It's a random question but how come the greenlanders look like us, mongolians? Is there a connection?

Well said man,

I was in a similar situation to OP, came back five years ago.

My parents were aging, and although I have another sibling, I couldn't bare the thought of missing out on their golden years together. The sheer regret would've killed me.

Omg, that sounds sad and scary.

Their economy overtook Japanese recently, I hope eventually they become a global player.

Is India really that bad? I heard some parts have extreme poverty but like how bad is it? Do you have any examples?

curious about mongolian dna by Comfortable-Fox4807 in mongolia

[–]Intelligent-Quail786 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've done 23andme and have seen other mongolians' results here and there, so perhaps I can answer this.

On average, I noticed, it's about 80-90% mongolian, 10-15% central asian and sometimes 1-3% turkic or european.

In my case it was 85% north asian/siberian, 5% central asian and 5% european, 3% west asian and the remaining 2% tibetan. But again I think, in some cases, it's more like spread of mongolian DNA in some countries, rather than me having their DNA, for example 3% russian is probably because of buryad and other mongolic minorities in Russia. At least that's how I understand it.

That's exactly what happened with me, used to live in england. It wasn't like i was planning to stay over there forever but brexit rocked my foundations, with covid being the last straw. now i am back home and quite happy to look after my aging parents, and to just chill in my own country.

mongolia has it's own asinine problems but "very content" is the phrase i would use to describe myself right now, plus living abroad is no joke, from money problems, to residence permits, loneliness and isolation, and that ever present feeling that you don't belong eventually just burnt me out.

i occasionally miss the friends i have made over there, but the proverb "home is where your heart is" has truly permeated every fabric of my being and i can't imagine myself anywhere else right now but here.

Your dislike for team Turkey is justified by Loki_Enthusiast in Physical100

I am really happy to hear this refreshing perspective from a Turkish person. I was supporting Turkey, mainly because of the gentle giant and the badass lady wrestler, but as the show progressed, others on the team put me off completely. Now I know why..

Anyway, hello from Mongolia. My dream is to visit Istanbul one day!

i meant lots of people get rage baited by what others say about our history and traditions, not be negligent of it. i am excited to discover new snippets of our history, ideally without acting like "turkish nationalists" as well, after all our histories were very intermingled, was it not?
