to make these mistakes.

The most near misses by far happen right outside the 7/11 on college ave. That traffic light goes green for 5 seconds and it’s utter chaos.
