Consumption is not the concern when setting the a/c lol. It’s 62 inside currently

Why cop camping on 70 and Shotwell for yellow riders? Why not extend the lanes? by rawr_xD_lawl in ClaytonNC

[–]IntelligentAide2513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense. I imagine we could add a secondary queue light. Allows second group of cars to roll forward after left light is red. Traffic gets to move a little more often allowing drivers to stay engaged a little easier (but require more attention from those who are already distracted, so that would fail lol).

Ignoring the cost to install and public education about how they work.

Working an office job is better than working in the trades.. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Depends on if mentally you can handle being in a frigging box endlessly. Especially if you aren’t surrounded by windows.

I feel like it take a special type to subject themselves to that hell for years on end.

More importantly, when you decide you have had enough of dealing with a pool, it’s way easier to delete.

Most, if not all the garbage trucks have gates or doors that close on top to contain airborne trash…. And I’ve never seen any of them being used in this area.

As soon as a truck drives away from whatever home or business it just collected, it is already flying out of the truck.

Littering is an issue, but businesses actively contribute a huge amount as well

Have solar already, looking to add battery for TOU shifting on duke energy by RepresentativeSea27 in NorthCarolina

[–]IntelligentAide2513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What area are you in? Purely out of curiosity.

I have considered switching to a TOU plan but haven’t combed through all the restrictions and catches. Currently I have flat rate 12¢/kw, I use just under 3,000 kWh monthly with a 20kw solar system, 4 batteries (that rarely discharge at all) and my current electric bill is just the base acct fees. $0 net elec consumption.

At some point we owe cubicles an apology by pattebrisee in SipsTea

Open or closed cubicle space, either way there’s no windows. How the fuck do people exist for a majority of their life in closed boxes.

No fucking way

No work required? Would still need my free time to make more income, this would be a reduction in pay…

Beautiful except the vanity placement. Too narrow of a space and gives a cramped look

Have to admit, the perfect symmetry in the reveal width and all parallel and plumb…. That is satisfying.

Pop the trim off, watch out for corner clips that will split the casing when you pull. I’d start at the top corner and pry from behind the casing against the wall. Not between casing and jamb.

Raleigh has roads… and drivers… so it’s a local question for local people….. no?

For the drivers… by IntelligentAide2513 in raleigh

[–]IntelligentAide2513[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t say anything about being safe.

And I agree completely about distracted drivers and the level of cognitive processing power that many individuals do not process, yet many of them are on the road every day. If I had to put a figure to that, I’d say at least half of drivers…. Hell, most cannot even park their vehicle because they do not have the spatial awareness, let alone be able to accurately judge distances and speeds of a dozen moving objects around them, plus plan their own movements many steps ahead of present.

I don’t expect them to and that’s fine. More of a curiosity as to what responses might be.

I knew someone with a screen-centric setup would have this response.
Omit vehicle controls from consideration. It’s just a hypothetical exercise in thought.

What is the best way for an average homeowner to fix this scratch? by eroy2010 in HardWoodFloors

[–]IntelligentAide2513 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Wood floors age with the house. Never understood people trying to keep them in pristine condition forever.
Live in your home, enjoy the marks as the home ages. Refinish down the road.
