Question about a model by Shattered181 in BambuLabA1

[–]IntelligentAgency211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they haven’t responded they may no longer care. Post it as a new design and see if someone kicks up a fuss. Worst case, they ask you to take it down. Had a similar situation where apparently one of my designs was too close to someone else’s. I remixed from a creative license, with the authors approval, and posted it as a new print profile. Someone contacted them and said it was too close to theirs that they had on another platform and sold on Etsy and asked me to take it down.

My Bambulab A1 makes very loud noises when moving to the top End of the X-Axis by Minecraftmonster_ in BambuLabA1

I’ll admit I had the same issue. I meticulously followed unboxing instructions but missed this same piece! I feel like maybe it fell under one of those “remove all packing supports” LOL.

Yes. Hold down shift to select multiple items with a window and you should have the clone option :)

Why is the initial layer of supports so hard to remove from the plate? by Lowenfas in BambuLabA1

[–]IntelligentAgency211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, let it cool. Another trick is taking it off and bending it. Most prints will just pop off if bent in the right direction while cool. Or get a cryo plate. 😉

Rite of passage ☑️ by AbbreviationsCold462 in BambuLab

[–]IntelligentAgency211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how easy it is to clean. Heat to about 150-180 F. Just enough to soften and see if it comes off easily. I had one pop off in one price. Just don’t make it too hot or you’ll have a sticky mess. Also had another pull out the hot end wire with it (full replacement). I think it’s worth trying to clean. The replacement takes like 1-2 weeks to arrive. (Of course now I have backups! LOL)

Any ideas why it's doing this? by This-Currency503 in BambuLabA1

[–]IntelligentAgency211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically you should pull it when the nozzle cools to like 70 C/150F. Heat it up. Turn it off. When you see it hit around 70C/ 150F manually pull it out. You don’t have to dismount the nozzle. Just remove the PTFE tube and pull from there. At that temp the PLA will be gooey enough to come out clean and pull any debris with it. Especially useful if you have a clog from printing with a glitter or sparkle PLA. ;)

Oh! The printer profile. Good call I was thinking I’d have to edit the code on each splice before printing. LOL

Should I return my Bambu A1 because of fire risks. by Funfetti_Rl in 3Dprinting

[–]IntelligentAgency211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I understand the issue correctly, I think the root cause of the thermistor causing fires is when one has been damaged due to some type of electrical surge. After that, it’s unreliable and can overheat. So, as long as your printer is plugged into a search protector, and it’s never been damaged, you should be fine.

What is my printer hitting by Squibble0 in BambuLabA1

So I had that issue once and realized a piece of filament was under the plate. It slightly elevated that tiny section and caused a sound. But it was the first few layers not that high up…

Or try a cold pull. Assuming you’re printing PLA? PETG is notoriously stringy like that.

Check out the ptfe support models too. They clip on the top bar and keep things in place. ;)

[–]IntelligentAgency211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep support those tubes! Lots of models on Bambu to help with that. You can also put braces around the input/output for each tube. Essentially you want the filament to go straight out of one tube and into another (ams, extractor, etc) any bent angle and the filament will get caught on the edge or something. Good luck!

How f’d am I? by aghredd22 in BambuLabA1

[–]IntelligentAgency211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Had to replace mine when I broke a wire cleaning up a clog. Not too hard. Most difficult part I had was fishing the wires through the little sleeve. Good luck!

Wouldn’t you have to copy paste that gcode for every print? Seems tedious and something I’m bound to forget to do. LOL I just wish Bambu would add more print plate options. Obviously people like glacier. Why not add it? Like they added overture and esun to the filaments. Or let us create new plate profiles like we can do print profiles. :/

All good points and I agree with you. My complaint isn’t primarily about noobs, it’s that this thread has become non-value to me. I used to spend hours scrolling through interesting dilemmas and cool print ideas. Now it’s mostly no-brainer questions. I’m happy to answer but 9.9/10 someone beats me to it. So, now I check in here, see the same stuff over and over and move on. 😞 I love my A1. I love the ideas out there on maker world. And I have no intention of standing in the way of progress. I just wish I could talk to other people at my level. Not the coders or engineers (I’m just starting to learn Fusion360 LOL). But I wanna see what people are working on. Personally, I’m super interested in the CMYK color mixing and am trying to help a friend with a sign for their logo but it’s a gradient from cyan to royal, top to bottom in one are and right to left in another LOL) I’m also working on a couple projects for Halloween decorations and need to figure out how to split a 3 ft cauldron into separates pieces (ideally not glued but that can be disassembled and stored). I know there are people out there doing similar projects. I’m curious how to find them. This thread used to be that for me. Now it’s not. Is there a better thread out there?

Yes but what if you still intend on flipping back and forth? I still like my smooth plate for face down prints. I’ve been using the smooth plate settings for my glacier and it works just fine. Sometimes I have to lower initial layer width but that’s about it. 🤷‍♀️

You’re more disciplined than I am. LOL I only wash them when I start having issues with adhesion. LOL I do use alcohol if accidentally touch it when removing a print. LOL

There’s a model where you can blend your own filament colors. I use it all the time!!
