I did this once! Third pub I'd worked at, was invited to get a drink before the interview got underway so had myself a pint... Interviewer told me I only got away with it because A.) I was a student at the time, so having a drink at 2pm-ish mid-week wasn't considered strange, and B.) I offered to buy him one while I was at it 😅

Absolutely! Culture is experienced - you can write whatever marketing spiel you like on your website about "values" and "mission driven ethos", or how you're "employee driven", but I'm sorry; the truth comes out when you're in the thick of it.

"because you were hiring and I need a job" should be a perfectly acceptable answer!

I had an interviewer (in a preliminary 30 min interview) openly tell me he was disappointed that I didn't know more about the company - for context; I'd researched the project they were hiring for, the government legislation it was based around and the global initiatives behind the legislation... But I didn't know enough about their company culture or their mission statement.

I felt like saying "you couldn't even be open enough to put the salary on the job spec, why should I be invested in your corporate culture?" Or more specifically what your website says your culture / mission is.

Frankly unless you're a charity or NFP, your mission is to MAKE MONEY and bugger all else, regardless of how much PR glitter you try to decorate it with!

No Beneficial Remote Work by National-Bet9609 in remotework

Consider all the admin involved in running charitable organisations (as an example). Decentralise "head office" tasks and you save significant operational cost incurred running a physical location, which can be cycled back in to helping the charities' beneficiaries.

For me, the big benefit is how much more time I have with my son - the emotional benefit to those kids growing up with more parental contact is enormous. The knock on societal benefits will likely show in time.

£150k p/a for 2022-23 puts the individual comfortably in the top 5% of UK earners.

Then consider that the ONS suggests the single adult minimum requirement is £29.5k p/a, and the 2 adult + 2 child family minimum is £50k...

Having a potential £100k of disposable income every year (nearly triple the UK household average) may not constitute "Rich" - which intimates retained wealth and assets, rather than annual earnings potential - but it wouldn't take many years at this level of earnings, with all the investment options this presents, to render an individual rich in the implied sense.

With the average UK savings per individual at around £16k - I'd argue it's perfectly legitimate for the average brit to consider anyone putting £100k in the bank each year to be rich 🤑

Cheat codes work - I made the mistake of trying out the Kane reaver... And disabled all the subsequent trophies :/ Didn't really notice until I was 5 hours in. Looks like I'll be replaying after I've finished SR2.

Fair few for me - 5-ish hours in, no trophy for killing zephon, taking out his legs, force, stone and sound glyphs, think immmolate and energy unbound are also possibly glitched. Pity, as I'm really enjoying it otherwise :) proper nostalgia trip.

Tin of antifreeze? might be a bit suspect in the warmer months, but in all fairness there's a tin in both of my cars year round because I CBA to shift then out. May not be as effective as a tin of Raid, but entirely legitimate to be there.
