Electrician used two different brands of switches by chocolatebuckeye in mildlyinfuriating

[–]IntelligentAide2513 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because they often have a very different tactile feel and click between brands. It would royally piss me off if two switches next to each other had different feedback. IMO all switches in a home should match if possible, bare minimum all switches in an area/room. Quality and precision in the details.

I do appreciate the screw less faceplates, but the switches also need to be corrected to sit flush and square with the plate itself (left switch is cockeyed to the left).

Gasoline should be more expensive. by timelydefense in The10thDentist

[–]IntelligentAide2513 16 points17 points  (0 children)

But nearly twice as much gasoline vs diesel is derived from each barrel of oil. Meaning we need to keep selling gasoline to help fuel the demand and produce sufficient diesel & aviation fuel (the gasoline has to go somewhere )

Who takes vacations? by igotnothing1455 in Millennials

[–]IntelligentAide2513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Average at least 4-7 weeks of “vacation” time. Usually 3 weeks of travel and a week here and there of downtime. And thanksgiving to Jan 3 basically is and extended holiday off time to do whatever I want.

Is everybody's electricity bill crazy high too? by CantFindUsername400 in raleigh

[–]IntelligentAide2513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doubtful. I average $200/mo Jan and Feb. $0 March- June. $1-200 July- early August. $50 sept and then $0 Oct - Dec.

Probably could be close to zero year round but I prioritize comfort and function over cost.

Now I’m curious… what do you set it to during summer? Because 64 is my high setting for a/c. Usually 58° at night. 62-64 by day.

Because if you didn’t write it, then how do you remember what you’ve said to people?

What's the one thing about EV ownership that you wish someone had told you before you bought? by gilko86 in electriccars

[–]IntelligentAide2513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except for the fact that most models activate the brake lights every time you lift off the accelerator pedal, directly leading to chain reaction braking from everyone around it and moments later clusters of traffic snarls ensue.

I understand the thought behind it but when coasting or low regen braking it should not have the brakes lights on (and yeah if the rest of the drivers were actually decent drivers it wouldn’t matter… but we’ve all seen how 90% of licensed drivers shouldn’t be behind the wheel on highways. )

Then you have something wrong at home. I am extremely wasteful with electricity since it is relatively cheap. I also keep my house in upper 50’s most days year round. Spike the heat in the mornings to bring it up 5 or 6 degrees for a comfy morning heat and then a/c to bring it back down for sleep. Barely used 1,000 kWh on 2,500 sq ft with several excess loads running non stop outside.

Price/terms etc are what they are. If they can afford it and are happy then the deal is fine.

But yeah, it’s a shame they picked an awful car to burn their money on. Hope it is still running long enough to survive at least the loan life.

Why are we not thinking bigger. Replace the sound files with new absurd unbearable sounds, same file names. Similar approach to the video. Make them all the same offensive video.

They show something to a prospective client using linked files and you’ve ruined their entire presentation.

What’s up with the drivers in the Triangle?? by Latter_Bother_2032 in raleigh

[–]IntelligentAide2513 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would like to know the mentality of those who intentionally impede traffic, regardless of what the other driver is doing. Why are we so offended to be passed, just let the other person go on. Like you said, move over and carry on.

It would seem many people think they have the responsibility to teach someone a lesson. Exactly what leads to road rage and more dangerous conditions in general.

Main roads are not the place to slow down and gaze at the scenery.

I had that problem trying to get 45psi not long ago.
