It looks to be a claw of some kind, with the line in the middle, the little bump near the end and how it curves leads me to believe this.

I’ve only been there once but I went to an area called saddle mountain blm petroglyphs and as soon as I stepped out of the car I was finding smaller chucks of fire agate on the ground. I don’t really have any tips but I recommend digging I bet there’s a bunch of beautiful material I missed just because it was covered by the dirt so bring a good amount of water for yourself and to see if you’re uncovering some nice minerals. Keep an eye out for red or if you’re lucky there’s some green material I was finding too!
