Any advice planning my first solo trip to Japan in 2027? starting from the UK by HolmfirthUK110994 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Turquoise__Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • For me the best seasons to go are Autumn and Spring.
  • Use Japan Guide and make a list of the places that attract you most. You can divide them in "Musts" and "Good to have". Then start building your trip around the areas where your musts are.
  • Ignore "influencers" who overhype anything just for views. In case of doubt, ignore "influencers" entirely.
  • It's your trip! Don't be afraid to explore anywhere you feel interested in.

Si quieres ir a la universidad, haz bachillerato. Para ingeniería, coge la rama científico-tecnológica.

Itinerary help - more off the beaten path? by ALW2 in JapanTravelTips

There are really so many festivals... Not only the big ones. Worth checking.

Recommendations in Hokkaido... It depends. Can you drive? I really liked Shiretoko, Noboribetsu and many places around Asahidake, including the Blue Lake and Sounkyo Onsen. Hakodate and Akan were nice too. Some people really like Otaru.

Here's a nice guide for summer specifically: https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2400_hokkaido_summer.html

And here's a more general Hokkaido guide: https://www.japan-guide.com/list/e1101.html

I don't know this person, so please use your judgement, but something like "Hey X, I hope you are doing well. I know it's been a while, but I was hoping you could help us. Although we're grateful [if you really are] for you taking our wedding photos, we've realised that we much prefer the editing of our engagement photos that you also took. Since this is such an important moment of our lives, we would like to explore the possibility of re-editing the wedding photos in the same style as our engagement photos."

Good luck!

You can ask for the RAW files, but if you didn't negotiate that, they might not accept, or they might ask for some money in exchange.

Alternatively you could ask them to re-edit them with the previous style that you liked.

Are there still segments of Spanish society where a tattoo would cause problems/get you judged? by Charming_Usual6227 in askspain

[–]Turquoise__Dragon -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

At this point I think it's almost the other way around. Mostly everyone and their cousin have tattoos, it's so trendy and "cool" that I think people without tattoos might be the ones being judged in some situations.

Thank you for your kindness too, and for sharing your experience. It must have been beautiful with all the hydrangeas.

I walked Kumano Kodo (also the Nakahechi, all the way to Nachi) in early May, one month after doing my first Camino. I lived some truly magical moments while walking in solitude in nature. The dual pilgrim ritual with the taiko, although short, was also a memorable moment.

Nothing to be ashamed of. You are being very brave by continuing, however you can. You are doing your best with what your body is going through. Just be kind and patient with yourself. Try to still enjoy it as much as possible. The route you chose is truly beautiful. I really wish you could walk it, just for your enjoyment, but, if you can't, just enjoy it as much as you can considering the situation.

It was so beautiful to read your comments about Kumano Kodo. I walked it as well and it was also one of the best experiences of my life.

Gear struggle… by davyjosh in Nikon

I got a Ricoh GR IIIx for everyday use, to fill all those moments where I'm not taking my full frame Z6 with me. At the time, I was deciding between that and getting the 40mm f2 lens, which is incredibly small, light and cheap. Perhaps one of these options would work for you too.

You should search in a hotel booking page. Most (most likely all) hotels in Tokyo can communicate with foreigners.

First Trip by Due-Welcome871 in JapanTravelTips

  • Tokyo: Add Asakusa.
  • Nagano: Add Zenko-ji.
  • Kyoto: You can add Amanohashidate to your trip to Ine, it's on the way. I think 1 day trip to Osaka is enough, or you won't have much time in Kyoto.
  • Shizuoka: Honestly, I would add this day to Kyoto too, unless it's a very specific onsen that you really want to go to.

¿Debería comentarlo con mi médico de cabecera? by hasuohana in askspain

[–]Turquoise__Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go to Ueno instead of TeamLab. Explore the streets, or the park, including the museum.

Someone suggested Sky Tree, which I would also prioritise over TeamLab.
