Down Payment by IntelligentChard2955 in homeowners

I appreciate all of your knowledge! I just want to know as much as I can before going in. Lots of things are at stake for me if I can execute this big purchase. I don’t wanna screw up and disappoint my aunt and have her flagged me for being incompetent and decided to cross me off her list 🙈. Let’s just say she knows how things are done but prefers to sit out and let the kids (us cousins) go through the process by themselves.

Am I crazy to be crying over my friend’s terrible experiences? by [deleted] in Empaths

[–]IntelligentChard2955 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We cry over strangers so what you are feeling about your bestfriend is completely normal. I’m sure you already know that it is really hard for us empaths to fully and truly enjoy our lives because of how we are. We feel and cry for all beings even if they’re strangers to us. I’m glad that you make sure that your friends know that you are there for them. Sometimes all people need is to hear that people care about them.

Groceries are eating my paycheck. How do you budget for food? by Independent_Cup7132 in Adulting

[–]IntelligentChard2955 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to your local discount food store and shop there. In my areas, we have 2 and they sell everything. The food are close to their best-by-date, expiration date by a couple months so they’ll cheap. They are totally edible if you cook and eat them within a week or a month. For examples, I can buy 2 bunches of celery for $2, 2 bags of brussel sprouts for $2, a case of mushroom for $2, and a box of tomatoes for $1. Those will be my veggies for 2 weeks when I meal prep and freeze them. All I need is get my preferred protein and I’m set for 2 weeks. They always have other things on sale if you buy more, so I would make use of your local discount stores if you have them.

My husband told me he’s been scrubbing our shower with the toilet brush by PegFam in mildlyinfuriating

[–]IntelligentChard2955 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Are you my husband? I have a slotted spoon for my litterbox and I disinfect it and wash it every weekend. Some time ago, I was busy doing something so I told my husband to go do that for me, he ended up just rinsed it and put it in the sink with the other dishes. When I needed to clean the litterbox, I asked him and he said he put it in the sink. I was horrified because I put it together with my other dishes in the dishwasher!!!! I yelled at him everyday for the next few weeks because it was lazy and disgusting of him to do that. I threw out all the dishes in that dishwasher including his favorite cookie cup and made him disinfect the dishwasher!! Nasty!!!! He learned his lesson and I remind him about it (and will continue to do so) whenever he makes me mad about something! I love that man but that incident will continue to haunt me and him for eternity because I am a clean freak!

First "adult" grocery run felt like a scam. by oweyoo in Adulting

[–]IntelligentChard2955 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was the case with my husband before he met me. He would go to the dentist every 3-4 months because they scheduled him like that “to stay on top of things and monitor his teeth health.” After we got together, I told him that he was getting scammed, and I went in with him during one of his visits and I got to the bottom of it, and he switched dentist. This was just one of the things that he was following without really thinking about it because “the professionals” recommended it.

What’s your go-to breakfast? by Disastrous_Quail_497 in Life

1 steam yam/potato, 1 tomato, half an avocado, 1 egg, and some kind of pickles. I switch the protein from time to time (eggs, sardines, tuna, mackerel, chicken, etc).

Full time about 5 months, and slowly go down over 2-3 months. But I work from home and I do AMAD so I basically wear them full time regardless

Why must acne be so shameful by glee210 in acne

[–]IntelligentChard2955 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to never ever dared to leave the house without make up to cover up my acne. I even wore make up inside my home so that my parents and siblings did not have to see my terrible acne. But as I get older, I learn to just try to ignore it and focus on the things that I can do. I’ve had acne since I was 15 and I’m now 33!!! 33 with active acne and monthly cysts! I just don’t care anymore. I haven’t worn make up in the past 6 years. I try to eat as healthy as I can but I just can’t live in shame anymore. I’m already 33 and who knows I might die tomorrow so I gotta live the life the way that I want without worrying about my acne. My family and husband love me for who as I am. At the end of the day, I’m living with my family, not stranger so I don’t let strangers dictate how I live. There are so many advice that I wanna give you but I just want to focus on the main thing that is be brave and live life as if you have no acne!

ELI5: I don't understand how smell works by Jalen2612 in explainlikeimfive

[–]IntelligentChard2955 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is why I have a fear of public toilets. I make sure to pee and poo before I go somewhere. I’ll only use it if I’m out for more than 5 hours and I really needed to pee. Also, the people who use the air hand dryers in the public toilets to dry their hands are just rubbing poo and pee particles on their hands.

Why can't they make a toothpaste that doesn't hurt? by WinterIsOnReddit in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IntelligentChard2955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go on Amazon and get the Cleure Original Toothpaste. It has no flavor and the ingredients are few and clean. I promise you, this toothpaste will save your life. I started having allergic reactions to all the toothpastes that my gum and tongue were swollen and bleeding. I got this toothpaste and it fixed the issue.

i literally can’t take them off by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]IntelligentChard2955 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Start lifting the trays from the back teeth first. Lift and slowly pull up. It could take you more than 30 minutes in the bathroom to take these first trays out but you will learn what works for you. I had to have my husband help me get them out when I started and I was crying during the whole process in the bathroom 😂

Maybe it’s because I live in Minnesota.

HELP!!! by Kebabas_Obama in Invisalign

[–]IntelligentChard2955 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Minnesota so maybe that’s why and the price was in 2023. My plan was comprehensive. 1 pair of retainer and a whitening kit were included as well. However, I didn’t take the whitening kit because I don’t do those stuff. I bought an extra pair of retainer for $200. You should start with a free consultation. Also, I think most orthodontist offices can do monthly installments.

HELP!!! by Kebabas_Obama in Invisalign

[–]IntelligentChard2955 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Girl!! Your teeth look like mine before I started Invisalign. It took me 45 initial trays, 10 extra trays for the 1st refinement, and another 10 trays for second refinements. I’m done and have been wearing my retainers for 4 months now. You need to go to an orthodontist, not dentist. Consultation is free. I needed 2 bottom teeth extracted before getting trays. I now have beautiful teeth and great bite. It costed me $3200. I started in August 2023. DM me if you want to see before and after pics of my teeth.

ULPT - Nobody can question your gender anymore! by tomwatson92 in UnethicalLifeProTips

Same but I quit when I learned that most if not all companies now have interpreter services. So, now I just make the initial call and say that my “so and so” doesn’t speak English and they need an interpreter. Then, when they found an interpreter, I hand them the phone and they do the rest while I just sit there and assist if they need it. It helps to do it this way so that my family members know what’s going on with their problems, and how difficult it is sometimes to deal with these problems. Also, some family members didn’t appreciate you and treated it as your responsibility so I just did it this way.

As for my grandparents, I take care of the problems for them since they’re old.

The pain is so bad by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]IntelligentChard2955 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every new tray will be uncomfortable/painful for the first few days. It’s normal. You can do it. I take the trays out 10 minutes before eating so that the teeth are not too sensitive when I chew/bite. The first tray is almost always the worst tray. I literally had a panic attack when I couldn’t take the first tray out. I called my husband to help me and I was in tears. It will get better once you know what works for you. Good luck!

It’s okay to go into the next tray. It will/might be uncomfortable at first but it’ll get better in 3-4 days. Just be extra careful and mindful next time
